Wow. As a Melia gold member, I have come to expect a certain quality of hotel and service when I stay at Melia's. Not here. The hotel is a 3 star representing itself as 4 star. No King size beds. A Queen if you are lucky. You want English speaking channels on your TV-forget it! Breakfast--I had a tomato. If you are vegan, pescatarian or gluten free, skip the breakfast here, you will starve. Good location on the beach but that's about it. A parking nightmare too. The type of place where people put their towels on the limited number of pool lounge chairs beginning at 6 AM. The pool had so many kids in it, it was unusable.
The hotel is nice, bút better eat outside. It was a portugues grill night in the hotel the set up was nice bút the food was under the limit. ( Thank God the real portugues food nothing like that. The breakfast has a kor of choice, nice, except waiting in a lóng line just tó get a coffe. When finally is my turn, the ground container is full őr rum out of water, long waiting for someone come and fix it.(? Play that every day(( Only good thing is the hotel is on 1 of the best position)
This hotel is good if you are a keen surfer. Beach front and sandy beach, however, too cold and windy to swim. I'm not sure if its unusual weather or always like this, i just couldn't bear to swim. The hotel pool is too small and cold that'll make it 3 star. Rooms are ok, clean and tidy. Sea front will even be better. If you intend to make it all inclusive, you'll be disappointed. The poorest food variety i ever been to. 4 dishes max inc. Pasta and rice 2 hot dishes and some salads. You are only free of drinks inside the rest. @ meal time. Even at the pool its chargeable. As a whole the whole area is not the usuall tourist atmospbere. Nothing to do around except walking along the beach which is amazing. No clubs or night life what so ever. Maybe in my old age as a pensioner i might go back for some tranquilty. However, City of Lisbon is not too far, €20 to 25 taxi fare will get you there and bus€5.00 return if you came back early.
My review is simple. See the photos. Please note that this hotel has rooms that are safe and habitable and some that are dangerous and uninhabitable. You will see nails sticking out of the walls at heard height plus electrical sockets hanging out and dropping out of the walls. I have given Mr Eduardo Lima my comments card as we still in the hotel and I have left my contact number for the management to come and view my serious concerns. I also retain the option to report to the Portuguese tourism board.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a beach side location with plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area. The hotel is spotless and all the staff are friendly professional and courteous. I do have three negative comments which may be in part due to the location of our standard double room but I feel that irregardless of our room choice we should have been able to sleep and wash with ease and this was not the case. We were overlooking a side street and the noise up to 2.30 and later was terrible. We did sort it the following morning with ear plugs. The bathroom needs upgrading and it's quality is in stark contrast to the hotel itself. The tiles surrounding bath and grouting need replacing but the SHOWER !.... dreadful. It kept falling off the wall and was totally unfit for purpose. Lastly each time the lift arrived at our floor it emitted a double bell sound which during the day is fine but 12 am onwards is unacceptable. In conclusion we really liked the hotel and plan to return but will be ensuring that our room is away from noise and that it has a fully functioning bathroom.
Nice hotel right on the beach, I had a room on the 6th floor and the view was amazing especially at sunset. Breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful. Restaurants in the area are ok, not great but it was ok for a short stay.
It seems this hotel has been recently upgraded. The rooms were beautiful. Great breakfast buffet. Expensive, but nice bar. Beautiful pool, and literally steps to the beach. It seems this is definitely the nicest place in this little beach town and we thought it was a great value.
Everythin bbq perfect. Take the bus to lisbon it takes 20 minutes and you are in one of the prettiest cities in Europe with a rich history.the food is as you expect. Great fish a d seafood. Weather was spot on. The hotel is superbly located and service in the cafeteria is excellent. Can't say enough about those beaches. So very peaceful. I went alone to recharge and I came back to Montreal ready to continue my daily routine thinking all the time that I'm going again next year Try the bar around 5.30 both the guy and the girl are absolutely wondderful.
Stayed one night. Room is fairly basic and quite tired. The quilt when the sheet came off in the morning had what I hope was a coffee stain, if I had seen it before I spent the night I would not have slept in it. The bathroom extractor did not seem to be working, the shower door did not stay shut against the bath edge and had to be leant on whilst showering. The bath pop up plug was missing and although we asked reception it never appeared, so I had to try and shower without getting my hair wet, due to lack of time before an appointment, this was made difficult as the shower door had to be held to keep sealed and no shower cap was provided. This is definitely not 4 star. The breakfast was OK and the location. I would not stay again.
This was a fantastic - great value hotel - breakfast was varied and plentiful with a choice of 2 different dining areas - the busy ground floor or the roof top terrace which was surprisingly peaceful. great location for the resort and easily the best looking hotel on the stretch - would definitely return
