What an amazing place to stay. Hotel is very clean. Amenities are good. Owners were very helpful ( even taught us some French). Recommended places to visit. Continental breakfast set us for the day. Ate in the restaurant 3 nights , food was FABULOUS ! All staff were very helpful and pleasant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND AT STAY AT HOTEL FLORIMONT.
We had a super meal. Great quality food and attentive service. The cheese board was amazing. We used our Wonderbox voucher for the Prestigious menu. We also stayed the night. The room was comfortable and quiet. The TV had the full range of English channels - a rarity in France. Breakfast was a good buffet selection. We were even given an English newspaper summary - but we could have had it from any country. Free Wifi throughout. A lovely find.
Situated some 15km south east of Lake Annecy we chose this because of its quiet location close to the mountains which we planned to explore. Large quiet room at the back of the hotel getting sunrise on the mountain and a view over the garden. Comfortable bed and a good shower. Reception was friendly and helpful with suggestions of where to buy a new camera (Albertville) as our old had jammed. Breakfast was varied and good quality with everything totally fresh and attentive service. We are reviewing the excellent restaurant - La chalet d Eglantine - separately. We had put in a small consignment of laundry for the 24 hour service but this did not appear on the bill and when we queried this the management waived the charge. Good position and views, comfortable rooms, good food and friendly management. Whats not to like?
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Florimont very much. My room was light and spacious with a comfortable bed, a lovely view of the mountains, and French doors leading to a small balcony facing the mountains. I was made to feel very welcome on arrival, and each time I came down for a meal or to go for a walk. Nothing was too much trouble for our hostess. The breakfasts in the hotel’s restaurant, were fresh and tasty, with a selection of cereals, breads, conserves, fruits and excellent local cheeses from the Haute-Savoie alpine region. The dinner menu was extensive and the meal I chose was exceptional. (And again, all those beautiful local cheeses were presented!) The locals obviously know this, for the restaurant was very well supported for a Monday evening.
Located at the base of the Alps and the view from the room's balcony was a pleasure to wake up to. The warm and friendly welcome was great and we were advised of all the must do sights in the region.....the receptionist even went out of her way to provide us extra information on a wine route around the local vineyards. Room was clean, equipped and comfortable....the only thing missing was air conditioning, although we were provided with a fan. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was served until 10.30 am. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff here. Thank you for a pleasurable stay. An added bonus was the food provided by the accompanying restaurant....it was amazing and reasonably priced......onion ice cream really played tricks with your senses!
We spent a night at the hotel on the way to The Alps. It is in a very convenient location and the hotel is a good standard. The rooms are a little dark, but are comfortable. The breakfast menu was extensive and supper very nice. The staff could not have been more helpful and were very welcoming.
We arrived on a Sunday afternoon for a 4 night stay and had been asked to arrive by 3pm as the reception closed after that. We checked in exactly on time: Madame was very helpful and anxious to make sure we had everything we needed before all the staff left. Our room (301) looked out onto the mountains with a little balcony that caught the afternoon sun. The room wasn't large but had a desk, a comfy chair and a fridge . We had tea/coffee making facilities and Madame had brought us up a jug of fresh milk. There was a separate toilet, a small bathroom and adequate wardrobe/storage space. The restaurant was closed on the Sunday evening so we went into Faverges to eat. The hotel seemed deserted (everyone had the evening off) but we could open the main door with our room key and it was blissfully quiet. Breakfast was excellent: a choice of about 4 home made conserves, lovely bread and pastries, a selection of charcuterie and boil your own eggs. Another nice touch at breakfast is a single sheet printed news bulletin each day, tailored to your home country. Madame would leave us one for UK and one for France (in French). We only ate in the hotel restaurant once: the food was too fancy for our taste, especially for my husband who prefers plain food. However it was obvious that the restaurant is well regarded locally as we noticed parties of be-suited business men coming in for lunch and dinner. The service here was friendly and helpful, especially Madame who fussed over us to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent as a base to explore the area by car, by bike or on foot.
Allready entering the hotel we looked at each other and said: This is not at all how it looks like on the website, and allready at that point, we should have left. We had read the reviews on TripAdvisor before we booked the room, and we really don't understand why people like it so much. It was soooo ugly. The girl in the reception was very nice and helped us find out what to see and do in the area. The man in the reception was more oppupied with his computer than to serve the customers. He didn't even turn around to look at you - he just yelled at the girl (perhaps his daughter) who came running down from the 1st floor to help. The room was awful - so many colours that you felt you were stuck in the 80's. It all seemed worn out. The hallways were very dark - and colourful! We left after one night - breakfast was not included, so we didn't eat - we just left in a hurry. We are giving 1 star because the room was clean and 1 star for the nice and helpful girl in the reception.
Warm welcome - superb personal service. Dedicated, polite staff throughout hotel. Tip- top cuisine and extensive breakfast menu. Great room - we were given a cosy double room with balcony overlooking mountains. Location was ideal for us - Greenway was just over the road for easy cycling to and around Lake Annecy, so near enough but far enough away from busy areas. Cyclable south to Albertville.
Had booked this hotel as a one night stop on our way to Switzerland, we must find an excuse to stay longer next time! Agree with all the previous two comments, the family are so welcoming, the rooms are clean and tidy, although not large, and the restaurant well it is definitely worth returning for that alone.
