Amazing Licata

The house was perfect! The whole place and our experience in Licata was magical! Melinda and Beppe were wonderful. I did have two mishaps which they were understanding about. One is that I had a terrible experience being lead on google maps to an area I had no business driving in. The Sicilian folks were amazing and finally some stranger turned my car around which was stuck in the slippery cobbles and helped me out amazingly. Beppe showed up as well to save the day - but told me to call him first next time! The second incident was that we needed to separate the clicker to open the gate from the house key so that we could leave family at home so they could get out of the gate and walk to the beach. The clicker was lost - probably in the sand someplace. We were VERY sorry. I would go back tomorrow if I could. But will try in the future. The view in my head of the ocean puts me to sleep every night! Next is

Fantastisk hus og beliggenhed.

Vi nød en uges ophold i dette fantastiske hus hvor man døgnet rundt kunne slappe af på en af de mange terrasser eller nyde den fantastiske udsigt over havet. Med en super børnevenlig strand for enden af vejen og et super godt pizzeria rundt om hjørnet behøvede vi faktisk ikke meget mere. Faktisk er billederne af huset lidt misvisende. Det er meget bedre end hvad de viser. Licata og området er noget træt og desværre fuldt med skrald, hvilket ødelægger noget af idyllen. Dog vågner byen op om aftenen og har en rigtig autentisk stemning med de mange små restauranter m.m. Helt sikkert et hus vi kan anbefale og gerne lejer igen. Så hvis du er til afslapning med familien og ikke har det store behov for at fare rundt og besøge attraktioner, så er det huset, hvor den store familie kan hygge sig sammen, men hvor man også kan trække sig til sit værelse eller en af de mange terrasser og kroge.

A wonderful stay in every way

Not only was the property and view stunningly beautiful but our hosts were absolutely lovely. They left us a traditional Sicilian meal and a bottle of Prosecco which was enjoyed tremendously after a long journey there. My bag had been lost and Melinda was so helpful in communicating with the airline to help me get my bag back. We feel blessed to have been able to share their home, while in southern Sicily and their kindness went so far above and beyond. We are hopeful we can return again someday!

Great base for a family holiday

Outside space with terraces overlooking the sea is a wonderful setting. Internally the house is furnished in a traditional Italian style with dark wood and dark interiors. Licata is largely an industrial town with no sense of history but the beaches are superb for children

wonderful house not far from beach

we spent a wonderful week in this beautiful house! everything you need for a relaxing time! we specifically enjoyed the generous outside area including outdoor kitchen, the magnificent sea views and the proximity to the beach (5 min. walk) thanks to melinda and giuseppe for the bottle of wine, the warm welcome and the uncomplicated check-in process!!

A little piece of heaven

We stayed on the villa for four weeks as a family – a two-year old and four adults (i.e. parents and grandparents). The set up was perfect. I can highly recommend this villa. Villa. The villa itself is well maintained and nicely and tastefully decorated. The view from the terrace is spectacular and will remain forever in my memories. It is spacious with a few sitting/dining areas. Outdoor kitchen/grill is very convenient. Separate entrance to a second bedroom also allowed privacy for the grandparents. Owners. Always available, super friendly and happy to help with any questions/recommendation. Beach. The beach is a ten-minute walk, but a very steep one on the way back. So a proper cardio workout, especially if you are walking during the day in the heat. The beach itself is excellent: clean sand, smooth entrance, lots of space – even during Ferragosto, although busy, it was still enjoyable. There are a few nice lidos along the beach where you can rent umbrellas/sunbeds – Santamaria and Felix (Felix serves good cocktails). Very few tourists, mainly Italians/locals and some German tourists. Getting around. A car is a must. Licata. The town looks a bit run down, but don’t fall for the first impression. It actually is very cozy and has a lot to offer. A lot of small great places to eat, a few superb restaurants (Bottega, L'Oste E Il Sacrestano, Luna, Madia – two-Michelin star, Cantunera), a few trendy places for morning coffee/aperitivo (Dal Forno Generoso Licata, Drogheria, Caffucino), plenty of grocery stores, pasticerias etc. Services. We were lucky to have Alessia come in almost every day to clean and cook delicious lunches and occasional dinners. She has been of great help in general if we needed something. Super friendly and hardworking.

Wunderschön

Fantastische Lage mit tollem Meerblick. Steiler Hang, der aber in wenigen Minuten direkt zu einem sehr schönen Sandstrand führt. Hasu und Garten sind überaus liebevoll eingerichtet. Die Ausstattung ist geschmackvoll und großzügig. Toller Innenhof mit Außenküche, Grill, Ess- und Loungeberich unter einem schönen Johannesbrotbaum. Wir können die Villa Melina wirklich sehr empfehlen.

Propriété très bien conçue.

La maison se trouve dans une région peu/pas touristique de Sicile mais est bien située pour rayonner sur les sites majeurs du centre et du sud. Très propre et et avec tout le confort nécessaire pour y vivre à six par tous les temps, les terrasses sont particulièrement bien aménagées pour profiter de chaque moment de la journée. Peut-être pas idéal avec quatre enfants en bas âge, car l'une des chambre a son entrée autonome. Certes, les chiens aboient la nuit dans cette région, mais on s'y habitue. La plage se trouve à une dizaine de minutes à pied et est idéale pour tous publics (sable et profondeur qui décroisse lentement). Nous y étions en automne, le temps et la mer étaient chauds et il y avait très peu de monde. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et basent la relation sur un principe de confiance très agréable. Ils sont immédiatement disponibles en cas de besoin. A recommander.

Quiet beautiful place with everything you need

The location and home are much better than the photos. I highly recommend this place Licata has fabulous restaurants but we also cooked at home and enjoyed looking at the beautiful view while eating our food. Outdoors there were two wonderful sitting areas where we could relax. The beds were comfortable. Come for at least four plus nights I want to come back for a week. It felt like home and the owner made us feel like family

Settembre a Licata

La villa è veramente fantastica, dotata di tutti i confort e arredata meravigliosamente. Gli spazi esterni sono curatissimi, propongono una splendida vista sul mare, sono contornati da piante e fiori rigogliosi e coloratissimi e hanno dei punti luce veramente suggestivi per le serate da passare nel dehor per cena o aperitivi, sotto un grande carrubo che offre una gradevole ombra anche per la colazione del mattino. I proprietari sono molto socievoli ed accoglienti, senza essere per nulla invasivi. Disponibili a qualsiasi richiesta, trovano il tempo per soddisfarla senza vincolare assolutamente il tempo degli ospiti. La villa è stata consegnata pulitissima e perfettamente funzionante in tutti i suoi accessori. Infine, si affaccia su una via che in 10 minuti a piedi (discesa un po' erta in verità) porta alla splendida spiaggia di Marianello Che dire di più? Niente, solo consigliarla caldamente e, se possibile, ritornarci

Pragtfuldt hus og værtspar

Vi ankom meget sent, men blev taget imod og hjulpet på plads på en yderst venlig og generøs måde. Huset ligger med en fantastisk udsigt over havet, og stranden er i høj grad den stejle vej op og ned værd. Licata er ved første øjekast en klassisk uprætentiøs italiensk provinsby, men ganske charmerende ved nærmere øjesyn. Inden for relativ korte køreture finder man Ragusa, Siracusa, græske tempelruiner, romerske mosaikker og smukke køreture i bjergene. Huset er yderst velindrettet og omgivet af dejlige terrasser. Anbefales varmt!

Fantastica Location

Melinda and Giuseppe are the perfect hosts. There was water some soft drinks and the basics ingredients for cooking at our arrival as a gift. The house is beautiful and very comfortable. We were there with 4 adults and 2 childs and had plenty of room. The house has everything you need. You can arrive to the center of Licata in approx. 10 minutes. 5 Minutes to the beach of Marianello. In Licata are also very good restaurants (we tried the Sombrero, L'Oste e il Sacrestano and the La Madia) and the pubs like Drogheria or Cantunera are also very good. Hosts, house and location are highly recommended. Melinda und Giuseppa sind die perfekte Gastgeber. Sogar Getränke (Wasser und Softdrinks) und alles was man als Basis zum kochen braucht haben sie uns geschenkt. Das Haus ist schön und sehr komfortabel. Wir waren mit 4 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder da und hatten genug Platz. Das Haus hat alles was man braucht. In 10 Minuten kommt man mit dem Auto zum Zentrum von Licata. In 5 Minuten ist man am Strand von Marianello. In Licata gibt es aber auch sehr gute Essgelegenheiten (wir haben den Sombrero, L'oste e il Sacrestano und La Madia probiert) und die Bars, La Drogheria und Cantunera gegenüber sind auch sehr gut. Gastgeber, Haus und Ortschaft sind sehr empfehlenswert. Melinda e Giuseppe sono dei padroni di casa perfetti. Al nostro arrivo ci hanno fatto trovare un bevande e tutto quello che serve di base per cucinare. La casa è bellissima e molto confortevole. In tutto eravamo 4 adulti e 2 bambini ed avevamo un sacco di spazio. La casa ha tutto il necessario e la villa ha superato le aspettative create dalle foto sul sito. In 10 minuti si arriva al centro di Licata. In 5 minuti alla spiaggia di Marianello. A Licata ci sono anche ottimi ristoranti (abbiamo provato il Sombrero, l'oste e il sacrestano e La Madia) i pub Drogheria e Cantunera sono anche molto buoni. Vi raccomando sia i padroni di casa, la villa ed il posto.

Prachtig huis, gastvrije ontvangst

Het huis van Giuseppe en Melinda is prachtig en ligt erg mooi, met uitzicht op zee. Het is ruim, mooi ingericht, goed verzorgd en heeft veel plekken om buiten te zitten. Vooral het terras met grote boom is schitterend. De slaapkamers zijn comfortabel en met goede airco, en dat hadden we wel nodig in midden in de zomer. De weg naar het strand is stijl, maar het strand en de zee zijn heerlijk. De klim omhoog is dan even pittig, maar thuis kan je lekker onder de tuinslang of onder de douche en weer verder genieten op het terras. Op de weg naar het strand zit een goed pizzeria op 5 minuten lopen. Het welkom is meer dan warm en we zijn erg goed geholpen toen onze auto kapot ging en we naar de garage moesten. Ze helpen met alles, en zijn altijd bereikbaar. Geweldig dus. Dit huis is vijf sterren waard! Tip; neem muggenspul mee want er zijn in de avond even wat steekmuggen actief.

Sehr schöne, ruhig Villa mit traumhaften Meerblick

Wir hatten eine tolle, erholsame Woche in der traumhaft angelegten Villa. Der Weg zum Meer ist sehr steil, in 10-15 Minuten aber machbar. In die Altstadt von Licata läuft man eine gute halbe Stunde.

Schöne Unterkunft in einem weniger schönen Ort

Wir waren Ende Mai für 11 Tage in dieser wunderschönen Unterkunft. Auf Anfrage wurde uns ein Kinderbett und ein Babystuhl besorgt, top! Die Villa liegt außerhalt des Ortes, so das man eigentlich zwingend auf einen Mietwagen angewiesen ist. Dieser kann auf dem Gelände geparkt werden. Man hat ein abschließbares Tor, so das das Auto sicher geparkt ist. Positiv: - gute Ausstattung - bequeme Betten - tolle Aussicht - sehr ruhig gelegen, eigentlich... - fantastische Terrassen - super Außenküche - riesiges Grundstück Was uns gestört hat, waren die Hunde aller Nachbarn. Die Kläffen die ganze Nacht durch, so das an erholsamen Schlaf kaum zu denken ist. Außerdem sind in allen Zimmern Bewegungsmelder installiert, die Nachts dauerhaft rot blinken, wenn auch nur die kleinste Mücke vorbeifliegt. Soll wohl Sicherheit vermitteln, wir fanden es allerdings eher unbehaglich. Zum Internet: Wir hatten am dritten Tag angeblich schon 20 GB verbraucht. Allerdings waren wir entweder am Strand ( ja, der Weg ist wirklich steil... ) oder auf der Terrasse, wo das Internet nicht funktioniert. Fanden wir sehr komisch. Uns wurde dann angeboten, weitere 5GB für 15€ zu kaufen, das lehnten wir ab. Die Kommunikation mit den sehr netten Besitzern kann ausschließlich auf Italienisch erfolgen. Mit Händen und Füßen aber kein Problem. :-) Der Strand ist wirklich schön, allerdings trollt auch hier überall Müll rum. Zu empfehlen ist die Lido Felix mit sehr netten Gastgebern. Alles in allem würden wir die Villa aber nicht mehr besuchen, das liegt aber eher an dem echt vermüllten und sehr dreckigen Ort Licata.

Fabulous house with amazing sea views.

The house was very impressive, set on a steep hill surrounded by olive trees, with views over the Mediterranean from all 3 terraces. It is a spacious well equipped house with 3 double bedrooms & 3 bathrooms & is continuing to be improved. The outside space is stunning , with a newly landscaped driveway . Each of the terraces looks out to sea with it’s ever changing shades of blue & allows you to watch the fishing boats & expensive pleasure craft going in & out of the harbour. Sitting under the Carob tree on the terrace to the side of the house is particularly beautiful at night thanks to the extensive lighting system. There is also a second well equipped kitchen on the terrace for barbecues & outside cooking - it wasn’t quite warm enough for this in early May this year. Licata is a hilly town & the house is on the outskirts so although it is possible to walk down to the beach & into town via the beach it’s very steep & you need stamina - we did so several times but a car is really essential. We were very warmly welcomed by Melinda & Pepe & they drove into town & the supermarket with us in convoy to show us the way which was extremely helpful and were available throughout our stay had we needed them. A great house for relaxing in the sunshine with all essential shopping facilities in Licata - we arrived at the weekend of the annual festival of their patron saint so the town was buzzing. It’s also very convenient for visiting Agrigento & the amazing Valley of the Temples which is definitely worth a visit.

Fantastisk hus og meget søde udlejere

Vi var 2 voksne afsted med 2 småbørn i 3 uger, april/maj. Vi fik bedsteforældre på besøg i 2 af de 3 uger. Huset havde en ideel størrelse til 6 personer. Vi sov i soveværelse ved siden af børnenes soveværelse. Bedsteforældrenes soveværelse og bad havde kun indgang udefra, hvilket gjorde det til et oplagt gæsteværelse, hvor man har mulighed for at trække sig tilbage. Vi anvendte primært den store terasse med udendørskøkkenet. Den ligger i forlængelse af spisekøkkenet. For os var denne del et kæmpe plus, da det meste af dagen handler om måltider, når man har småbørn og madglade voksne. Vi synes det var lidt begrænset med køkkenredskaber. Husets stil og udsigten over vandet og havnen giver et eksklusivt indtryk. Udlejer og husholderske var meget søde mennesker og var hele tiden klar til at hjælpe. Vi fik f.eks. gjort rent 2 gange undervejs, selvfølgelig mod betaling. Blandt de bedste oplevelser kan nævnes: Templernes Dal, Agrigento, middag på La Madia, friskfangede fisk og den gode motion man fik af at gå op fra stranden - 450 m med en hældning på 16% :) Vi kan varmt anbefale huset.
