I never usually write reviews but after customer service I received I feel it is very necessary. I booked a room here on the Expedia app, I accidentally opted for the wrong dates. After realising my mistake I called within 10 minutes to cancel the reservation. I was told I could not cancel this reservation, nor could I move the reservation to the days I actually wanted to stay. When I first called the receptionist said it was expedias fault with the cancellation policy. I then called Expedia and spoke to a lady who helped me. We spoke to the hotel manager and he absolutely refused to move the dates for my stay. I have now paid over a £100 for a stay I am unable to make. I understand I picked the wrong dates but to take my money and not even move my reservation I think is appalling, especially when I called within ten minutes Very upset

The bed was simply unsuitable for hotel customer expectations: Uncomfortable futon mattress, and worse it's on an awkward "fold-away" type metal frame that we stubbed our toes on. No nightstands. Room was spacious but furniture was shabby.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Grange. Arrived at 12 noon attended by a very friendly receptionist, our room was ready. Very surprised to find a 4 poster bed in the room which was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Lovely bathroom with a bath/shower and plenty of complimentary toiletries. Tea & Coffee facilities, small sofa with coffee table. We had breakfast on both days, plenty of choice, cereal, fruit, cold meat and a full English available. There was a very nice lounge area with a bar. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. 5 minute walk from the nearest tube, lovely quite area would definitely go again.

I booked 3 nights, 2/16-19/18, through Tripadvisor and got confirmation on 1/20/18, for a total of US$421.61. However when I arrived the evening of 2/16/18 to check in, the hotel DID NOT HAVE A RESERVATION for me. Not a good thing for a 71-yr old woman traveling alone to hear, especially when very tired. Fortunately I had printed a copy of the confirmation, and fortunately the hotel did have a room that they could give me. It was in the basement, so the 'window' looked up at people's feet walking along the street (so you'd want to keep the shade down so no one could look in!), and was where the garbage cans were located so there was a lot of commotion and shouting one morning. The only other problem was it was on the path staff took getting around inside, and there were 2 fire-doors, one on either side of the room -- one of them was quiet but the other banged every time someone went through it. The room itself and the accoutrements were just fine, and it was sure a lot better than finding myself out on the street late at night. The front desk said they would have their office try to get it sorted out with Tripadvisor. But every time I checked back with them, they still were having problems trying to get it resolved, I must have spoken with 6-8 people at the front desk and no one could shed any light, with some staff there very clearly was a language problem which complicated any discussion. Even by the time I checked out, 3 days later, they still had not been able to resolve the problems with Tripadvisor. I was concerned about what exchange rate would be used, and they could not promise me that they would honor the rate Tripadvisor had confirmed to me. Bottom line, when the charge went through on my credit card, they did NOT use the rate Tripadvisor had quoted me. Fortunately, the difference was not huge (about $5) but the whole experience has made me very leery about trusting any reservations to Tripadvisor in the future. Despite the hotel saying they were trying to work it out with Tripadvisor and the rate not being what had been confirmed, I never heard anything from Tripadvisor in the way of an explanation or apology. If this was Tripadvisor's fault, they definitely should apologize; if it was the hotel's fault, Tripadvisor should be sure that whatever corrections are needed have been implemented so this does not happen to any future clients.

Arrived with a friend for a birthday celebration, While the room was tiredly and in. Need of some maintenance it was ok Good distance from China town and Soho It was clean and staff friendly the lift was lovely Art Deco glass could do with the walls painting

I stayed for three nights and was happy to find myself upgraded to a King-sized bed. The hotel does not have a restaurant for meals other than breakfast (which is a good one, though a mite expensive at GBP 17.50). There is room service, though. The staff were friendly, the bar was open all night, and everything went like clockwork except on one day when I returned in the evening to find the room not yet cleaned. But it was unseasonable cold weather with snow, so I overlooked this. Everything about the hotel is good, though one might cavil at the distance to the nearest restaurant if it's snowing! I would certainly like to go there again.

First impressions were very good. The hotel lobby was very clean and the staff were friendly. We were given an upgrade as it was my birthday which was lovely. We didn't have the breakfast there as at nearly £24 We felt thus was very expensive. Our room was roomy .,clean we were at the back so it was quiet. Our only qripe was that there were no plug sockets at the bed side . I like to read my kindle from my phone before sleep and don't like having to get out of bed to put it on charge. The hotel was very close to theatre land , the shops and the London eye was in walking distance. I would gladly return here.

We returned to the Grange White Hall for a two night weekend break for we liked its quiet position in Bloomsbury yet fairly close to the theatres. We found the staff most polite, friendly and helpful, especially with the little things needed for our room. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable with a lovely view over the back garden towards the British Museum. The continental breakfasts included in the deal were more than enough to set us up for a day's enjoyment of the sights. Our plans dictated we ate in the Restaurant for the Sunday evening. We found there was a reasonable choice of menu and our dishes of chicken and lamb, respectively were beautifully cooked and delicious. No room for pud! The young lady who looked after us was brilliant. Overall, the White Hall suited our stay in London. I am sure we shall return, again.

Excellent value and location. Could be much much better with some attention to detail. Would probably go back but will expect things to have improved. A bit disappointed nobody called me after the feedback I gave to reception. I just wanted to be helpful

A very nice looking hotel . It’s nice inside with good decor throughout The room was fine although a bit small. The soundproofing was poor as I heard the lift every time it was used through the night. Breakfast was good / average. They ran out of fresh orange at 8:30am and there was no sugar for the coffee , only sweeteners . However it’s good for the cost and I would come back
