Booked through Flight centre in Australia. Initially we were given a room already occupied. Next room - shoe box/bedsit not an apartment . Bed was very hard pillows had fluff falling out, sheets had holes in them. Bathroom was disgusting really filthy - dirty tiles mould everywhere dirty toilet as well. The TV bracket was broken as was the remote, there was no dishwashing detergent or teatowels and a wet used sponge only. When I approached reception nothing could be done until next day. We didn't sleep too well as we kept rolling into each other, ENOUGH we moved across the road. Overall extremely poor cleanliness, tired appointments, I am not sure if anything will change as staff seem not too be too concerned.
Location was amazing, however the floors creaked so loudly it felt like you would wake up the whole place, the bed felt like it was going to collapse. Maybe some carpet or a rug would eliminate this. Sink in the kitchen was rank... and luckily we didn't need to cook there... Lots of local things to see but there was no information provided in the room for guidance.
If your looking for a place that's rooms are falsely advertised or a management team who try and cancel your booking a few days before you arrive as they have no room then this is the place for you! I don't even know where to start... a few days before arriving I had a what's app message saying my booking had been cancelled.. yes a what's app message!! so I rang to find out what was going on. i spoke to a lady on the phone and explained the message I recieved and ask what was going on, her response was we have no room for you!! so I asked why my booking was excepted months before my stay if no room was available... and asked what was i supposed to do now? the response was find somewhere else to stay! absolutely disappointing I asked to speak to a manager and was told to ring back in 30 minutes I said no.. i wanted to speak to someone there and then! did that happen unfortunately not, I can only assume he wasn't interested in dealing with my questions! so magically the lady on the phone said we now have a room... so that must of been a pretty quick room build or I was getting lied to about a room not being available for me!! so when we arrived not knowing what to expect we checked in with very little help from the staff on the desk. we spent a good while trying to find our room as the staff where unhelpful. then we got to the room.... and wow the difference the description states and what we walked in to was unbelievable!!! wouldn't stay here again and didn't really want to stay the one night i had to!! over priced not what it says on the tin absolute joke!!
Positives- Friendly staff Convenient location (close to Paddington Station and Hyde Park) Basic facilities - fridge, shower, kitchenette etc. Negatives- Found a cockroach Really uncomfortable beds Overall it has a very cheap vibe about it- from having to put a deposit down for a hair drier at the front desk, to the pre-used sponge in the kitchen sink and watered-down dish washing detergent Would I recommend? Maybe if you’re desperate/not fussy. On a side note, we had a random man knock on our door and ask to check our bed (?!!!)
The room is like an enlarged broom cupboard, should omit the word executive from the description. It is very basic, not equipped with clean cups and utensils adequately, consequently the cups are tea stained.( don't expect a dishwasher ,washing machine or drier, there is no room for such luxuries) Mold on the ceiling in bathroom. Walls paper thin, it is very noisy and is like a rabbit warren to find your room. The double bed was comfortable and it was only 3 minute walk to the shops and tube station. I would not recommend using these apartments, I think you are paying just for the address.
The location is excellent, and the staff were cheerful. I cannot find much else to commend this hotel. American Airlines Vacations somehow rated it as four stars, so my wife and I were disappointed. It would have been a reasonable value for a two-star hotel. The room had a refrigerator, a stove and a microwave, but I would not have wanted to cook there for fear of tripping over something. It did not have daily housekeeping service. The shower was so tiny that when I dropped the soap, I had to open the shower door in order to have room to pick it back up -- and dropping the soap was easy without a soap dish. Supposedly clean towels were easily available from the front desk, but we found a speck of blood on one of the towels, and neither of us had wounds. We had no trouble overhearing arguments (or more fun moments) from the room next door. In all, Hyde Park Executive Apartments would be fine for any budget travelers not naively trusting the American Airlines Vacations ratings.
Stayed for a month - wonderful staff, very helpful, good recommendations for area pubs and shops. Basic, clean room with small kitchen area - able to have breakfast in room almost every morning - ideal for our budget.
Stayed here for 2 nights and were definitely mislead by the pictures online. We were on ground floor, initially thought this would be ok until I realised that BOTH windows faced the corridors meaning no privacy (see pictures). Not only this, the glass isn't even frosted and there were only blinds. The room was run down and in some desperate need of renovation. Cracks in bathroom sink, splash board in kitchenette smashed/cracked and skirting boards scuffed. The place was dull unlike the bright and airy pictures. It felt dirty and it was really sad to see a beautiful building so unkempt and unloved. On the positive, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was great with two tube stations within walking distance and Hyde Park on the corner. The reception area was lovely and pleasing to the eye too. Honestly think with some updating and love this could be a really lovely hotel!
We got what we paid for. We were after a cheap room, somewhere to just sleep and shower, that’s what we got. Initially it was pleasant, however, on closer inspection there was extensive wear and tear; marks on the wall, screws missing from fixtures, a broken splash back in the kitchen, to list just a few. The bed was not uncomfortable but extremely squeaky and pushed into an alcove with no room to walk beside, we therefore had to climb in from the end, and climbing out was harder... definitely not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. The place was also very loud. We were woken numerous times with doors slamming and the sound of people talking. Unlike other reviews the cleanliness of our room was satisfactory and despite the negatives listed within this review the room did not negatively impact our stay.
Photos need to be updated as the room we stayed in certainly wasnt the same - would pay to read reviews before booking #expensivelessonlearnt. Floors dirty, half a roll of toilet paper and gum on wall
