Arrived at night. Almost missed the turn off the main road. The gated entrance, at night, was a bit hard to see. The lobby entrance itself was tucked away down a small hill.
Hotel was generally well kept.
Some minor observations... the room I stayed in, although a bit dated, was clean. I could see the wallpaper starting to peel a little here and there, but not a showstopper.
The room also seemed smaller than comparable room types in typical hotel chains. Or it could just be the layout/furniture arrangement that gave that perception.
Heat in the room was not working properly but had decent airflow.
At breakfast, the level of staffing was appropriate and in terms of service -exceptional. They were alert, attentive, and left a much better impression than most breakfast teams at the typical hotel chains.
Some things for management to consider addressing: 1) Verifying HVAC operation in the different rooms is as expected, 2) updating or removing dated wallpaper, carpeting and furniture, and 3) improving illumination around the gated entrance from the main street.
