The Staff at the Almont Hotel are so courteous and helpful. The property is clean, fairly sized and family friendly. However the rooms did have a musty scent upon entry. Other than that we enjoyed our stay at the Almont!
Booked this hotel same day and it was a great deal at the price I got it for. I paid roughly the same price for a pod room, so to get a full room for the same price was excellent. Beautiful and modern interior and better looking than other rooms I saw. Late check in is okay as well!
I travelled around Japan with my mom and cousin for 2 weeks in June. We had a triple room here. It was larger than the normal Japanese hotel rooms and extremely clean. At the end of our trip, everyone agreed that this was the best hotel, and we were in both Kyoto and Tokyo. Kyoto station was even easy enough for my mom (over 70 yrs old) to walk to. Easy to catch trains to see the different attractions. There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from there. Seek out the yakitori restaurant a few blocks west of the hotel. Wish I could remember the name. It was small but food and service were great despite a $3 per person "sitting fee". My cousin lives in Tokyo area and said the sitting fee is common in the big city restaurants. My mom, being Japanese herself, thought the service was excellent. And that's saying something because she has really high standards. I hope to return to Kyoto some day and would have no hesitation staying here again.
Great hotel with nice onsen and huge breakfast. Short walk to Kyoto Station.
Very clean, great location, you can take an amazing bath in the public bath. The staff is wonderful, and the breakfast is amazing.
The stay was a last minute decision to extend our trip in Kyoto. It came as a recommendation by a trusted traveler friend. The hotel was clean, close to the train station, and the traditional Japanese breakfast was great. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay.
Great hotel, 5 minute walk to the huge Kyoto Station which will take you anywhere. Relaxing and clean public bath.
