Enjoy panoramic views from room window.A nice swimming pool.dedicated staff.a wide variety of food. Good discount for advanced booking.happy to have been upgraded twice Overall a worthwhile experience.

Location is good. Old and big hotel. Expensive. Breakfast buffet is really good.

WE had three rooms for six adults with breakfast included. On the last day we requested box breakfast since we had to leave at 6:00 am to catch a flight. We had a long conversation night before with Ms. Nazirah Azenan, Guest Service Manager. She insisted giving us an apple, a croissant and a box of orange juice. We requested bread and cheese along with that. She refused repeatedly. We suggested that since we had paid for the breakfast we should receive credit. WE requested to talk her supervisor Mr. Manimaran, the front office Manager. We were told that he is not available and we sent an email on that night but so far we have not heard back. To our surprise at the time of checkout there was no box breakfast for all of us. We still insist to receive credit for that morning (December 15, 2015) breakfast for all six of us. Hope to receive a prompt response. This was a very unpleasant experience. Please note that other staff were very professional and helpful except Ms. Azenan.

All was good cannot complain. Location and area is big for long stay.

The service at the hotel is top notch, but the rooms are pretty outdated. The carpeting is a little worn out and the bathroom fixtures having fading paint and hardened water stains. For the price though, it was outstanding.

Lobby is very impressive. The staff are amazing always smiling and helpful. Located right in the center of the city, close to shopping malls, transportation (monorail), restaurants, Bukit Bintang, china town and the famous Petronas Towers. Breakfast buffet has a wide array of dish including western, middle eastern, european, chinese and of course malay. It's not very pricey-good value for the money. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we will stay here again if ever we get the chance to visit again.

Arrived in KL early in the morning, booked to stay at the Club room. Very friendly and welcoming check-in at the 20th floor reception. Served complimentary breakfast at the adjacent club tearoom. Which also serve complimentary afternoon tea and evening drinks and nibbles. Have inadvertently prepaid breakfast for my stay, but the International breakfast served at the ground floor has substantial selections and an overall pleasant experience. Shopping and eateries at Bukit Bintang area is convenient 10 minutes walking distances.

We went to Malaysia for a quick tour and a gift to our 79 year old mother. It was an experience to remember forever. Istana is a great hotel. Very accessible to shops, dining as well as transportation. You can walk leisurely to these places. I certainly would book in this hotel on the next visit.

Staff were great. Hotel were too old. Location is near to clubs. Too pricey for an old unrefurbiahed wat used to b a 5 star hotel

value for money. the rooms are spacious and clean but the carpet needs to be changed (looks and feels old). location is great, staff are polite and helpful.

Good hotel at the price offered.. Great location just opp pavilion n pubs n cafe. Walking bridge to KLCC. Staff are friendly but you need to approach them to ask for help. Amenities a bit old n tired but we enjoyed the spaciousness unlike new hotel. Will come back again.

I go to KL for business and Istana is central and within walking distance to shopping and great restaurants.

I love hotel istana Malaysia . Ill be coming to Malaysia again and stay in the same hotel

I don't know why they are not responding to my request. They keep saying "wait!" but never "do" it.. or never properly explain. i don't even want to say more about that hotel. also breakfast at the hotel is way too expensive regarding its quality. never have breakfast there.

The room was very clean except for some kind of leak in the bathroom. The issue was promptly addressed. The service was excellent. The hotel is in excellent location - 2 minute walk to Raja Chulan monorail station which has trains to go to KL sentral station. 15 minute walk to Petronas towers and Pavilion mall (Bukit Bintang area). This hotel was definitely a good deal for the price. Would definitely recommend.

We spent 3 days 2 nights in Kuala Lumpur and enjoyed the stay at Hotel Instana very much. Room was clean and comfy (althought I was surprised by the BIG tube style TV). Staff was very very friendly and accommodating. We checked out at noon but they stored our luggage and allowed us to shower and change 8 hours later as our flight departed around midnight. Also, location was great, just a block from many places to eat and 2 malls. KLCC is also near by.

First we were wowed by the nice building they have, and the hotel smells great too like scent from Lovely Lace brand which is my fav. The receptionist guy was just so so, not that nice, but the check-in & check-out process was so easy. The room was surprisingly great! The Club Suite where my parents stayed, and Deluxe Room where me & my husband stayed--both were great. They have a very cold air conditioner even though i already turned it off (don't know where it from). They provide tools for ironing which i found it helpful, and the bathroom was sleek too, even though i found some spots of someone/past guest's red lipstick at the white door they have. Overall, this is a great place to stay and i would love to stay there again.

traditional hotel, very well located, with view to Petronas and KL tower. kind of old however comfortable. the staff was helpful to the extent they could understand english.

Upon arrival a very old room was provided. Dirty floor, dirty shower and ....blood on the bedclothes. Disgusting. After complaining we were provided with another clean room, but only the next day.

Stayed for a four-day business trip and was satisfied in overall. Location & staff are all okay. The breakfast was very good. The Room is spacious and clean but needs some repair and polishing, for example, an electric kettle and table. Adding a safe and iron to a room would be required. No wire-less internet access in the room was a big problem.
