About a dozen plus of us stay here on a regular basis. Good buffet breakfast, decent sized rooms on the main building and a reasonable bar. Restaurant food is okay too. A good base for groups but you can feel a bit intimidated as a fat lad as it's often full of fit as "f" England reps of various sports.
We were disappointed with the hotel It was a nightmare to find and when we did find it we were underwhelmed to be honest . Our first impression was it was no different to a Premier Inn but at £123 for a Saturday night it was £40 more. The bed wasn't that comfortable and the room had a very small tv, the shower however was lovely. We went to the restaurant to eat and was shocked at what was on the menu, it was so boring with no a lot of choice, I ordered Hake and got Haddock, there was a choice of 6 deserts, four of which were cheese, which is okay if you like cheese. The breakfast the next morning was totally different, lots of choice, well cooked, a pleasant surprise. What I will say is that the staff were very professional and very helpful, they were marvellous. The rooms were spotlessly clean. So a mixed bag of comments on the Burleigh Court Hotel
Overall, we had a great family weekend, although we found it inconvenient that there was on lift and our family room was on the first floor meaning that we had to use stairs with a pushchair etc. The bar ran out of Soda water and the restaurant ran out of vanilla ice cream. The health club facilities were good.Friendly staff and good parking. Would recommend to others.
This hotel was booked for a surprise long weekend, it was chosen for its location and spa facilities. When we arrived I thought it looked a little too modern and too university student ish, I felt rather apprehensive with what awaited us, whoever, once we walked to the reception area and we were greeted by a very friendly member of staff, I started to relax and my reservations melted away. The staff were welcoming and they gave us all the information we needed for our stay. We were also asked if we needed help with our bags as there is no lift to the second floor. We had a upper floor room (there are only two levels). The room had a large double bed which was very comfortable, the pillows were great but if you wanted a different type for any reason, you could call reception and get them exchanged. Also if you wanted a top sheet instead of, or aswell as a duvet this could also be arranged (We did this as it was rather warm). The room also had good wifi speed and connection, plenty of storage, an iron, ironing board, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, lovely biscuits, a couple of bottles of water, very nice toiletries and a desk fan which you need as the room did get warm, even with the window remaining open 24/7! The gym had more than enough modern equipment, the pool was large enough to swim laps and the sauna, steam room and spa pool all added to the relaxation factor. There were treatments on offer which would cover most people's requirements and were easy enough to book through the friendly gym reception staff. The breakfast area was nice and chilled with self service but also enough friendly staff to re-fill hot drinks and clear dirty used dishes. The food was amazing, so much choice both hot and cold and if that wasn't enough you could order other choices from the breakfast menu! We didn't use the bar but it looked nice and relaxed with TVs showing different channels, an outside seating area but within the hotel that can also be used for drinks or just to sit and relax. Overall this hotel was great for spending time exercising, swimming or relaxing with lovely food. Better still....doing all of them.
Yes there's a pool, gym & treatment rooms (pretty short opening hours), but this is a utilitarian conference venue first and a hotel second. Rooms are pretty basic. Ours was particularly dark even on sunny days. Breakfast finishes at 9am during the week, and many parts of the buffet were exhausted well before that. Many of the staff are young (university students?) and not attentive. Took 10-15 minutes to catch someone's eye to get tea on the first day. Bar and restaurant evening menus are the same, and it's definitely bar food. Burger super hot, accompanying chips tepid. Local beer excellent from the tap, if a bit "lively". Our visit wasn't helped by the cock up on our room booking so 14 ended up on sofa bed in our room, rather than in anteroom to one of the 4 'suites' as planned. Towel issuing also a bit random with first 2 between 3 and then when housekeeping cleared uses ones against their own advice, 1 between 3. Still. It's on campus & convenient, but don't get hopes up too much.
Burleigh Court is a great hotel for a business stay. The staff were extremely friendly, the wifi connection good, and the food was excellent. I attended a business event which was on site. One main issue prevents me from rating this hotel more highly. I stayed in July and the room was far too hot. The outside weather was 18 degrees, but inside the room it felt as though the outside temperature was 28! I didn't feel able to complain because there was a sign in the room which, ironically, acknowledged the heat in the room, blamed the summer months, and said to use the table fan! Opening the window did not help much, although at night it offered a slight breeze. However, as a single female traveller I did not want to sleep with my window open or on the (wobbly and insecure) catch. I would stay here again even though the price seemed a little high (around £90 for one night B&B).
The Burley Court Hotel is in the heart of Loughborough University. First impression on arrival was very good the girl on the reception desk was quick at checking us in and pointing us in the right direction. On arrival at our room we weren’t disappointed, clean bright and well appointed with tea/coffee making and biscuits. Good size bathroom with bath/shower, ironing board and iron and TV. The hotel has a gym, bar and restaurant. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and although the food was pretty good the service was a bit slow. The only fault I could find with The Burleigh Court was the beer. I had a pint of Guinness and it was dreadful, the head disappeared almost immediately something that true Guinness never does. When I spoke to the waiter he didn’t seem too interested. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. I can defiantly recommend this hotel and will stay there again should we be in that area.
Very friendly staff, excellent room. The male receptionist went above and beyond his duty by lending my husband his tie. So he could be correctly dressed for his nephews wedding. He had forgot or to bring one with him form home. It matched his suit and shirt. The receptionist saved the day !
Friendly staff, clean smart room, nice bedding. Long drive, arrive at room it appears lovely. Evening meal and retire to bed, busy day next day and another long road journey. Throw duvet on floor, jump on to sleep, hard and very uncomfortable, ok not quite but I may as well of, as this is what my bed felt like. Pillows two, one thin and dense, the other soft. Hence I'm awake at 0110. It's a wet and windy night but hot and humid, window has two blinds one that fits into the window cavity the other covers the whole window frame like curtains. I am so hot I leave the window open but the inner blind rattles and bangs in the wind, even when I pull it all the way up. The blinds look lovely, really set the decor, but the irrigation of the clattering blind kind of make it a useless addition, if the idea is to darken a room to aid sleep. It keeps you awake. Lovely little TV to watch, except a large portion of TV channels are un-viewable due to poor signal. Worst bed I have ever slept in !!!
We stayed for 3 nights at the end of July 2017. +: Nice quiet location (University was closed). Clean room and all other facilities of the hotel. Daily towels change and cleaning. Clean Spa (included in price), good size pool. Good quality complementary toiletry ("Bee Kind"). Polite helpful staff. Complementary coffee, tea and water in the lobby as well as in the room. Good breakfast. -: Mattress in our room was very hard. However, a mattress topper was provided on our request. The staff said that the hotel was going to change the mattresses in September 2017. Some fresh vegetables or salad would be desirable to add to the breakfast choice.
