A short walk to Natural History museum, V A museum, Science museum. Hotel good, near two Underground stations

The room was extremely small. Location Vegas good, even though internet service was a paid service, the quality was poor.

This hotel did not meet my expectations. The lobby was fabulous. The hall way of floor where my room was smelled like mold and mildew. The room #505 it also smelled like mold. When we left the room we left the window open in 40 degree weather hoping to rid it of that smell. The bathroom had recently been remodeled. It was nice and had a nice shower. The carpet on the floor was old, the mattress was lumpy and was about 4 inches tall, no box spring. You had to pay for Internet on each device, high price for one hour. And when I asked the front desk to call a cab for the airport and asked them for the flat rate they gave me a rate that was significantly higher than the rate given me when I called a company from the yellow pages. The TV cable was broken. I was so disappointed in everything, but the location was fabulous! Close to the tube and a bus ride away from all the free museums! And excellent shopping. I would do London again in a heart beat, but NEVER The Ambassador Hotel!

I think the Hotel is overpriced, we booked a room with 2 twin beds for 2 adults, we got a tiny room with 2 twin beds but attached one to the other because of the lack of space in between, not enough space for two luggage, beds sink when you lay on because of the poor quality of the bed frames. The hotel was Super WARM (HOT like an Oven) and we called to ask them to lower the temperatura, they said that wasn´t posible and they sent us a small electric fan which helped just a bit, yes, you can open the Windows but only an inch, no more because of the way they are made... If you can find another hotel i would highly recommend to do so!! They don´t offer complimentary internet, not even in the Lobby!! You have to pay them per hour or day.... almost every hotel in London offers free internet... Soap and body wash they provide you are the same quality of the ones you can find at Motels.

tiny room with no real amenities, only 19" tv. charges for internet & breakfast. double bed was two twin mattresses pushed together... would never stay here again

I have never been compelled to write a review for a hotel on this site, or a product on any site for that matter in general. This hotel offers extreme value in a good location in London. This is probably why most of you are looking at it. It's exactly why I looked at it. But in my opinion, the bad far outweighs that perceived value. 1. Room. Listen, I wasn't expecting much considering it was offering a single/twin bed. But this room was less than 100 sq ft and smaller than any dorm room I've ever stayed in during my college years. 2. Noise. You can hear, EVERYTHING, that anyone does. above you, below you, either side of you, and most especially through the door into the hallway, which is as if there's zero privacy whatsoever. If you're a light sleeper, keep looking. 3. Privacy. As a follow up on privacy, one night during my stay, two guests were given a key to my room by the front desk (accidentally I'm sure, but seriously?) and they walked right in on me because apparently the deadbolt does nothing. I literally thought I was being robbed/killed. They were eastern European (not that there's anything wrong with that) and I didn't understand anything they were saying which made it even more awkward as they stood outside my door talking after I shut it on them. This was at 2AM by the way and woke me from a dead sleep. The next morning I left a day early and went to the Hilton. 4. WiFi. 1 pound for an hour, 5 pounds for 24 hours. Signal in lobby decent, signal in room non-existent and a waste. (sidenote: bought a 24 hour connection and it lasted for 72, so don't pay for it twice) Conclusion, the staff were pleasant, it was a great location for what I needed to do, but I'd never stay there again and would rather spend hundreds more to get a proper space.

I will say that the hotel is in a great location - only 2 minute walk to the Earl's Court Tube station, and in the Kensington area - which is really nice - however, my room was the smallest room I've ever stayed in, and the noise from the hall made it feel as if people were about to enter your room at any minute. When I asked to change to a location a bit less noisy, the clerk informed me that I had a "deluxe" room - and the other available would not be as nice. The bathroom was so small that I had to kneel on the toilet to brush my teeth, and forget about closing the door - think airplane bathroom and you have it about right.

This hotel is in a great location a easy jet shuttle took us from airport to hotel and back for 10 euros. Laundry across street musems and hyde park in walking distance right by tube which will take you everywhere in 30 minutes. Gurfunkels restaurant down street was wonderful.

Close to the tube, rooms are small but clean, staff not very friendly

I read more than 100 reviews before booking this hotel. Other hotels of the same quality and in the same area were as much as three times the price. Great location! Short walk to Gloucester Tube station. One block from major street but very quiet. Staff extremely helpful and quick to resolve any problems. Room was small but that's to be expected in Europe. No air conditioning, but it wasn't too hot (June). View from the window was the back side of other buildings but we were only in the room to sleep so it wasn't a problem for us. We will definitely stay there again.

Located in an area that is about 3 blocks away from the underground. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room, similar to most rooms in England, was small. Bathroom was small but modern and clean with updated showerstall, however, no towel bar or place to hang clothing items when using the facility. Also no luggage rack to place suit cases. Accessed suitcases on the floor.

As far as staying in the Kensington area.... this place is a gem.

Room was a little larger than a shoe box. Paid internet wifi barely had enough signal. Later in the evening, internet was completely down. Staff did not offer any alternative help. We were not able to confirm our reservations with the airline. Not thinking Sunday schedule, they told us the subway service to airport would be available after 6:00AM thus leaving us stranded at the station until 7:00AM

Very nice and clean hotel. Quite a small room with lack of space to put your things. But newly renovated and quite a nice style. Cleaning of room was perfect, with clean towells every day. Nice staff. No hessitation to recommondate this hotel, and will go back to stay there anytime.

The room was very clean and the staff was nice. But there was always a wait to talk to one of them. They are remodling inside the lobby so it was load in the room. The location wasn't to far from the undergrounds, but it would have been nicer to be just a block or to from an enterance.

The room was nice no street noise. There was a bit of noise from the hallway has people came back to their rooms but I didn't notice any of this after 10pm. The location was very nice in a residential area there were several nice restaurants within half a block. The best Indian dinner I've had in years was at the Delhi Brasserie on Cromwell Rd. Just around the court from this hotel.

Very friendly staff, very clean rooms. Hotel and rooms are typical European so don't expect big American style rooms with air conditioning. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the underground, The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum. It is also just 10 to 15 minutes on the underground from most London sites and attractions.

Room was small with no air-conditioning. Window opened at the very top so no air circulation in the room. It was close (2 blocks) from catching the underground train which gives you affordable acccess to all of London. Sights we went to: the London Eye, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Thames River walk, museum and used Eurostar to go to Brussels.

Most of the staff was friendly, but one of the guys at the front desk, when I asked about internet usage he answered saying my phone would not work ( for wi-fi) and he didn't even know what phone I had, then I asked how much was to use the hotel's internet and he answered saying it was too expensive. Rude. When I decide to ask things to another employee he would come in the conversation and answer for the other employee. I was dressed normally like a turist does, shorts, nice t-shirt and camera on chest. Go figure...If a hotel employee in London is not used to tourists and people with money to use the internet, what kind of travelers does he expect to host? But that was one guy only, the rest of the staff was very friendly.
