Corus Hotel Hyde Park

My wife and I stayed for one night before our return to the United States. We wish we would have stayed here on our first trip to London. The hotel was clean, close to the Underground, and had excellent air conditioning. The staff was friendly and helpful and check in was easy. The only weird thing was the bathroom, the shower had no curtain so it flooded the entire bathroom, but other than that the room was perfect!

Right across from Hyde Park. Just around corner from tube station and bus stops. Location made it so easy to get around London sites. Would definitely stay here again! Concierge services were excellent!

We stayed in an executive double room that was large and had been recently modernized,Paddington station around 5 min walk away.Really great location.Strongly recommend the restaurant for breakfast and dinner.

Stayed here for a few days and will be back in july. Rooms lovely, staff helpful and pleasant, excellent location to travel from. Can hardly wait to return!!!

Restaurant food was good but pricey.Cofree very strong.rooms very small

IT is a great location, close to the tube and buses. A short walk to many sites. The staff is always great, not just the desk staff, but the maintenance and maids are so nice! Our hair dryer broke and the sent up a new one immediately. Then we could not get our safe to open, again they were there quickly to help fix our problem. I especially enjoyed the piano player, it was nice to stop at the bar have a night cap and relax with his music.

all examination rigt away inspection your room talk from room very expensive

Hotel is right by underground. Room was small but fine. Breakfast was really great. Staff very nice. My only negative is that the walls are very thin so you can hear everything in the hall. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

Pleasant and conveniently located, overseeing Hyde Park, one stop to Marble Arch beginning of Oxford Street, and one subway stop to Bayswater area with plenty of places to eat and food variety. Hotel looks great on the outside, and pleasant staff. But once you step off the elevator, the squeaky floors, winding corridors lead to our small room that was odd shaped room and clearly is due for renovating. The door jambs and parts of the bathroom were clearly left overs probably from when the building was built. And the television control wasn't fully functional.

Old furniture Room is too, too small for the price with no view Ladies on the Reception were excellent and so friendly yet, the guy on the concierge was so bad, did want to help , it seems he does not like people visiting his country. I was wondering , if you do not like to see foreign people , why did you work in a hotel ? I am paying you for your service, you are not giving me charity! He was giving me those discriminating looks despite my big smile every time I pass by the door. My advice to the hotel owners : Do not hire psycho people

I have stayed here several times. When planning a trip Corus is always my first choice. I did stay at another hotel and on one of my trips it was unavailable so we tried the Corus and never returned to the other hotel. It has a great location. Rooms are clean and the staff (from the front desk, waiters to the maids) are first class. To me it is exactly what I would expect from a London hotel and then some. There is easy access to both bus and underground. It is just a quick walk to the railway station.( I am not a big walker and I have no problem getting to the station) Having Hyde park across the street is a real bonus. I look forward to returning to the Corus next year.

This hotel was the perfect place to crash after busy day touring. The wifi was adequate for planning and researching the next day's activites. Everything was clean and the staff were very helpful. It is close to the Lancaster Gate tube station which made it easy to connect to anywhere in the city.

The hotel photographs when we booked were deceiving. On arrival at the hotel we felt like we were in the middle of a construction zone as there was scaffolding on the adjacent building. The small ramp to access the hotel from the path outside the hotel was a little uneasy. We had to push a baby stroller over the ramp which was a little shaky. At times felt the hotel staff were unsure or not confident in their ability to answer questions. The customer service was okay but needs improvement. Don't know if this was a language barrier. On our last night we experienced a plumbing problem in our bathroom. When reporting the issue to the reception staff it was dealt with promptly by supervisor and we were transferred to another room. However, there were drainage problems in the bathtub with the next room we were transferred to! Would highly recommend that the facilities management at the hotel investigate to see if there are additional problems The cleanliness of the rooms were excellent and this is the one good point where the hotel scored higher. Housekeeping staff do an outstanding job. We ate breakfast at the hotel on our last day - not good. Unsanitary practices with the presentation of food - no tongs to handle pastries. Quality of food was mediocre and it took the kitchen staff a while to replenish hot foods at the buffet table. Coffee was good and we liked the individual coffee presses which the coffee was served in. In all, there are areas for improvement. Our hotel phone did not work in our room which may have been unsafe? We could not contact the front desk had there been an emergency. If it had not been for the cleanliness of the rooms our stay would have been less than comfortable.

Small rooms, reasonable rates, could have been cleaner. Poor drinks, mostly nice staff, great hair dryer. Good neighborhood with great pub nearby...Mitre!

We got to the hotel only to realize it was under construction. The only highlight of the hotel was it's reasonably priced breakfast buffet.

The hotel is under renovation which was not stated but that was fine, no noise woke us up. The room was tiny but air-conditioned and cleaned well daily. The hotel is by an underground station and right off Hyde Park which was great for travel. The concierge was not very friendly both times I tried to ask him something but the reception desk was friendly.

The Chorus Hotel Hyde Park has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The staff was always polite and very helpful. We booked an executive double or viceroy room. It was worth the extra cost. We got a larger room on floor 5. The room had a closet, beverage bar with espresso machine, tea maker, and French press. They provided biscuits (cookies) for tea time and also serviced the room daily. At night when returning from the conference my wife and I were at, the duvet was turned down and there were chocolates on our pillows. My wife loves chocolate. The hotel is really close to Lancaster Station on the Tube Central Line which made it very convent to get around London. On the 4th if July I was at the concierge desk getting tickets when I heard the pianist playing America the Beautiful. I will stay there again if I have the opportunity to go to London.

Central London hotels are such a gamble. Many are total dumps. The Corus is really clean, bright, efficient and modern and no funny business or any of that dumpiness and damp typically associated with English hotels on a budget.

Greatly disliked this hotel. The room had a stale smell and the bed was terribly uncomfortable. WiFi was free but you could only use it for a certain amount of time per day.

I chose the hotel for its proximity to Paddington (Heathrow Express) and Hyde Park, nearby tube station, and good bus route. After reading reviews of 10+ hotels in this Lancaster Gate area, this seemed like the best option overall. The room and bath were small but fine for one person, very clean and comfortable, quiet, with a good free Wifi connection, and helpful staff. I didn't use the restaurant, bar, or lounge areas but they seemed nice as well.
