I stayed here for work and was not overly impressed with it. Firstly, it's very in your face decor in the lobby, lots of bright reds etc, weird actually, the light is really weird... bight red with stainless steel everywhere. The decor continues like this, in an OTT fashion, bight, in your face colors, with lots of brick effect and mirrors in the hall ways. This is carried on into the rooms with brick facing on the wall behind the bed. There are nice features, like the moon and egg shape toilet....why!!!??? Anyway, they also have a helpful mobile phone which you are free to use and take with you. This is good. There are however a few real issues with the hotel I feel. 1. The noise in the room from upstairs is awful, you can hear, literally everything... 2. the rooms are roasting and you need the zircon on all the time. I just thought it would be better and certainly would not pay for it myself. It's a very, maybe below average hotel, pretending to be upmarket. I didn't like it and didn't sleep at all on my stay here, due to the noise and the heat. The staff are nice and friendly, but this doesn't compensate really. Also, I walked out with two bags and was never asked would I like a taxi called or any form of assistance. This is not a purpose built hotel. it looks like it was an old office block, converted into a hotel. Very poor in my estimations, All I want when traveling on business is a good nights sleep and despite its funky exterior and gadgets, this hotel did not deliver for me at all.
Nice hotel in good location. Comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Near Tower of London and Tower Bridge. Handy for Aldgate and Tower Hill underground stations. Nice touches included quality toiletries and free water, etc from mini bar. Only slight downsides were the noisy plumbing/heating system, the early morning hoovering and poor television reception on Sky channels. Also quite expensive. But overall recommended.
A group of four of us wanted to be local to the Tower of London and Fenchurch Street. the location was excellent ,minutes walk from both. Rooms, whilst not spacious were adequate and styled in a Boutique way. Free drinks and snacks in the mini bar plus the usual tea /coffee. Bathroom well appointed with spacious walk in shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent value at £12.50 for full a la carte plus anything from the Continental buffet. Also, tip, the nearby multi storey Minories car park was £2 after 13.30 on Saturday for the rest of the day /night and £2 for the Sunday, in central London, What a deal.
I can't fault this hotel.. check in was easy and quick. Hotel staff can't do anymore for you. The rooms are lovely and very clean. Great location to see the city and very close to The Tower of London and the Thames
Twice asked at front desk about Laundry in fire escapes. Duty manager on my first night there said she would get stuff shifted, hotel Manager (also their HSE manager) at checkout said it was not a problem, and he had checked it was OK with fire brigade and HSE... Personally I don't believe him. I don't think combustible materials should obstruct fire escapes. See attached photos and decide if you want to stay here.
The Hotel Indigo is one of the nicer hotels that I have stayed in recently with really comfortable rooms, spacious bathroom/wet room, and a free mini bar that includes chocolate. The staff are very friendly and you can drop off your luggage early in the morning if required. I needed to print off a document and although there's no business facility, the lady on reception was happy to oblige.
We stayed for two nights. This is a lovely boutique hotel. Very clean and quirky and with an affordable price. We loved our room. It was spacious and had an amazing bathroom with a walk-in-shower. The complimentary mini bar was a great surprise. The staff were very helpful on a few occasions with a few a few things we needed done. They were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. This has to be without a doubt the best hotel I have stayed in in London yet...and I have stayed in quite a few! If you are in London then you have to check this hotel out. It is in a quiet area and a 2 minute walk to Aldgate tube station. It ticks all the boxes and we can't wait to come back!
The hotel is clean and well equipped. It does everything that you would want it to - good air con/heating and modern finishing with a large shower and good water pressure. Pros: Free replenished mini bar (non-alcoholic) Clean soft towels Hard wood floors (better to keep clean/more hygienic) vs carpet in my opinion Aveda toiletries, slippers and dressing gown provided Located no more than a minute's walk to Aldgate tube station Cons (minor): Room a little dark Wardrobe hanging space limited (single door width) Tea available (Earl Grey/Red Bush/Camomile) but no Green Tea provided which I found surprising Generally found the room to be quiet. However, can clearly hear other rooms early morning wake-up calls/ringer through walls in room which when the calls are repeatedly made/not responded to is rather annoying/disturbing
Stayed here for 4 nights on business. Arrived on A Sunday night. Welcomed very politely on reception and was checked in within minutes. Free newspaper in the morning and also free bottles of water in room.....Nice touch compared to most. Room was a decent size and very clean. I was room only and paid extra for breakfast, vouchers were available at reception at a reduced cost as opposed to if I just went in and paid???? Breakfast was.....To be honest disappointing, I'd eaten in on Sunday of my arrival I was the only one in the restaurant and when my burger arrived it was like warm to say the least. I didn't complain I just ate it and thought hope breakfast is better, but it wasn't. On the Wednesday morning the hotel was busier and breakfast room was full.......About 6-8 people, full compared to other mornings. After waiting nearly 40 mins for a full English when it arrived Luke warm and the hash browns looking anaemic beyond belief, I made my feelings known to the staff who offered to cook another one but I couldn't wait another 40 mins.....I'm working!! Hastily went to room with bowl of strawberries.....And turned up late to meeting a colleague. Breakfast on final day, I chose beans and egg, to be honest it was the best meal I had, but wasn't that good! Having said all that though (and waffled a bit), I would definitely have no hesitation in staying here again, so please don't be put off by the breakfast thing. All the staff were brilliant and friendly.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo a few weeks ago. We picked it because it was convenient to his office and near lots of site seeing places for me. As reported, it was clean but it was lacking in so many areas. There was a tiny lobby with a front desk, two small chairs and some bad plants. There was no gym, and the breakfast room was attached to the lobby and while the food was good it felt like I was in a dated diner. I was told by the reservation manager when I confirmed my room that it included breakfast. When I went to breakfast this was challenged by the waitress and front desk and was only resolved by the hotel manager. Like I said the room was clean but dated. The mod open showers left the bathroom flooded and the "groovy" sink had no space for toiletries. The small shelves next to the sink certainly did not hold our kits as they were taken up by towels and Kleenex boxes. Definitely not user friendly. The decor was also dated. I imagine this hotel is fine for business people who don't care much for their surroundings or amenities. It is convenient and clean but not comfy or terribly enjoyable.
