Booked this last minute and picked it based on being close to highway on my way to Windsor from Toronto. Was arriving at 11pm. Called hotel to let them know and everything at check in was great. Although it was late I was greeted with a nice smile and a warm hello. Hotel is dated, but very clean. Room was also dated, but also very clean and cozy. The best part about the room? The bed! Very comfy. Choice of a firm or soft pillow as well. Breakfast in the morning was also very good with some hot and cold foods as well as coffee and juice. Overall, a great stay. and would highly recommend!
This seems to be a pretty busy property so maybe it's got some appeal. As for me, I drove by the place in the dark three times because the sign was not lit. The desk staff said that someone else had mentioned it a week ago - I guess it wasn't a big deal. When I checked in, I went to my room, where I found an empty facial tissue box and a soda bottle and used tissue in the trash. The desk chair was torn. Also, for some reason there is a very nice electrical and USB charger at the bedside table but nothing at the desk! You can't even plug in the coffee maker that sits on the desk!! The bed was adequate, the AC sounded like a freight train at times and the room was fairly small. If you get it at a good price it might be worth it but there are more competitive properties in London, in my opinion.
My wife and I drove all day from our Michigan vacation and we were tired - looking forward to a comfortable room at the Comfort Inn. We checked in after 7:00 PM after making a reservation with Comfort Inn reservations. We are seniors who have traveled many places in the US and Canada but we never experienced a rude, discourteous front desk. I have a physical disability and park in handicap parking. When we checked in the desk gave a 2nd floor room with NO elevator or staff to assist us. We explained that we could not get our luggage to the second floor and asked for a 1st floor room. There was a $25 charge to move to the lower floor. We called Comfort Inns and were given another hotel that could accommodate our needs BUT this Comfort INN would charge us $65 to cancel our reservation. Bottom Line: we paid the $25 to move to the first floor. Never again at this Comfort Inn.
We stayed for one night for a get away. We had a queen room and it was very clean and comfortable. There is a fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, coffee maker with coffee and tea. (there is also 24 hour coffee service by the front desk). The only thing we found annoying was that the people next door were smokers and were outside in the parking lot about every hour smoking and making noise---we just turned up the tv !! If you would like to avoid this I suggest asking for a room on the second floor. Other that that everything was excellent----and I understand that you can't stop people from smoking :)
We stayed here for an overnight as part of a longer drive, and it was fine. The rooms were clean, but very small. The staff was friendly and efficient. The only negative was that there was no pool for kids to burn off energy after a drive, but the convenience to the highway, the value, and cleanliness made it fine for an overnight stop.
My wife and I stayed several times in early 2017 and it was very clean and an overall nice stay. The breakfast room was always hectic in the mornings and there's a long line for the waffle machine. This hotel could use a second one for sure. The rooms are basic but what you would expect to get for the price that you pay.
I stayed at the comfort Inn on wellington street March 18th for the chris stapleton concert. I was with 1 other friend and our stay was great. Check in was very smooth and quick. There was a sliding door from our room to the parking lot although there wasn't a spot near our room it was still good. The beds were super comfortable. There was a microwave and mini fridge in our room. There were weird noises which we couldn't figure out where they were coming from but once we fell asleep it didn't matter. Our bathtub looked like it could have used a good scrub but that didnt bother us,other then that, rooms were clean and nice. Breakfast was right across the hallway from our room which had lots of juice options and a waffle maker, fruit cups, cereal, bacon, sausages, pastries etc. Lots to chose from. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stayed here again. Front desk staff were polite and helpful, gave us a taxi number and told us where we could get food after the concert.
Location is great, being close to 401 expressway and many good quality restaurants. But that is where it ends.. We stay mostly in Comfort Inns and this was number nine on our current trip.. we had been staying in Comfort Suites, which mostly were newer facilities, so going to the London ON facility, experiencing old style rooms, dirty corners and a bath tub with an anti-skid mat that had black along the edges made us very uncomfortable. The black could have been dirt or mold, either way it was imbedded and part of the fixture. We were on first floor and sliding door to outside was barely lockable.... the heating unit was the old wall style with all the letter to control temp unreadable.. some red paint was added to suggest which side was heat vs. cold.. ???Need I go on? This establishment needs a MAJOR overhaul. We would not recommend anyone staying at this location...
We stayed 2 nights and not sure if we would stay again. We got a renovated room but it seems only the bathroom vanity and mirror were new? We weren't sure what else was renovated. The room was very tiny. The bed was comfortable and the heat worked great. The tub was a dirty and could have used a good scrub. The breakfast was pretty standard and good. Someone was smoking in the stairwell and it smelled disgusting for the entire weekend. The cigarette was picked up but the ash was left all over the stairwell. Again, motel was basic. If you just need a place to rest your head as you are driving through London than this place serves it purpose for you.
I'll preface my review by saying that our room was clean, and cleaned the next day of our stay. I have no problems with that area at all. What I will say, is that I find it's more suitable to those who are in town for hockey tournaments or dance recitals. The rooms are small, dated, with some expected amenities...coffee/tea maker, tv w/remote, wifi didn't work on our second day, there are ample thick towels with, if I recall, a shampoo and moisture cream, as well as 2 small soaps. The beds were comfortable, with 4 pillows on each bed, linens were fine, and we did sleep well except when seveal people left their rooms at 5am and didn't account for the fact that the room doors slam shut. We didn't sleep past 5am the morning of our second day. I would suggest that if the staff suspect workers have to leave at that hour of the morning, they situate them at the far ends of the halls. Breakfast was fine if you aren't particular...we had yogurt and orange juice. The first morning was crowded with kids, so no seating was available in the small area dedicated as a 'breakfast room'. The coffee was.....not enjoyable at all. I wish I could be more positive because it is a fairly well maintained little hotel, 2 floors, the first a motel-type arrangement, and 2 sets of stairs to the second floor. It's fine for a family or for tournaments, but certainly not one that couples who want to experience London should choose. it's not a 'romantic' hotel at all. As to the front desk staff, some of them ventured a 'good morning' or ''hello', others kept their heads down or chatted together at their front desk. If you can get this for under $100, it would be fine for a night or two.
