Pros - Pretty decent breakfast spread, good sized pool, beach access, friendly staff Cons- Almost always full on weekends translating to more people, noise levels etc. Rooms while a good size appear very used and beaten. Bedsheets not so clean. In room Footwear provided appears to be used. Found it a bit difficult to unwind with so many people around and the flurry of activity going on esp near the pool area.
Celebrated my recent buddies birthdays at their Restaurant. There were 20 of us and decided to give it a try and also, mainly due to the discount (% is giving according to the age of person celebrating their birthday in November). I gave 2-star mainly due to 1) Good waiters service provided, 2) 3-piece band that keep us entertained and 3) Keropok that served at the buffet. The rest is forgettable and not worth mentioning especially the food at the buffet. The price is RM 92 nett per adult before discount.
The room was run down, there is an infestation of ants, and the hairdryer was not working. Called Housekeeping but they never reverted back on a replacement. The iron was chipped at the corner, which resulted in me tearing my clothes as I was unaware of the sharp edges. Fully equipped gym and children's facilities, and beautiful beaches.
We used to come here before. We decided to come back on the way to Cherating. ok The room is satisfactory but no more complimentary coffee/tea and no more breakfast. Fridge is available. No many activities for kids - ATV etc. Since it was red flag to swim at sea, kids only had swimming pool to enjoy.
The Swiss Garden Resort is located north of Kuantan town and south of the Gebeng industrial area. Its location is good for those who are doing business in the Gebeng area. This resort is located in a rural setting ala “kampung” malay village style. The staff at the check in counter were warm and friendly. Room assigned was at the ground floor and fairly large. Likes - spacious room with all basic amenities - powerful and efficient air cond - friendly and helpful staff - good rates (RM 290 per night including breakfast) - good location with an excellent beach - plenty of car park slots Dislikes - rooms are not carpetted - weird and bad positioning of the toilet WC (refer to the attached photo) - bad access to the swimming pool area from the coffee house
We chose to stay here for it's proximity to our friends adjacent bar. It's a nice hotel, rather crowded however it was school holidays n Deepavalli, so that was expected. As it was busy we didn't wait for our bags to be taken to our rooms and took it up ourselves. We did receive a call later and the person sounded regretful that the staff wasn't able to help with our luggage. We told him it was okay. The rooms air conditioning appeared to be freezing, despite adjusting the temperature.. it must be faulty. We slept without any ac. The toilet was well equipped, however there seemed to be a smell of stale urine emanating from the WC.. and lastly, the jug kettle had a leak and water leaked out which fortunately didn't reach our cell phone which was charging nearby on the TV table lol. Bed was comfortable at least. The balcony had green mold growing where the floor meets the glass door, which was unsightly, but didn't bother us sitting out there and enjoying the breeze. Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the spa which I hear is good. All in all it was an OK stay
I would like to give a very good review to “Xin Choong” who helped us a lot during my stay at the hotel. He managed to get is a good and quick check in process. I will recommend everybody who plan to stay here to go and look for Mr Xin Choong. He is a vey rare Chinese Indian mixed malaysian. Very polite and helpful
We arrived close to 8pm and was greeted by a cheerful host. Unfortunately, I forgot his name- but he made our day. There was also a pianist who played great tunes - we enjoyed that too. The hotel is not new, so don't expect urban, chic furnishing. It's a classic old beach resort with a decent beach. The room is spacious, pool is big, and they sell items you need to build sandcastle for RM15! I think that is not bad (at least for me who sometimes don't remember to bring the beach essentials!). Our room has a balcony which is great for drying swimsuits and towels (yes- this is important for me). There's a big area/room that has 3 smaller rooms -games-room for teens -smaller play area for toddlers -gym These rooms were not so occupied because most of the guests were at the pool/beach. These facilities are there to be used but quite dated ie definitely NOT like your typical hotel's kids' club with guides/nannies. We didn't take buffet breakfast because there were plenty of locals selling authentic east coast food nearby. Overall, we were happy with our short stay!
Swiss Garden is a big hotel with a nice view on the sea. It have a lot of facilities, dining places and activities. Parking slots are enough. Swimming pool is good for families. The sea side is clean.
It's been long time not staying at this hotel and decided to spent my holiday here. Suprising me the hotel still the same and no refurbish at all. Short of staff upon check-in as only 2 staff handle the queue and waited for an hour even though is only a week day. Imagine how about if school holiday? The room bath tub handle, bidet holder is spoilt and the bidet is leaking. Air cond is not cold as per expected and the bed comforter is worn off (so rough), not comfortable at all (should change as the hotel is so pricey). Breakfast is good but then the staff taking the food together with the guest which is not a last call (before 10.30 am) for the breakfast. I need to queue behind of her. I wanted an half boil egg, and she serve me 80% boil egg...
