"The porch is lovely and has wonderful views. We really enjoyed sitting outside and watching the birds. The apartment is right next to an entrance to the rainforest, and there is a road near the apartment that we walked up that had amazing views and a guava tree. The inside of the apartment is very gray and dreary, almost no light, and the furniture, towels, and linens are cheap but serviceable. No bedside lamps, and nowhere near the bed to plug your phone in. There was a fake Christmas tree and a couple fake poinsettias up, even though it was mid-March/Lent when we were there - it seemed like they aren't paying that much attention. The host was easy to communicate with and brought us some additional kitchen stuff when we told her that there was no can opener, kitchen towels, colander, etc. The showers were really nice, and we were able to get the hot tub to heat up, but it took about 14 hours to go from 83 F to 100 F, so definitely make increasing its temperature the first thing you do."

"Fabulous everything! The view, the ever accommodating and kind-hearted host, and the thoughtful amenities were the best. Sugar for coffee, salt and pepper on the table, pits and pans of all sorts, and even a big drawer of storage containers for leftovers. The layout was great, with several pleasant places for congregating, a nicely arranged kitchen, and a half bath by the pool. We were a group of 16 adults, all family members, and we did breakfast and at least one other meal at the house. All of us loved it. "

"The house was large and comfortable for our group of 7. More attention to simple details would have made our stay much better, like: - there is a pool table but no cue ball, the felt on the table is ripped and 5 or 6 cue sticks but only 1 cue stick has any felt on the tip.- When we first entered the house I found a bucket with water and a mop sitting in the middle of the foyer.- The house was clean in the highly visible spots but not in corners behind furniture or around the sides of the stove.- There was no renters guide or list of instructions and recommendations for local dining that you usually find in a high end vacation rental.- The bed in the master bedroom was loud enough to wake my wife or I whenever we shifted sleeping position.- The dresser drawer in the master bedroom came apart the first time we tried to use it. Someone had obviously tried to repair it in the past by hammer in a couple of metal staples to hold it together. Of course the “repair” did not last."
