Property is in a good location, close to Squaw Peak and has easy access to the Shirley Creek trail head. This is where the benefits end. There were far more negatives than positives.
Air circulation in the condo was very poor. Only 2 VERY loud fans were provided for help with this. It was stuffy, even when the windows were open. The "front" door opens into a building that is closed, so little airflow can occur. When you open the windows, you are subjected to the very loud guests from other locations within this complex and other complexes in very close proximity.
The interior looks like it has been "decorated" by picking up the cheapest items at garage sales in the 80's. Nothing matches, everything is old and the bed has crayon/marker scribbles all over it. There was also a dirty mask left by the bed.
Rental income seems to be the priority here, not the guests' comfort or enjoyment. It appears that a very minimal renovation has occurred, at some point. That said, the stove is good enough, the fridge is very cold and the oven is hot, to the point of being hotter than the temperature given...so watch your food closely. Shower has good pressure.
The condo lacked in amenities I have found standard in every other VRBO we have rented: no dish towels, floor rugs (especially in bath where it is very slick and dangerous to exit the shower), hair dryer and bathroom soap.
There were ice trays in the freezer, but no ice. I made sure to fill them for the next guests before we left, since the cleaning staff apparently doesn't do this.
There is a small patio area with a tiny table and 2 chairs. It was nice to be able to sit outside, since inside was so uncomfortable. But, this area faces the parking lot, so there are cars literally parked right next to the patio.
This is a great place for a bunch of 20-somethings who are looking to have a ski weekend or a vacation on the lake and who don't care about amenities. Looks like this place could sleep a bunch of college kids who don't mind pull-outs and sleeping bags. Probably a great party place for skiers in the winter. There were a lot of other young parties making lots of noise and carrying on at 2 am on each of the weekend nights, regardless of the 10 pm "noise curfew."
Not a great place for families with kids who need to sleep or a couple looking to relax. Definitely a place for the less discerning younger generation on a budget.
