Booked last minute as I needed to visit the US Embassy. Perfectly located - a short walk from Paddington station and Hyde Park. Which was a beautiful stroll in the morning to the embassy. Staff were pleasent and friendly - Happy for us to leave luggage behind and collect later in the day even after check out - save us lugging around all day shopping! Hotel offered discounted vouchers at reception - quite handy! Room was a decent size; all the amenities. Nothing more to be said! :)
This place is simply perfect! I have been there for the second time and again it was exactly perfect as the first time I went. I can say that the ABC Hyde park hotel is in a strategic position as it is very in the center of London and exactly one minute walking to paddington station, bekerloo line always available so very frequent and open until late during the weekends. Close to the hotel you have several restaurants choices for all your tastes! Amazing bars around and Hyde park and green park just by the corner to let you have a wonderful ride or walk into the charming British parks! I must say that a place itself cannot be that wonderful just because of the position and the facilities it has got, a place can be perfect if the STAFF is able to give you a perfect service. And these guys and girls working for ABC HYDE PARK HOTEL are so lovely and helpful. The really want you to be happy and feel home. I will never stop thanking Ahasan for such a service and help he always gives me, as this is my second time in this hotel. Ahsan as all the staff are very kind and friendly and want you to feel home. I do thank you again for such a stay. This is my second time and will not be the last one!!! This is my favorite hotel in London!!! Perfect price, amazing location, very nice food and cleanliness and "wow" service by the staff! I do not need more that is perfect for me! Highly recommended for all kinds of stay.
Stayed on a Friday night. Recent review is correct. It is mire like a b&b and my room was like an 80s spare room Breakfast was in a tiny-basement room. Where I had to share a table. But with two lovely ladies from Israel That said. Value for money definitely bathroom was nice. Room had kettle. To. Hairdryer. All you could need. Staff were friendly. You get what you pay for and I only paid £50. Would stay again
This hotel is on a pretty street a few minutes from Paddington tube and a short walk from a number of pubs and restaurants. We stayed in room 38 which was small and at the top of 8 flights of stairs. There is no lift. It was very clean, the staff friendly and there was plenty of food for breakfast in the small breakfast room which was down more stairs. Not for those with mobility issues but a pleasant change from uniform bog standard chain hotels
Great location very close to Paddington Tube Station. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were lovely. Even when I broke a key!!! Would recommend staying here for cost, cleanliness and location.
At first I was disappointed with the allocated room . However , the staff were very helpful they did everything in their power to relocate me into a better room. At the end of the day I left a happy customer . This hotel has low points that the rooms are quite small and that you can hear everything going on in the rooms upstairs and next to you ... hahaha . However it has two very strong positive points , very convenient you can literally walk to Hyde park , marble arch and oxford street that's fantastic , morning run in Hyde park is a must and secondly the Breakfast is absolutely fantastic ...
I had booked the room for my 70 year old mother. She needed a place which was comfotable yet easy access to sightseeing, shopping, restaurants etc. She was delighted with ABC Hyde Park Hotel. Though its a small hotel, it was very comfortable, the staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good and hearty and she could walk to most places around. Even access to the Big Bus Tour was easy. Except the person at the front desk goofed up on booking her a taxi to the airport. She had asked him to book her a taxi for the evening, which he seemed to have forgotten . However the evening shift person immediately arranged for a taxi and she could get to the airport in time. So all in all a good stay. They didnt have any of the adapters or converter plugs electric sockets and my mum had plugs that work according to Indian sockets. So even though they had free wi fi , she could not use it as her laptop was out of battery
I was in this hotel for one night to see London for the first time. My expectations of a hotel basically is about reasonable pricing, friendly staff, a comfortable bed, free WiFi, public transportation in reach, and: a good coffee in the morning - not more, not less. The rooms are very tiny, including the wardrobe. No air condition, ventilation is done by yourself handling radiator and window (I like this much better than a loud AC I have experienced in many luxury hotels). The furniture is old-fashioned, but well-kept. A desk is missing (my single-room was just too small), but was not essentially needed for my short trip. You might bring an extension cable for the water boiler (unless you want to put in on the ground). Too, the staff was very friendly and uncomplicated. WiFi ran at good speed (streaming is no problem), the breakfast is provided in the basement. Also quite narrow, some might miss the scrambled eggs, but all in all very rich. Parts of it still hand-made and tasty. The coffee is the strongest I ever had in British hotels - very good! In fact, the hotel is rather a B&B (Germans like me call this "Hotel Garni" ;-) ). But don't worry. Reasonable restaurants are all around (from KFC style up to expensive steak houses - many international takeaways in between). 5 minutes to Paddington station in northern direction, 5 minutes to Hyde Park in the south. All in all, the hotel was able to fulfill all my demands for a trip as short as this. Plus, it is a fancy location, which fulfills some clichees about British architecture of the Victorian age. Presumably it would have been good for one or two more days. For a week I would choose a hotel with a larger room. I don't know if there are better hotels for the same price. For the relatively central location, I think it is still a good price. More comfort would be more expensive - you still get what you pay for. I have already been in much more expensive hotels which disappointed me much more. I like it old-school, though.
When we arrived we were given Room 1 in the basement but had read a not so good review for that room so we asked for a room in the main building and was given Room 28. The male receptionist was very helpful. Soundproofing was not good and we were woken on our first morning at 07.30 by the sound of water coming through the ceiling from the room above's shower. We did report the issue but nothing was done and the same happened the following morning. Staff were pleasant but will not be staying again.
Comfy hotel in a great location. I stayed in London for a couple of days (not my first time in the City) and this was one of the best solutions for accomodation ever (price vs quality). The room size is ok (double room) and the bathroom had been recently renewated with a big shower cabin. Quiet, close to public transports (Paddington underground & train station; bus to Stansted) and nice area just a few minutes north of Hyde park. Lot of good & cheap places for eating nearby too!
