Dear Sunny!, From the receptionist to manager director, everything was 100 % pleasurable during our stay in the pearl of Andaman sea. We had a beach view villa, the room was big enough and the out door bathtub was a great surprise. The breakfast was delicious, and so was the dinner menu. Spa was a thrill with its services. A bit far from Ao Nang beach, but the taxi was more than convenient. Thx to each and everyone on the resort, Jitti and Ken
Resort is beautiful located in a quiet corner with a large private beach rigty in front. Rooms are very well designed and restaurant designed in the middle of a pond. They had kayaks for guests to use. Easy to take tours from the hotel itself. On the expensive side especially the spa. Staff were not very friendly.
We have holidayed in Thailand many times due to the serivice, value for money in luxurious resorts and the friendliness of Thai people. Wishing to explore another area we chose the Tubkaak Boutique Resort. This resort is not cheap, especially as we chose the Seaview villa which was freestanding but if you are after an extremely relaxing holiday with your own lap pool and view over the most amazing of views then this is it. We utilised our lap pool and beach rather than go to the common pool area - we did not need to mingle with the other guests - just needed to recoup. The outdoor bath and shower was magnificent, the best we have ever had. The temperature of Thailand at the time allowed for such bathing so you were never cold getting in/out of the shower/bath. The beach whilst quite shallow was easy to take a dip and the view over the magnificent limestone islands was amazing .....every day! Staff were helpful for the most oart - I had an issue with being told I had to cover up my very modest bikini top at breakfast (after a strenuous hike up a nearby mountain and had not packed appropriate gym gear) although the next day another female entered with an equally revealing gym top and was left alone. Not a huge deal but unnecessary and a little embarrassing. We were also locked out of our room once after we vacated it for the daily clean. The onsite manager was very friendly and tried to interact with all the guests. I felt a little more imfromation on the small number of paid activities would have been helpful. The boat trip to Hong island could have been explained better as the long boat driver spoke little to no English and we were not aware of the timing needed. Try the small seafood restaurant just down the beach for delicious, slightly lower priced food. All in all a beautiful place, beautiful views, away from everything - just a couple of hiccups that would make it a 5 star.
We ended our trip to Thailand at this spectacular resort. We have nothing but positive things to say about this resort. The grounds are beautiful with creeks flowing through and koi fish ponds. The views are amazing! We ate at the Thai restaurant every night. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. This resort is very romantic, a perfect spot for couples. Our room was gorgeous! Our balcony overlooked the pool. The room and bathroom room were very clean. The shower and tub area in the bathroom was partly outside, which we loved. The staff were so polite and helpful. They helped us plan excursions in the area. This is such a beautiful resort and we had a wonderful and peaceful stay. We even did yoga in the morning looking out on to the ocean. I would absolutely stay at this resort again and highly recommend it for a romantic getaway. Everything from the grounds, views, room, amenities, food, and service was perfect! Looking forward to staying again in the future.
I booked this small resort hotel on the beach on the basis of previous Tripadvisor ratings and it did not disappoint. Tubkaak beach is shallow, sandy and empty. Day trippers do not make it here - the only people on the beach are the residents in the four smallish hotels located here. (I had had an appalling experience in the past on Railay beach - swamped by day tourists, such that the sea was full. On this occasion, I was looking for somewhere quieter). The beach, sea and island views are lovely and the sunset views are outstanding. There are few rooms here and the resort - despite being full over Songkran/Easter - did not feel "full". I had reserved a beach pool villa, which was beautiful with a smallish pool (about 5 x 3 metres). I swam both here and in the hot, hot, hot sea when the tide was in - just a few steps from my pool deck. My room was number 161 and it seemed to have the best views of the beach of all the beach pool villas (although it has to be noted that there is little privacy - this is the trade-off for lovely sea views). The room also featured the usual sunken bath and outdoor shower. When it worked (often poor satellite link) there was BBC World News on the TV. The Thai restaurant is laid back and unpretentious. Happy hour takes place between 5:30 and 6:30 as the sun sets. There is a good choice of Thai food (both "Bangkok style" and "Southern" dishes. I did not try the Italian restaurant. The spa is very good - the treatment rooms are housed in amazing conical buildings - something like the oast houses of Kent in England! It should be stressed that the entire resort is quiet and laid back. There is no night life (although you can take the shuttle bus to two nearby destinations if you crave crowds and noise). The only facilities are a pool, spa, restaurants and two kayaks. There are - of course - day trips which the hotel can organise to other destinations, including by boat. This all suited me well as I came for peace, quiet and relaxation. My only gripe was the gardening staff's utter incomprehension that the guests want peace. One the first day, a noisy lawn mower was going for hours, just tidying a 20m x 20m patch of grass. Then on day four, the gardening team of six men started to uproot trees all around my beach villa. They work pretty slowly and spent an inordinate amount of time chatting or staring into my private deck and pool, which I did not appreciate. A small gripe, but why could this tree work not be done in the off-season when there are almost no guests? If this hadn't happened, I would have given the resort five stars!
Spent 6 days there, the hotel was surprisingly nice and beautiful. We stayed at the private pool villa and it has a lot of privacy. The hotel and rooms are very nicely kept. One disappointed issue was with one of the male waiter in their thai restaurant, the first night I was there by myself, I wanted the front drinking table for dinner, the reception waitress specially arranged the front table in front of the beach for me to watch the sun set and have dinner. Than this male waiter asked me to leave and said someone reserved that table. (Well obviously the reception wouldn't give me that table if that table was really reserved, so I confronted him and he gave me a "face") not only that, he gave me the wrong order. So that dinner was not so nice. The last night, we went for a drink on the same table, not knowing it's non smoking, I lighted a cigarette and the same waiter came straight to me and told me it's non smoking and someone was complaining ( no one was near 5 meters radius) i don't know why he has to make up this, he can simply said non smoking and I would happy to comply. The whole dinning experience in that thai restaurant doesn't feel welcoming. The food was great. But some individuals needs to put customer service first. I paid for experience not just good food and room. I have other options to stay in the future if that doesn't improve.
A beautiful little resort in a stunning location on the beach. We visited only for two nights, but would have been happy to stay much longer. The plunge pool room we had was fabulous, very traditional but equipped with everything you need. The food and service were first class and the staff were always on hand to assist. Highly recommended!!!
This was a wonderful Hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and cute, very beachy. Spa menu was excellent and I did the after sun aloe treatment as a precaution and I truly believe it helped! This hotel is really secluded, there are 3 or 4 other hotels on the beach but that's it, you have to really be okay staying at the resort. I didn't really believe this in reading the reviews, but it is accurate. They do have a shuttle on specific days into town, but I was happy watching the sunset sipping on happy hour cocktails then having dinner and getting an early night to bed to hit the beach in the am. I did the Hong Island tour, it was a little disappointing, but reasonably priced. I had wanted to a phi phi snorkel trip but they weren't running it because of Songkran. I very much enjoyed my stay here, but I'm happy reading a book on the beach and admiring the ocean view. It is not a party resort at all, in fact there seemed to be less drinking than normal.
From start to finish our stay here was perfect. A friendly welcome, a lovely room, warm quiet pool with ample sun beds or a short stroll to the white sandy beach. Great choice of foods at breakfast and nice Italian or Thai restaurants for lunch/dinner. A week here after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok was the perfect way to unwind and catch some sun. The hotel also offers shuttles into krabi town or ayonang for some local culture. Just what the doctor ordered!!
We spent 4 nights at the Tubkaak Boutique resort recently and it has to be one of the most beautiful beach resorts we've ever visited. You definitely get what you pay for as it is one of the most expensive resorts in the area, but it's worth it! The beach is a 10 out of 10 - very swimmable, beautiful views and warm, emerald water. Fara at the front desk was so helpful, even when some of our requests were challenging (such as changing US money, which they only take if it is brand new and uncreased and untorn- a tall order with US dollars!). I took two yoga classes with Tannie, which were excellent. Her english is great and she teaches a true "all levels" practice. Our amazing server at the main restaurant, A, was just wonderful and always there with a smile. Of course, the food on property is more expensive than what you'd find off the resort, but it was great. We liked both restaurants and had a fun more romantic dinner one evening at the Italian restaurant. Definitely take advantage of the shuttle into Ao Nang for massages and nighttime shopping. The resort massages are VERY expensive compared to all other available options. I tried a massage at the resort for about $40 US and then got a massage in Ao Nang for about $5 and the $5 massage was much better! And then there's the room! We splurged and booked a room with one of the private pools. Such a treat. Completely private pool plus a large deck for relaxing. I'd recommend grabbing a bottle of wine at duty free and enjoying it in your own little pool.
