We booked this hotel.good location but not good place to stay. No customer service.swimming pool is very unclean.rooms & bathtoom also very unclean.worst place ever.dont book this.ripped off.think twice before book this hotel.
Good hotel..good location....very near from beach.night beach party.excelent budget friendly choice to chill...very small swiming pool.family friendly hotel.hot water supply.free water and toiletries.
Location is the best thing about this hotel. It's near everything you need (money changer, good restaurants, mini marts, street vendors, massage) and especially right next to the beach. The receptionists are helpful and pleasant with nice smiles. The room was spacious and the beds were nice. The building though is obviously old and worn down and so are the facilities (toilet, door, cabinet). The lobby doesn't smell nice. They don't do housekeeping unless you ask for it at reception. But overall, it's still value for your money. It's nice to watch the sunset by the pool and just people watch. I can't compare to other hotels because it was my first time in Langkawi but I had a good time.
This hotel is a little tired and boring and lacks character or any special features, but it is in the best location along Cenang beach and the rooms are more than adequate (great wifi, bathrooms and toiletries, drinking water and fridge all included). Windows need cleaning though!! The small pool area is adequate (though for some bizarre reason they remove sunbeds/tables really early and then stop pool use after sunset). The range of eating options around the hotel is excellent.... search out the local eateries for proper home cooked food at REALLY low prices. Langkawi's main beaches of Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah are both disappointing. Tengah beach is for the next few years a huge building site as they ruin what was once a lovely quieter option to make way for loads of huge new hotels to cater for the massive input of Chinese tourists. Cenang beach is Ok'ish but plagued by non control of jet skis/bikes by the shore (no designated areas!!) so very dangerous for swimmers, and non regulated use of vehicles on the beach, and many big Chinese groups exercising and shouting. A mad noisy beach. If you want relaxation on an unspoilt tropical beach go to Tanjung Rhu on the north side of the island. It's gorgeous!
We wanted somewhere to just relax near the sea for a few days and at that level this place met that need The room was spacious, plenty of spreading out space and a sofa. But we weren't inclined to open the curtains as that would have allowed people at the tables and chairs outside to look in on us. The pool is adequate, and clean, but the surrounding tiles get slippery very easily There are free beds and umbrellas on the beach and poolside too. But BEWARE. We spent around 6 hours on our first day ensuring we were always in the shade of the umbrella, but we still got burnt. The spf factor of the material they are made from must be very poor. But the main problem is that the place is so dowdy and depressing. Painted dull grey outside, pale off-brown with dark furnishings inside. Repainting would cost lots, probably. Fitting decent bright lights throughout would be cheap and transformative
The hotel positings itselfs as 3*** but looking like a prison inside.. Very old furniture, only 12 rooms have balconies, other rooms has no ventilation, windows aren't open, very dark ... Holes like in school-big and empty.. I dont know, why my feelings was like that, but one night only I could stay in this hotel.. We moved..
This resort is accessible from the Pantai Cenang beach, the largest and the commercial beach of langkawi. Swimming pool is available. Wifi and a in house restaurant is available. The hotel is surrounded by flea market, travel agent offices for booking island tours, eateries, pubs, juice corners etc. Since it is a beach front property the beach is accessible from the hotel at all times, lounge chairs are laid out too. Cleanliness is very well taken care of. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, every room has a view. We got a very good deal at a reasonable price. The front desk is very helpful. Taxis can be hailed from right in front of the hotel.
Langkawi is a beautiful island with some fantastic attractions to visit. We stayed for three nights, unfortunately in this hotel which is situated on the beach on which parties were held every evening starting around 10pm and only finishing between 4am and 6am on each occasion the noise was horrendous. Even after the parties had finished the noise continued by the so called 'guests' returning to their rooms shouting, slamming doors and running up and down corridors. This is certainly NOT a hotel that appears to welcome western visitors! No alcohol is served in the hotel or around the outside pool area. Guests ignoring the sign to NOT enter the hotel having just left the pool turn the tiled flooring throughout the lobby area and the subsequent lift area into a serious injury waiting to happen. When the staff were asked if this rule could be enforced or if the floor could be dried, it was met with a shrug of the shoulders and what appeared to be a sarcastic grin. I could go on for ever about the bad points of this hotel but I wont. It's time to mention the good ones, hmmmm! let me think, oh yes, you wont see any of our party again!
Ideal location, if you are staying in Pantai Cenang; right on the beach and opposite Cenang Mall. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful and check-in and check-out were smooth. The family room we had was big enough for 4 of us. The room size at Best Star Resort is the biggest when compared with the same category hotels in the vicinity. There's no restaurant / breakfast at the property but there are eateries aplenty in the surroundings. Wireless Internet connection was good enough for normal use. Considering its 2-star status, Best Star Resort excels in most areas. Overall, value for money.
If you don't expect too much you won't be disappointed. We booked the seaview balcony room and it was ok with a great view. A good size, very clean with safe and mini bar and bed comfortable. But like the rest of the hotel it is not stylish or modern and the whole hotel needs a good makeover. The location is the winner here not the hotel features, although the pool is ok it's small and really suitable only for kids. Right on the beach and close to everything. Be aware that for some very bizarre reason local authorities have let shisha trucks operate on the beach, which is ok but they also play very loud music, sorry, I mean Doof Doof noise until 4am in the morning!!! The hotels in the area don't seem to care and neither do the police. It spoiled our stay and we won't be back.
