This was our 5th time renting a villa in Casa de Campo. The bedrooms and bathrooms were large and spacious. The family room and dining room areas were comfortable and perfect for our group of 10. And the pool and hot tub (and really whole back yard) were great and we were able to easily control the water temp in both. But the devils in the detail with this villa. The kitchen had a bit of an ick factor and several of the appliances need replacing. The butler and cook were below average, and we ended up eating out for most of our meals towards the end of our week. And while the pool was great, the villa should really have had more than 4 lounge chairs, especially considering the house has 7 bedrooms. We inquired about more lounge chairs before booking - the owner said no problem, and even though we continued to check-in with him leading up to our stay, he didn’t provide more lounge chairs in the end. The bean bag chairs were actually better than expected, but weren’t enough. Some of the bedroom mattresses were also old and uncomfortable. We ended up having a fun week with the family, but our villa experience just wasn’t a highlight of our trip like other villa’s had been in the past.
