As the title states, this was a very nice hotel Not far from the train station, friendly and welcoming staff in the reception and a perfect area in the lobby with free coffe where you can have a small meeting in a relaxed environment (or just chill out with a cup of surprisingly good coffee). We took a local beer and a bruschetta (sandwich) in the bar - And that just have to be the abslutely best "Getostbruschetta" I've ever tasted. It was just wicked good! I had a room on the 6th floor, with a fantastic view over the city. All in all - A very nice hotel!
This was a very basic, below average experience. Nothing much to tell neither of the hotel nor the city. The hotel is dated and in dire need for a total makeover. The chair in my room was so worn you almost landed on the floor when you sat in it. And the room was very dusty as well. No fridge, no water boiler/coffee maker. Hard to find electric outlets. The staff seemed fed up as well. No smiles, hello, or anything. Even the cleaning staff ignored you completely. Btw - the check-in was very fast and swift. On the plus side? - Free parking in the back, but very crowded. Late arrivers will not make it. - Free coffee in the reception area, which actually was quite nice. - Very central. - Ok bed but I had a room facing the street, so much traffic noise. - Free, but not very good, wifi - Ok breakfast but a bit caotic and under-staffed
Good hotel, vriendin employees. Good breakfast. Free parking at back of hotel. Close to center. Free coffee and tea in lounge, spacious rooms. Free wifi. Special playroom for children. One remark for improvement: bathroom outdated.
We stayed here after three days of camping, so naturally anything with a shower would seem good. But it actually was quite nice. Great location, friendly staff, free parking, and the rooms were clean and comfy. The relax area was also nice. The restaurant was also good. We only had breakfast there, but it was very enjoyable. It's a good buffet with a lot of selection.
Went to Växjö to celebrate my 50s birthday with the show Sveriges historia with Özz och Måns. The hotel was a little bit dissappointing. The rooms and especially the bathroom was dated. We had the room farest away from the elevators and windows to the backyard so it was quiet, good for me. Fortunate the breakfast was very good, unfortunate as I got ill after a visit at Pinchos where I belive I got cashewnuts in my food though I am allergic, so on the second day I couldn't enjoy any breakfast just plain youghurt. If we go to Växjö again I think we will choose another hotel as there are several other and I will not eat at Pinchos 😔
We stayed in Växjö for one night on our way to Stockholm (the convenient, small airport is at a 25 minutes bus ride). This was just good for one night. Hotel situated at ca. 1 km from the station, just outside the small city center (with shops and restaurants). Good room on 2nd floor, decent breakfast, small pool and sauna in the basement. Nothing special or luxurious, but that is not what the hotel promises. Just basic stuff, and that is good. We payed 100 EUR for a double room on a Friday night.
Since my last visit It feels the same at this hotel. Centrally located and many nice restaurants close to the hotel. Especially the asian one Foodie! Breakfast could be a little more extensive, but the most important stuff is available.
So I booked the single room, received room 533. Walked in and immediately knew it wasn't going to be good. Big metal case on wall was not a hidden flat screen, it was 2 hidden bunk beds! Old dates desk furniture with wooden swivel and no tv. Bathroom included a window cleaner - had no idea why...until I showered and realize that this was to stop flooding water running out of bathroom door. Upon arriving I immediately asked for other room/upgrade but unfortunately they were fully booked. Room was warm and clean bedding. Next day I asked again and there were a few available. I moved to a double room which was much nicer but same old dated bathroom which was awesome in 1980. Breakfast is good - buffet with all you need. In city centre so great location No views to write home about...for that take a walk to the lake at the top of the Main Street Food I recommend Pinchos the mobile restaurant, moshi Japanese and Lilla Mexican. Thanks
Nothing bad to say, nothing much to give kudos for either. Recently overtaken by the Norwegian Nordic Choice chain and therefore no more a Best Western hotel the Royal Corner feels more of a corner than royal. Clean room though. Horrible breakfast.
OK, the bathroom was kept in an original 80's style. But. Everything clean. WIFI OK. A smile at the reception. Above average breakfast in the attached commercial restaurant. Convenient parking - free until 9 AM across the street. Four stars in my book.
- Free breakfast
