I recently stayed here and was satisfied with the staff service, the room, food and hotel in general. I think the hotel has a perfect location for a gateway with easy access to shopping malls and bukit bintang area. Food selections were plenty and my husband was even surprised to the various lists of selections we saw in the in room dining ranging from chinese to middle east. Room cleanliness is up to our expectations of a luxurious hotel. Recommended for people who wants to stay in a value for money hotel
This 5 star hotel is located in a prime shopping area in the heart of the city. Although the hotel is under renovation, the floors that are completely renovated are new. Being a Lifetime Platinum number, they upgraded one of our rooms to a King suite on the 23rd floor. It was refreshing because the the hallways and rooms were new and still smelled like fresh paint. The Hotel Manager, Ed Munter, was very nice and friendly and catered to all of our needs during our 1 week stay. I can't say enough about the front desk managers/staff (Chin Ann, Irene, Leah, Jeannie) and also the Lounge staff (Velu and Peshvin) who were extremely helpful and accommodating to me and my family during our stay. The JW Lounge was great, but the buffet breakfast at the Shook Restaurant was awesome. They serve Indian, Chinese, Malay, and Western foods and has something for everybody. I highly recommend anyone visiting KL to stay at this JW Marriott. You will not be disappointed.
All good five star hotels are now a days, almost perfect and I guess this perfection also becomes monotonous or even makes your experience a little cliché (?). Among many high quality hotels only handfuls stand out and you feel your stay was so pleasant that you would certainly like to stay there again and happily recommend to your friends and family. JW Marriott in Kuala Lumpur is certainly one of them and on top of our rating among all other JWMs. When we booked the hotel we found out that a major renovation work is going on and some guests did complain about the noise. After booking the hotel, I found it extremely difficult to contact the hotel direct via email. Eventually, after a lot of research I got their direct email address and requested to give us a noise free room. Although Mr Baker from the JWM wrote back to me almost immediately but his response was irrelevant which showed he didn't read my email properly. After that in next few weeks I wrote to him three more times but he failed to even acknowledge my email (found it rude!). Anyway, soon after I was contact the hotel direct and all was taken care of. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, front desk manager Atiqah looked after us so well that we knew we were in good hands. She was warm, genuine and instantly bonded with our kids. Our room was big, with large 60inch tv screen; bed was comfortable and the pillow option, as expected, was wide. Bathroom was great with all the expected feature and amenities. On our first day we could hear the teeth crunching noise of the drill machine for a while in the morning but that was all. There were some obvious hindrances because of the renovation work, but nothing major enough that stopped us from having a great time there. For example, the swimming pool at the hotel was closed but they offered us full access to the Ritz Carlton and Westin pool and its gym-sauna-spa facility including the kids club. The kids club was so good that we had to plan our outdoor activities so that kids could attend the club. The kids club and pool facility were about five minutes walk from JWM through a uber lux shopping mall-corridor. Unfortunately, we had a problem with our room on and on the third day of our five night stay we found it really annoying. Reported this to the front desk and by the time we were back from our outing, we have already been upgraded to a suite. But at the same time the manager personally apologised for our inconvenience and acknowledged that it shouldn't have happened. The location of this hotel is great- as if you are staying in Fifth Avenue or Regent Street but never feel overwhelmed with crowd or noise. The top high end shopping mall Starhill Gallery is a part of the same building complex where you have LV, Dior, and many other top brands. Within a few yards there are a number of other shopping malls including The Pavilion. Wide range of restaurants, fast food shops, 7Eleven, tour bus stop all are very nearby. Rami at the concierge and Fais at the breakfast restaurant deserve a mention for their attention to detail and readiness for helping people out with a smile. Their breakfast restaurant at the ground floor has a big drawback as it has zero daylight and always feel very dark and sad (the food was really good with widest variety menu possible) The only reason I didn't give this property a Five star is it was partly closed for renovation and can't rate overall without seeing the rest of (as is the lobby and the entry may look dated).
Went to the JW Marriott KL for business. Their rooms have been recently renovated, previous room decor was outdated, so renovation was most welcome. Rooms are brighter and updated, but lobby and gym still under renovation. The taxi pick up and drop off spot is at the Ritz Carlton next door, but going to the JW lobby takes a bit of effort going up and down stairs. Hopefully the renovation work will not take too long. Had access to the executive lounge, which is convenient for check out while having breakfast, but the breakfast options are a bit limited. The property would earn a higher rating from me, but rating as average as the renovation work creates quite an inconvenience to come and go from the hotel.
First time I'm having the lunch with my friend at Shanghai Restaurant @JW Marriott KL, and first time for me to have Shanghainese Dim Sum. The food here is delicious 😋, especially the xiao long bao, crispy duck cheong fun, chicken pie with walnut. " Dong po rou " also good taste. Only one thing make me feel headache is the painting smell and the noise of the renovation beside the restaurant. But anyway, everything is good and staff is attentive and helpful. Definitely I'm will come back to Shanghai Restaurant with my family again.
It is a great hotel in Kuala Lumpur. It is located on a mall and near several malls and shops. There are several great restaurants inside it and near it specially Arabian restaurants. The staff of JW Marriott are helpful and friendly There is some contractions during day light because they are renew the hotel. I suggest to everyone to stay in hotel specially after renewing I like the Al Halabi restaurant (Arabian restaurant) I would to thanks all staff
It's exceedingly rare that I write a review for a stay already in progress, but my current visit to the JW Marriott KL left me confident that there's no hassle that could occur that would not be promptly seen to. This was an award stay with a mix of business while bringing my wife and baby daughter along. Because award stays can only be redeemed towards basic rooms I expressed my desire for a paid upgrade at check-in as I wanted a separate area for the baby cot. Unfortunately Jing at the reception couldn't find any options that matched, given the current state of renovation at the hotel. She was courteous enough to comp us breakfast and the super premium wi-fi as compensation which was a very classy move. Especially as me and my wife love the restaurant Shook! where breakfast is served. We've both had the best wagyu burger of our lives at this place no less than 6 years ago. The newly renovated rooms are stylish and high-end. Even the basic room feels very airy and fresh. The light colors does a lot for imparting a clean sense. This is especially true for the bathrooms which has pleasant sand-colored marble tiles. My wife was especially delighted by the solution of having a large cabin for both tub and shower. Everything the hotel was currently lacking in facilities such as gym or pool due to the ongoing renovation was available to us at the neighboring Westin or Ritz-Carlton. The staff had to play guide a lot to escort us between the facilities. This was all known to us beforehand however so I won't hold it against them. I can imagine that anyone booking through a third party and lacking this info might be put off however. It should be noted that I hold no status with Marriott any more (*sob*) so I'm afforded the same service as all regular customers, and that baseline I've found to be most excellent. The soft product is what is really keeping this property above many others in the region. I wouldn't think twice about returning when the renovations have been finished to enjoy the hotel at its finest.
The hotel is good but the staffs are not good in english and they are not attentive as well for the prompt service. lot of things need to change especially the guest service. otherwise all good along with good location of the city of KL.
Everyone have to try the best Shanghai food in Kuala Lumpur Jw Marriott . The tasteful thing is Xiao long bao and dong bo rou.If you not try yet please come and try . The taste was so good but a bit high.
The JW has been fantastic! The staff have been really accommodating. Breakfast and food options are endless. The renovations in July 07 have been a little annoying with the day time noise & no onsite pool or gym. They have one at the adjoining Ritz but it's a pain to walk to.
