Stayed here with 3 friends in an apartment suite. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from Lille Eurostar station, close to the Grand Palais exhibition centre. Not great for a city centre visit but OK, taxi to the centre was 6 euros if you didn't want to walk. Great breakfast was the saving grace, lovely fresh breads, meat, cheese, croissants, eggs, yoghurts, juices and hot drinks from a buffet. Good quality and copious amounts. Room basic standard, clean, large shower, a few French TV channels, all reasonable against the value. Staff were very helpful and tried to sort a problem we had, also good quality of English spoken. Thanks Michelle!!
Kind and polite staff, easy access, location close to the ring road, clean, quiet and warm room, nice and adequate breakfast, free wi-fi, private parking, value for money. Not 24h reception, no room service.
We used this apartment for our visit to Lille for the football match between Wales and Belgium. It is within walking distance of the main Train and Bus Station. You can also take the Metro which stops a few hundred yards away. The apartment was clean and tidy. The facilities were good and the breakfast was more than adequate. The prices are reasonable and represent good value for money for those on a budget.
The location of these apartments is very far out of town - at least a 25 minute walk. However, there is a metro station quite close by that is reasonably priced. My main issue with this place is all the hidden charges. For car parking for 4 days we paid an extra €80. Breakfast, has we wanted it would have been more on top of this. Wi-Fi was charged at €2 per person per day - ridiculous! We were also charged extra for cleaning of the room after we checked out, despite us leaving the place spotless (dishes washed, beds stripped and lined folded neatly, bathroom wiped down. Not once during our 4 night stay was the room ever serviced - no clean bedlinen or fresh towels. Upon asking at reception, we could have fresh towels however we would be charged for the privilege. Other gripes include - no kettle, broken dishwasher, freezing cold water on the first day of our arrival (although this was not repeated any other day), no cleaning products supplied to wash dishes and very poor sound insulation. This place may look like a bargain deal, however the hidden costs really add up. Will not be returning.
Staff weren't helpful and seemed to charge for everything. 15€ to park your car in their garage for ONE night is just..what? Despite us booking as a group we had to pay twice for parking due to having two cars. The rooms were dirty and grotty, with a basic table and cooking equiptment (stove, microwave etc). Now we turn our attention to this hotels biggest flaw, outside the windows about a foot away is a HUGE glass window. It seals in the heat so the rooms feel like an oven and amplifies any sound from other rooms. People partying 2 floors down? Go and try and sleep in the middle of their room because it'll be the same volume in your room. Want to get rid of the loud noise of traffic and other rooms outside? Well, be prepared to have no sleep as that glass wall seals in the heat. Just to seal the deal, the wifi is completely unsecured, so if you're an idiot like me and buy something online during your stay there then prepared to be hacked. £100 was stolen from my PayPal account the day after our stay and I'm putting it down to their unsecured wifi. To be honest, you couldn't pay me to stay here again and I wont be going within 100ft of this place again.
Walked about 20 minutes from Lille Europe and found the hotel in an ok area with fair bit of parking and one decent restaurant close by. The room was spacious and had separate kitchen area with fridge/sink/microwave and there was a sliding door onto the balcony. Wifi (paid) & TV were intermittent and the breakfast / dining area adequate but basic. Still not sure how the air conditioning worked. All in all adequate for lads on tour.
I had ever stay hundred hotel in the world, this us the worst hotel ever. I early checked in at noon coz too much tired during flight. Unfortunately, I woke up once, the room's bell was ring. I looked at the door's window but no one outside. Around 5 mins. later, there was bell sound again. I looked at the window again, but no one outside. Then, around 10 mins. later, the 3rd bell ring again. No one outside too. I watched the door window for a long time to see if someone outside or someone ring bell at wrong room. Around 10 mins passed, nothing happened. It seems very strange. So, I decide to open the door to see if there is anyone outside. But no one except housekeeper cleaning other room. I asked here whether she ring my room's bell or see someone ring my room's bell or not. She said no. It was 3 pm already, so I left my room for dinner downtown. When I back room again around 7 pm., surprisingly, my room was messy, all my cloth which is in my luggage and on the shelf was on the floor. The bed cloth and bed lay down on the floor. All shelf was openned. Shower cream, cosmetic, and all the things kept in my small bag was out on the floor. My luggage which was locked, openned and destroyed. My tablet which was kept in my luggage was stollen. And the waste black bag containing waste was gone. So, amazing. I came down to reception, she don't surprise for the matter. I asked hotel manager to go to my room and see what's happened. He said this case had never happened here. No responsibility from the hotel. Seems hotel staff know about the case. I asked manager to help call police man about the matter. He said I have to call by myself and he's going to leave hotel in a few minute. No help from him at all. It's not safe to stay there anymore. So, I keep all thing and left this hotel at around 10 pm to find other hotel to sleep. If I stay there, not sure whether someone to come to my room and ask for money during the night. Ohh, it's the really bad hotel.
I stayed in this hotel at the end of May 2016. After reading the reviews I expected that it will be the worst hotel in my life, but fortunately it was not so bad. The woman at reception had a good English and was friendly. The room was clean enough, with good furniture, and contained everything I need to prepare food (except kettle). TV was good and I managed to switch to English language in a fiction film. There was no outside noise, and I did not hear the motorway since my room was on the opposite side of the building. Though sometimes I heard my neighbors, in fact sound isolation is very weak and I was lucky that my neighbors were calm. Breakfast was good for a budget hotel, many different products, definitely you will not be hungry after breakfast. Demand of 2 euros/day for WiFi was ridiculous.
I've stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and this is the worst one EVER. There were stains and garbage everywhere and cigarette butts all over the windowsill. There was another drunken group partying until early in the morning but the staff did not stop the noise. Disgraceful. Made you feel disgusting to even be in the room, let alone sleep in the bed.
First I had a very unpleasant experience because they have a program at the reception. I arrived Sunday late and nobody was there. It was an adventure because I got a key from a room but I didn't know which room. It took about one hour and a lot of phone calls until I found out which is my room and of course with no chance to change it. The room was clean enough but there was a bad smell. We don't had an opening window, only a door, so, when you are not in the room you can't risk to let that door open and don't have other possibilities to aerate the room. Despite these drawbacks, the rest was quite convenient.
