My husband and I stayed here with our two children (8 and 5) in May this year for a couple of nights when we were seeing Take That at the O2. We drove down and parked at the hotel, all of which was very easy. The hotel was good, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all, but the food was good and plentiful. The bar was lovely for a drink at the end of a busy day. It was very easy to get to the O2 and just a little way longer into Central London. It was a good base for the weekend and I would recommend if you don't mind using public transport for a little longer to get into London. It was amazing value for money, so worth looking at if on a budget.
I booked this the day before we arrived and as pleasantly surprised at the great price for a weekend night. We arrived very late and were very tired, but I have to say, I had the best nights sleep for a very long time. Breakfast was a little disappointing, very little choice and no option for requesting other types of eggs, just the sad looking scrambled egg on the hot counter. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff attentive. I was surprised to find single use plastic cups in the bathroom and even more surprised they were individually wrapped in more plastic. Please return to reusable glass.
Good location for the Excel arena. About a 10 minute walk. The hotel is situated directly opposite London City Airport. So it can be quite noisy. But did not affect any sleep. Rooms are the standard you would find in a Holiday Inn Express. Staff were friendly and helpful. Did not have evening meal in hotel. But breakfast was good. Plenty of parking space in the rear. If staying again would request a room at the rear due to the noise. Nearest tube station is DLR Royal Albert which is a 5 minute walk. Good location for traveling around London if you wish to stay slightly outside
The Hotel is located near Royal Albert DLR Station and Central London can be reached in ca. 20 Minutes with the DLR or with change to the tube at Canningtown. Our Rooms were clean and the Size was ok. Breakfast is quite basic but has a choice of warm dishes. Sadly, the coffemaschines ar working with instant coffe so the coffe tastes quite bad. Bar Prices are very high. Staff was always very friendly.
Budget hotel to a high standard. Location Opposite city airport and a 2 minute walk from Royal Albert DLR station. Entrance Specious, clean, lots of seating with comfy sofa’s and a bar. Food Snacks to order from room for collection also can be ordered at the bar.. where you have the choice to dine inside or outside in the lovely side garden. Breakfast.. not many options however cooked very well... my only gripe was the dirty cutlery.. someone should be checking it when it comes out of the dishwasher. Room Thick walls, couldn’t hear a thing.. considering how busy the hotel was. Clean, super king bed by the look of it, very comfortable.. Size not very big but cosy. Bathroom small and compact however with a huge power shower that could fit at least three people. Fluffy white towels, shower gel and had wash provided. Kettle, tea, cups, iron/ iron board , hairdryer provided. Not much hanging space. No fridge. Staff Polite, friendly and very hard working ( especially the lovely blonde lady that was working in the restaurant ) Overall I was very happy with my stay... as I was reluctant to staying there .. but would would stay again. High standards for a budget hotel.
Have stayed here on may occasions and have never failed to be impressed. The location is great, just off the A13 and close to the DLR for travel into town. The rooms are just what is needed for an overnight stay, nice beds, nice shower and quiet. The breakfast is included and there is something for all, from cereal to beans on toast. Nothing else to say apart from keep it up and I will definitely return next time I’m in the area.
As a disabled person and a wheelchair user, I have to book in advanced to be able park. This venue refused to let me book a parking space, even though they were required by ;aw to make a reasonable adjustment. This was only the beginning of our problems. We arrive to find an available disabled space, with an ornamental pergola around it. We squeezed into the space and commented about the unsuitability to the reception. The were not moved by my predicament which added insult to our frustration. The next day when we left to go into London, I scraped my car on the ornamental pergola. When we arrived back I reported the matter to the reception. They took my details and said someone would be in touch. I also reminded them again as I checked out. Weeks went by and nothing. I wrote to the Head office and as this is a franchise they referred me to the manager who avoided my calls for days. I eventually out the matter in writing and received a catalogue of lies about how accessible the spaces were, even thought I had experience to the contrary. As a Disability and Human Rights Consultant, the mere fact of having ornamental pergola surrounding disabled parking is such a bad idea, but the Manager Stergios chose to lie, even thought we had evidence. Don't stay here if you are disabled, and avoid the hotel given their dishonest nature!
Why the title well as soon as you walk through the door Victoria and her team make sure you are made to feel welcome after your busy day. This hotel sits within the old dockyards of the EastEnd one are I knew well as I grew up here! The hotel offers clean rooms convenient for the City of London via the local train station your in West End in 20 mins. The food is very good but limited to the standard fare of a Holiday Inn Express, I know that Paula would gladly serve Pie, Mash & Liquor if she could, with or without Jellied Eels! Thanks again for a wonderful stay I look forward to coming back to be welcomed by Victoria with her cheerful and professional smile!
We have just stayed at the hotel as part of our family trip to London. When looking for a hotel we wanted something at an affordable price, easy to get to in the car and close enough for enjoying the sites in London. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Right next to DLR station and 10 mins from 1st tube station. 30 mins to London Eye. Staff were very friendly, got there before check in but able to put luggage in locked room so we could carry on our days activities. Breakfast - included - is great. Unlimited tea, coffee, cereals, breads and bacon sausage and egg. Perfect start to the day. We had a room facing the car park and didn't hear the planes from City Airport. Only negative was the size of the room - we booked a Family but was just a double bed with pull out sofa bed. Not very comfy and not much room when we were all in the room. All in all a very good hotel to stay at for a trip to London
This is a couple of minutes walk from the Royal Albert station on the DLR. It is a modern hotel. We arrived fairly late, about 10pm and check in was friendly, quick and efficient. It is also a 5 minute taxi ride from London City Airport, which is why we stayed there as we had an early morning flight. The reception is open all night I am advised and they called a taxi that arrived very quickly. The room is as you would expect clean and functionable. I was told we had a room with a view of the river, it had a small window and the river is able to be seen but not well. The air conditioning made the room cooler which was good and the bed was comfy. There were families in a couple of the rooms and they were a bit noisy given the time of night. Children running down the corridor, and noisy in their room when I would have thought they would be asleep like we were trying to get. It did get quieter. We popped down to the bar for a drink. Very good service there too. On my way back to the room I went to the reception desk to get a small bottle of water for £1.50. Someone else was then at the bar and came over to the reception desk. She said she couldn’t ring it up at reception so I would have to have a bottle from the bar. These are glass and she told me it was £1.95. I said I didn’t want to pay £1.95, I wanted the £1.50 bottle. She had already rung up the £1.95 but got a plastic bottle out of the reception fridge. She didn’t seem to know what she was doing so I said I was going to bed and she needed to sort out the bill. On check out there was a £1.95 charge not £1.50 but I didn’t have time as the taxi was outside to get to the airport. I think charging customers of the hotel £1.50 for a small bottle of water is bad and the service I experienced over getting it was also bad. We just had time for a quick breakfast as it opened at 6am. It had all you would want, cooked counter with eggs, sausages bacon etc, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, breads.
