Stayed here for 2 weeks while in krabi, great location as it's in between 2 beaches and only a 5 min walk from bars and restaurants. Perfect to stay for a couple of nights but not 2 weeks as the hotel is very limited. Rooms are big and clean, swimming pool is heated and a nice size and well maintained! Breakfast was included in our package but Restaurant wasn't open for most of our stay which we were not made aware of beforehand by our rep and we only found out 3 days into our stay that restaurant floor was being done so it wasn't open for 7 days, however we didn't eat in restaurant after floor being completed! In the mean time they had little room for breakfast.. the day we went to see what it was like we were put off straight away because there were ants and flys all over the food, If you stay at timber house don't bother with the breakfast. Staff at hotel not great with the English language but they are very helpful and will always try to help!
The hotel premises are acceptable. the bed was clean and this is the most important for me. The Price is extremely cheap even comparing to others in the country. The staff very nice and they try to help all the time even don't speaking well english. they explain about external activities, prices and services in the area. They picked me up from the airport with a very nice car.
We were there 3 nights and I would not recommend it. 1) Wifi does not work properly. 2) My room did not have power plugs Next to bed. 3) Pool closes too early (19:00 h) 4) Staff does not speak/understand English. 5) When you book a doble room with double bed, they give you two beds and when you ask they do not fix It. 6) Airco sounds like a Grand Prix.
Nice to stay here one minute to the main Beach and market and many restaurants good room comfortable good swimming pool and private beach I like it. Good English speaking staff tour counter taxi service all good
We were in Timber House with our friends. The hotel is quite good due to location and quietness. The pool is great - with natural stones around, it's big - with different levels and hydromassage area, also very clean. The double room is very spaceful but slightly old, the balcony (on the 1st floor near the pool) is convenient - with wood table and benches. But be ready to clean something, because of the dust is appear in the room and in the balcony despite of cleaning every day. The flloor in the restaurant was constantly dusty. We asked about repair of air-con twice and the specialist came immediately. Also air-con was noisely... The breakfast is excellent - with thai cooking meals, traditional cereals and fried eggs with tomato, meat balls, vegetables, fruits, milk, yogurt, rice etc. Ao nang beach is 15-20 min from hotel - it's lovely place also for travelling to the islands.
We stayed for 4 nights at this resort. Cheap & good. We do agreed that the reception staffs need to be more service oriented towards guests. They spoke very minimal English. In fact, the best staffs in Timber House will be the staffs that send you & your luggages to your rooms. Pros - Cheap, good location, good housekeeping service, quiet, clean swimming pool & children friendly. Free bottled mineral water. Simple breakfast. Cons - Reception staffs need to be trained in handling guests' enquiries & smile more. We reached the resort at around 3.15pm but on of our rooms was only ready at 4.45pm. Aircon was loud throughout the quiet night. Only one pillow for each guest in the room. Bottomline is you get what you pay. Great for family with young children. We stayed at the Superior Family room that comes with 1 king size bed & 1 single bed. Will stay here again in near future when other similar resorts in Ao Nang are full.
We had only a one night stay in Ao Nang, as we used this as our stay before heading to the islands. Thankfully we struck it lucky with the hotel we chose. If staying in Ao Nang this is definitely one to consider. Good location between two nice beaches. The nightlife in Ao Nang can be quite hectic with lots of bars and restaurants and this hotel is ideally located far enough away not to hear but close enough to walk to. The hotel itself was lovely and well kept, the rooms all had safes and were very clean. Only draw back on the rooms were the safes required a key with a massive fine if this was lost, while most other places we stayed used the more modern pin code . The pool area was lovely and pleasant to use. The staff , although we only encountered briefly all seemed pleasant. We partied too hard and were a little late for breakfast but the staff allowed us to avail of what was left which was really nice of them as many places would just turn you away. Overall good experience and worth a try
I checked in around 9pm. The lady at the front desk seemed to be annoyed by us checking in. She tried to say our reservations didn't include wifi so I had to prove to her it was included or else I wouldn't have booked there :) I soon found out that wifi wasn't available in the rooms. Unfortunately I needed wifi to do my work, so that sucked. They said it's being fixed so MAKE SURE IT'S FIXED BEFORE YOU BOOK WITH THEM! Aside from that, the pool was nice. The breakfast was ok. We were lucky enough to have a food market popup across the street from us and that was amazing. It's in between two popular beaches so that was nice as well. Unfortunately I wasn't too keen on Ao Nang. It was dull and there are nicer places to visit in Thailand.
Hotel is in poor shape and in need of a refurb. Shabby decor and furnishings, glum staff and WiFi only by pool so I spent most of my time elsewhere. On the positive side, the pool is nice and the room is clean and cheap, but the AC sounds like an old car running in the corner of the room. There are nicer places to stay in Ao Nang.
Horrible night, extremely unfriendly staff, allnost embarrassing. Airco was very loud and trembled on The wall, room light could not be switched off, noisy at nicht because of construction works, Continental breakfast was uneatable because thousands o wasps werd mixed in The confiture no cooling was available for Milk, butter, eggs. Worst of all was that staff did nit help us tot arrange a taxi tot het tot he hospitaal because our 3 year old son got very sick zo we needed to carry him ourselves over The streets searching for a taxi. Unworthy of any recommendation. Reminded me of lousy backpacking experiencing in The spoiled garbage Arras of The Turkish Riviera.
