My overall rating for the hotel is a solid 5 stars. It has a great location! A few minutes walk to the train station or bus stop that can take you anywhere within the London area. It is also walkable to Soho, Chinatown and even further depending on how much you want to walk. We also liked how it was not in a busy are like central London. It still gave you a nice neighborhood-feel. The aesthetic of the hotel was something I enjoyed too. I definitely felt like I was in London. Our room did not have a fridge which was disappointing - not sure if it is all rooms. The staff were kind and attentive. Breakfast had a great selection. We stayed for 10 days and we never had any issues. But while I gave 5 stars, I still feel like there is room for improvement in terms of the front desk. We travel a lot, and most hotels have someone who gives a thorough breakdown (sometimes even a map) of suggestions of nearby restaurants, or things to do within the vicinity. Unfortunately, every time we asked for a suggestion, they don't seem to have any or were struggling to give any. They resorted to "googling" - which is something I can easily do. We were looking for a "local's point of view". Other than that, I liked this hotel and will probably stay here if we ever visit London again.

Good, clean, comfortable room apart from the faulty safe in the room that we had to inform them about 3 times and then couldn't use because staff weren't available to change its batteries. We were told 10 mins which turned into 90 minutes and then we were on our way out by the time someone turned up! There was a horrid stentch of drains every time you ran the tap in the bathroom sink. Not great considering we'd booked a superior room. Breakfast was good quality apart from the lack of eggs and being heavily cramped and over-crowded with the poor staff doing their very best to accomodate the guests needs but they were clearly run ragged and very under-staffed. Conceirge service ok but booked a taxi for us which was very late, cost us a fortune even though we had to cut our journey short and walk and then still missed part of our pre-arranged evening entertainment.

Could hear a washing machine all night that kept me awake. Laundry piled up in the corridor directly outside my room. Staff trying to enter my room without knocking. Outdated and bland decore in the room. No pictures on the wall to make up for the fact the view from the window was a wooden fence that looked rotted. Bed was 2 single mattresses pushed together so there was a dip in the middle. Shower leaking in the bathroom.

A nice hotel in a nice area. The building is older, so while they offer great amenities, you can still tell the rooms have seen better days. Walking distance to key tube stops or bus stops.

The bed was horrific. One night here was instant back pain despite no problems before or after when we stayed elsewhere. There was a person complaining while I was checking out that it was unsleepable. The hotel was just all around terrible. Avoid.
