the hotel is right on the campus, I found it to be nice friendly hotel with everyone I came in contact with saying hello/good morning, good breakfast with a wide selection. rooms are simple but more than adequate.
The venue was easy to get to from the station. A ten pound taxi ride. Staff at reception were very welcoming and helpful. Arrival at 9:30pm. Good quality and range of hot breakfast in the morning too. Only suggestion for improvement, I would suggest the restaurant remains open a little longer than 9:30 pm, or there is an option to order a meal for room service. Visitors won't be expecting this if arriving late. Could even offer the option of having good delivered by an external company. One other thing to bear in mind when staying is taxis can take long to arrive for pick up, so booking in advance is always good. However this isn't quite under the venues control. Overall, I would definitely recommend a stay here.
This hotel offers a good standard of accommodation, the room was spacious, very well kept and spotlessly clean, the design and colour scheme is quite neutral and pleasant. Although I had booked on the hotel website, my reservation had not been entered into the booking - which could have been a nasty surprise had the hotel been fully booked. As an apology we received complimentary breakfast, and although much appreciated, I personally would say it is not worth the £12 which are normally charged per person. There is undeniably a huge selection, but it seemed a little lacklustre; the pastries were stale, the fresh fruit looked a bit sad, and it took a while to get a coffee as the waiting staff weren't very attentive. All in all, a very pleasant hotel in terms of accomodation, but not great value for money; with a little effort, it could be great.
The hotel is on the University campus and very easy to get to from the M1. Great for conferences and events. Good standard of accommodation, the room was well equipped and clean. The hotel has gym and fitness facilities.
Don’t get me wrong- the hotel is more than adequate. That said, it wouldn’t take much for the hotel to be so much more. I have been coming to the hotel once a month for a year and a half. The food menu seems to have been the same and the bar menu in particular is pretty poor. £30 for a fillet stake in the restaurant is quite pricy and the food isn’t worthy of the price. The gym doesn’t open until 7am whereby a little earlier would be better. That said, the hotel is always clean and the staff are polite. Breakfast is good. Ok, but could be a lot better is how I would summarise this hotel.
The hotel is very functional and well run with very friendly staff. The rooms are not the biggest but are big enough for a couple. One of my pet subjects in hotel rooms is socket availability. There are plenty particularly at desk height which makes it ideal for working. I have only eaten breakfast there which is a pretty high quality buffet. There are plenty of leisure facilities none of which I have tried. One watch out is that if you are not too mobile some of the rooms are a bit of a hike. In general it is a really good and convenient set up for Loughborough but particularly if you are visiting the university.
Well appointed spacious room, with large double bed. Very good facilities and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent with a number of different buffet stations including fruit and cereal, bread and pastries, and full English breakfast. Highly recommended.
Stayed here in July 2017 and was very happy - clean, peaceful and modern hotel. Used the gym which was well equipped. Ate at the pub which was nice but very expensive. I had a great deal on a 1 night stay due to the students being away (I presume?).
Hotel looked good on first impression as i walked in. Receptionist helpful. However, room was only average (and I paid for a decent room). No better than a Premier Inn and I paid extra for a decent room. Food in restaurant was good although service wasn't great. Wouldn't choose to stay here again. Uninspiring experience.
Last night’s dinner was distinctly average. Tonight was fine until desert. I asked for 2 biscuits and 1 piece of cheddar instead of the desert on offer but was told thus would be £2.50 extra! Inflexible and outrageous!
