The hotel is clean and well equipped. It does everything that you would want it to - good air con/heating and modern finishing with a large shower and good water pressure. Pros: Free replenished mini bar (non-alcoholic) Clean soft towels Hard wood floors (better to keep clean/more hygienic) vs carpet in my opinion Aveda toiletries, slippers and dressing gown provided Located no more than a minute's walk to Aldgate tube station Cons (minor): Room a little dark Wardrobe hanging space limited (single door width) Tea available (Earl Grey/Red Bush/Camomile) but no Green Tea provided which I found surprising Generally found the room to be quiet. However, can clearly hear other rooms early morning wake-up calls/ringer through walls in room which when the calls are repeatedly made/not responded to is rather annoying/disturbing
Stayed here for 4 nights on business. Arrived on A Sunday night. Welcomed very politely on reception and was checked in within minutes. Free newspaper in the morning and also free bottles of water in room.....Nice touch compared to most. Room was a decent size and very clean. I was room only and paid extra for breakfast, vouchers were available at reception at a reduced cost as opposed to if I just went in and paid???? Breakfast was.....To be honest disappointing, I'd eaten in on Sunday of my arrival I was the only one in the restaurant and when my burger arrived it was like warm to say the least. I didn't complain I just ate it and thought hope breakfast is better, but it wasn't. On the Wednesday morning the hotel was busier and breakfast room was full.......About 6-8 people, full compared to other mornings. After waiting nearly 40 mins for a full English when it arrived Luke warm and the hash browns looking anaemic beyond belief, I made my feelings known to the staff who offered to cook another one but I couldn't wait another 40 mins.....I'm working!! Hastily went to room with bowl of strawberries.....And turned up late to meeting a colleague. Breakfast on final day, I chose beans and egg, to be honest it was the best meal I had, but wasn't that good! Having said all that though (and waffled a bit), I would definitely have no hesitation in staying here again, so please don't be put off by the breakfast thing. All the staff were brilliant and friendly.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Indigo a few weeks ago. We picked it because it was convenient to his office and near lots of site seeing places for me. As reported, it was clean but it was lacking in so many areas. There was a tiny lobby with a front desk, two small chairs and some bad plants. There was no gym, and the breakfast room was attached to the lobby and while the food was good it felt like I was in a dated diner. I was told by the reservation manager when I confirmed my room that it included breakfast. When I went to breakfast this was challenged by the waitress and front desk and was only resolved by the hotel manager. Like I said the room was clean but dated. The mod open showers left the bathroom flooded and the "groovy" sink had no space for toiletries. The small shelves next to the sink certainly did not hold our kits as they were taken up by towels and Kleenex boxes. Definitely not user friendly. The decor was also dated. I imagine this hotel is fine for business people who don't care much for their surroundings or amenities. It is convenient and clean but not comfy or terribly enjoyable.
It is hard for hotels to make a difference. I stayed in a junior suite which was excellent in every way. Complementary mini-bar, and all the amenities needed. Wifi is good, but breakfast was not included. In summary, a good business hotel, conveniently located.
It's small hotel with quite modern style. The hotel has good location. It's just few minutes walk from Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations. Fenchurch Street railway and Tower Gateway DLR-stations are also very near. That's why Indigo is good hotel to stay if you are going to ExCel expo arena. There is also restaurant in the hotel and at least breakfast was surprisingly good. It wasn't include in my room price but was worth of money. One single thing is that they don't have fitted carpets in rooms - I hate those carpets! There are also free drinks (no alcohol) in minibar.
Just arrived home after a 2 night stay at Hotel Indigo. My husband booked this for my christmas present and emailed ahead to let them know it was a special occasion. We were greeted by a very cheerful and very helpful girl on reception called Viktorija. We were given an upgrade to King executive. The room was amazing, very comfortable beds, good bathroom, iron, hair dryer, tea, coffee and a complimentary minibar stocked with water, fruit juice, soft drinks and chocolate. We had breakfast in the morning, which was very good. Lots of choice and good value and service. The location was great. Central but quiet. A few stations within 10 min walk. Close to the tower of London, Tower bridge. Walk in the other direction and its 10 mins from Spitalfields and Petticoat Lane. Special mention to Viktorija who was very helpful and cheerful and was a fountain of knowledge when it came to the local area and getting from A to B. We would love to visit again soon. Just need to talk the grandparents into babysitting again.
Only stayed one night at this well situated hotel, but will happily stay again. Upgraded to a delightful room, with lots of space, a very comfy bed and excellent bathroom. Free soft drink mini bar and expresso machine, plus plenty of fluffy towels and Aveda toiletries made the sat complete.
Friendly staff - well equiped room - quiet - good breakfast What else would you need? Just one con: floors are quite noisy. I could hear the footsteps of our neighbours. Hope I didn't bother them too much with mine...
Spotless, well equipped beautifully decorated rooms which well above average in size for London. Attentive staff and lovely food. All in a great location in a relatively quiet street, however, still very hand for the City.
Hotel Indigo is a chain with a nice reputation. Though it was tough to find, we enjoyed the location. It's tucked away on a side street, which makes it very quiet and cozy. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room has blackout curtains. The service left something to be desired, but we enjoyed our one night and would recommend it for a similar stay.
