The location of the hotel is in the center, everything is within walking distance. Very small room, the window doesn't open totally becaus of the tv hanging in front of it. It was clean at first sight... Nice interior, free water (Evion) in the room every day. Friendly staf, helpfull. Breakfast at friday was sloppy; short on knives, milk was empty, only 2 fruits, no service... Breakfast in the weekend was good; everything got filled, a waitress who refilled. Products are from brands like; President, Bonne Maman, Kiri...
Staff was very friendly. We had a nicely decorated twin room at the highest floor, under the rooftop. We had a view from our bedroom window at the back of the cathedral and the rooftops of Lille. The bathroom was at the frontside and fairly spacious. There was no airco, but we didn't mind that very much although the temperature was high. By opening the windows at the front and back we could get some fresh, cool air. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was very good, compared to what you usually get in France. There was a buffet with a sufficient choice in bread, fruits, yoghurt, cereals, etc. Good value for money. Very near to the hotel, when you walk across the square along the right side, is a street with a lot of bars, like cocktailbars and belgian beers, and a bit further on the rue de Gand you find cosy little bistro's called estaminets.
We were visiting the university for a conference, and this hotel was ideally located. Also, it was quite charming, and the staff very helpful and friendly. They even keep several umbrellas at the door, which we had occasion to borrow a few times. The breakfast was also excellent!
Step out your door and back in time. The historic town is very scenic and vibrant. The staff is great, breakfast was very nice and the location could not be better if you want historic and scenic area. shops, food, sights within steps. The rooms are small but had nice toiletries. If you don't mind small and a bit of noise this hotel works out great. Theo welcomed me in and made great recommendations( he was a very nice man) for food and drinks.
Hotel de La Treille is a perfect hotel - friendly staff, rooms that include all amenities you'd hope for, a lovely bath, comfy beds, great design features that shows they have really paid attention to create a lovely atmosphere, a really tasty breakfast... I can't fault it really! It's also right in the centre of Lille, in walkable distance of the Eurostar, and near lots of restaurants and bars.
We stayed at Hotel de la Treille twice during our trip. It is perfectly located in downtown Iille, close to all the restaurants and historical sites. The rooms were very clean, beds comfortable. It is noisy at night if you have a front room but the back rooms near the Cathedrale are very quiet. The breakfast is be nice, complete and generous! We will stay there again if we travel through Lille.
Great Hotel, friendly staff. Rooms are relatively small though. Location is great (although noisy) with a lot of restaurants in the surrounding area. The nearest parking (Indigo underground parking lot) is very expensive at €24.60 a day and Sundays are free.
Really fantastic location near enough to the tourist attractions yet also some off the beaten track places to eat/drink. Clean rooms that were really nicely decorated and although small we don't go away to stay in the room so we found it perfect! Staff were very friendly and helpful and only a 10-15 minute poodle to the eurostar! We can't comment on the food as didn't eat in the hotel but very pleased with our stay.
Great location, right in the heart of Lille , walk outside and your on the streets with shops and restaurants near by! The hotel was clean and most of the staff were polite but not all. Lovely decorated down stairs, the bedrooms weren't as nice when you went up to them, they had no fridge or tea and coffee facilities in the room which was a bit of a inconvenience!
The room was small but okay. The breakfast was the worst I'd ever had in a Hotel, even with less stars. Nobody explained the "do it yourself " setup first morning, staff were very scarce and not even seen on second morning. There was an empty kettle to make your own tea, finally managed to get some water in it. I don't really have too much of a problem making my own hot drink but the least the staff could do is keep it filled with water or water available next to it! Next day I even found a real pot that I wasn't made aware of. There were 4 cereals to choose from (I don't like muesli so I was vert limited) but NO MILK in the jug. I had to wait by the kitchen door for quite awhile to get this filled, jug in hand. Others were actually going into the kitchen. Terribly poor choice of food, the small amount if hot food looked very unappetising & someone had left the lid open, to reveal very dried up looking scrambled eggs & all bacon gone. The worst thing for me was NO toaster, I've never had breakfast in a hotel without toast. I ended up eating dried bread, which was nice and some fruit. I tried an espresso which were available on request, when you could find someone to ask but it was nothing like a real espresso, terribly weak and I left it. It's actually put me off having B&B, in an area with plenty of cafés about in future I will go room only!
