Cabaña Los Tucanes - Paraíso Para Parejas!

Increíble paraíso en medio de la selva tropical, más de 64000 pies cuadrados para explorar, disfrutar y relajarse. Encontrarás la paz que estás buscando con un pequeño riachuelo al lado de donde nadarás en las aguas cristalinas, muchas flores, pájaros, ranas y nuestra cómoda cabaña de hasta 4 personas. Se recomienda principalmente para parejas de todas las edades o familias que quieran estar fuera de la ciudad, pero lo suficientemente cerca para explorar todas las atracciones del volcán Arenal.
La cabaña está totalmente equipada con ropa de cama, toallas, área de cocina, baño privado con agua caliente, caja de seguridad, una cama king size y dos camas individuales en el segundo piso especial para niños pequeños. La propiedad es solo para ti, no hay nadie más, así que tendrás privacidad en esta propiedad aislada y mágica, toda la casa tiene pantallas para que no tengas que preocuparte por los bichos, salir y en cualquier lugar es mejor que te lleven chinches.

The cabin was super cute! It was a little confusing to get there (as other reviews said) but the address the hosts sent does take you right to the property! The cabin is in the woods so we did see some bugs and stuff inside but it wasn’t anything crazy. The listing says the porch is screened which is not the case, and the hot tub would never heat up. Also, when we got back from one of our hikes there was a vehicle at the house we didn’t recognize. We saw two people walk out from the woods behind the cabin and the guy said he was one of the owners and just came by to show his friend around the property. For a listing that said private I would at least expect a heads up in this situation. When I messaged the other host to ask about it I never got a response. Overall it was a good stay!

The location was great - close to town yet still secluded. We loved the private deck and hot tub! The yard was amazing with the little creek and pond, we saw so much wildlife just at the property! The room was perfect for us as a couple on our honeymoon. We loved it and would definitely stay again.

Una persona llegó diciendo que la casa que rentamos era de él, que la persona que nos rentó no era el dueño y se estaba aprovechando de que estaba enfermo. No fue la experiencia mas bonita, de hecho pasamos estresados pensando que nos iban a pedir que saliéramos antes de tiempo. Es una lástima, pues la propiedad es muy linda. Pero no fue un fin de semana bonito, todo lo contrario.

Bird watchers haven

Upon arrival, we initially received incorrect directions, but the property management promptly dispatched someone to our location. They arrived within 5-10 minutes, and we were able to follow them directly to the home.The property is situated approximately 10 minutes from La Fortuna, down a well-maintained paved rural road. The beautifully landscaped yard, complete with charming paths, backs directly onto a river, with the jungle just beyond. Each afternoon, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife from the deck and yard. Both evenings, we were captivated by Macaws, Toucans, Parrots, Parakeets, and other exotic birds, using our binoculars to observe them in the treetops. While we heard howler monkeys, we didn't spot them – the sounds of the jungle were a delightful soundtrack to our stay.The deck itself was incredibly spacious. Although the exterior lighting was somewhat limited, it didn't detract from our experience. On our first night, we encountered an issue with the air conditioning above the bed; however, we discovered the next morning that a breaker had simply tripped, and it worked perfectly after that. Plenty of towels were provided, though guests might consider bringing their own shampoo as only body wash is supplied.We initially thought the jetted pool wasn't heating, but realized we needed to run the jets. It actually heated up quite a lot, becoming wonderfully warm. Sitting in it and listening to the jungle sounds was a truly relaxing experience.

Lovely

We very much enjoyed our stay. The outdoor space is amazing; very private and beautiful grounds. The driveway is hard to find and the name on the gate is not the same as the home listing name. My teens loved the loft and the hot tub. Grill was a great amenity. Location was great for all the activities.

Great stay!

Cabin was beautiful and bigger than expected. The property is breathtaking. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed walks in the yard. The patio/deck is large and perfect for morning coffee. We found the beds comfortable, and the kitchen well appointed. I didn’t have any issues with the electric stove (as clear directions were sent). We didn’t feel cramped at all one adult (another still wouldn’t feel cramped), and two teen boys.

A Hidden Gem Near La Fortuna

We loved our stay at Cabana Los Tucanes! The yard is absolutely beautiful—lush with tropical plants and frequently visited by stunning birds, including yellow-throated and keel-billed toucans. We spent peaceful mornings and evenings on the patio soaking in the natural surroundings. Just a 10-minute drive from La Fortuna, it's the perfect spot: close enough for easy access, but far enough to feel like a private retreat. A true hidden gem!

Family stay in La Fortuna

Conveniently located. Arriving at this location during the daylight is advised. Lighting inside is awful. I asked if we could get another lamp, but never got one, nor a follow up response. Kitchen is stocked, but pans for cooking need replacing and the stovetop is glitchy. AC worked great after being turned on for a bit. A bit dirty on the storage shelves by the safe. Outside area is great! Sleeping area upstairs is hard to access. NOT for small children or older people. King bed is a plus, but mattress needs a new mattress and the fitted sheet came loose every night. Hotel next door serves breakfast, which is a nice plus. I highly recommend having a car if at this location.

Beautiful stay

Very peaceful, private property with beautiful landscaping. Enjoyed the back porch with the grill, jacuzzi, and outdoor seating to eat and relax. Nice path around house to look at flowers and creek.

Nature Preserve

Staying here is kind of like having your own nature preserve. Short trails, lots of birds (including the eponymous toucans)…Hosts were great, helped with booking adventures and moved us into another unit when there was a power outage. Place is small, our family of four was a bit cramped, but there’s lots of nice outdoor space. Would stay again…

Very relaxing & peaceful

The house was exactly as advertised. It had a few maintenance issues that the owner is taking care of. Initially, we had a couple of major problems but the manager & the owner came out and immediately called workers out and corrected the problems. The covered porch was wonderful. Sitting out at night listening to the birds and other animals was great!The property manager was extremely helpful. My cell phone died close to the house but it's not easy to find. A store owner called the manager and he came to our aid and we followed him to the house.My wife left her Kindle at the house when we moved to another town. The manager facilitated it's return through our car rental company. Communication with the manager was fantastic. Thank you!

Understated beauty

While the pictures are accurate, they do not do justice to the beauty of the property and coziness of the cabin. The view of the grounds, from the bed, waking up in the morning was just awesome. You have the sounds of the rainforest all of the time. Our girls loved the loft, and it really made a seemingly small space not feel crowded at all for a family of 4. Easy 10 minute drive into La Fortuna. I'll be day dreaming of our morning coffees on the patio for years to come. If you're on the fence, just book it, you won't be sorry.

Mostly Private and Serene

Beautiful grounds with lots of room, plants, trees, bamboo, a duck pond, a stream. Perfect area in general. Arenal is visible from the street. There were lots of different birds and animals passing through occasionally. The cabin itself has A/C and was super cozy, I slept super well. The only complaint is that there were too many cameras all around the outside of the house, bit of an overkill, wasn't as comfortable with that, would have felt more private with just one or two facing the entryway.

Beautiful home & property, located just 10 min drive from town

We loved our stay here! 10/10 would recommend if you're looking for a non-hotel option to call home at the end of a day of adventures. It's just the right amount of secluded and off the beaten path, while still feeling safe and incredibly homey. It has everything you need inside, we loved the screened in porch to relax on at the end of the night too. It gets quite toasty inside while you're gone without the AC on but luckily there are two ACs to really pump out the cold air and cool things off. There were only two of us so we did not need the additional beds, but just note the other beds are upstairs in a loft that requires climbing up a wall attached (and very hardy) ladder to get to. Probably not great (safe) for young kids but perfectly suitable for teens+. Just something to keep in mind. We hope to stay here again in the future, should we come back to La Fortuna. Thank you for sharing your home and for wonderful time!

Lovely property

Love the property. All kinds of birds. There was a running creek and a pond which allowed us to be serenaded by frogs at night. Everything was well kept up. Neighborhood felt safe at night. Found a little café in La Fortuna that specialized in chocolate, Absolutely delicious there.
