Staff was wonderful, great room and breakfast. Location is awesome, right next to Nijo station trains and subway. Discovered the buses were great also. Note you can use your Suica for all the public transport.

The room I was given this time was not as nice as last time. I chose a moderate double which always faces toward the back of the hotel. It doesn’t have a view but it’s quiet. Unfortunately, the shower room in my room, and the carpet had an awful smell. I asked for a different room, but was told they did not have another room available of the same type. I found this hard to believe in the off season. I also thought they could have given me a higher floor room this time (above 4), considering this was the third time I booked a room here in two months. But no luck. The room they did move me to was a twin room facing the street. While the smell (and air circulation) was a little better, the noise was terrible at night. I had stayed in this room type my first time here, but it was at the other end of the building. This time the muscle cars were revving their engines right at the intersection where the room is. You don’t expect that in Kyoto but it woke me up many times. I give this hotel 3 stars and kept returning only because of its convenient location. The room you get really makes it hit or miss, and it should be more consistent with this level of hotel chain.

super happy with our stay here, the rooms and facilities were clean and staff were friendly and accomodating. everything was within walking distance and the rooms were just the perfect size for two. if you are wanting to be near a train station this accomodation is perfect as it is directly across the road which made it stress free when leaving to sightsee.

This was a phenomenal hotel! The location is close to the subway, but the soundproofing is excellent. There are two major supermarkets one block away, convenience stores across the street, huge Starbucks, food court with excellent meals (Bivi). Within the hotel, you have every convenience you could want, even a shared microwave and public bath on the first floor. The elevators are fast, the rooms are exceptionally clean (I mean luxury hotel standards.) There’s a huge cafe next to the lobby. What’s also really nice is that you get some nice luxury touches in your room without the luxury price tag. The spa bathtub is absolutely worth it!! It’s an amazing value! If it were not for wanting my own kitchenette, I would keep staying here for two months.

The location is great — not right in the city centre, which made the area quiet, yet still very convenient to get anywhere. The amenities were wonderful, and the staff accommodated every request with great care. The room was spacious compared to similarly priced hotels.

I give this rating mostly because the beds were incredibly uncomfortable for us, very hard and the only “solution” was to put a blanket on top of the mattress which did not help. While the room and bathroom were clean, there were so many marks on all the walls. Breakfast was good for the price. Most staff were very welcoming.
