I arrived late evening and customer took long time for me to enter Ukraine. Driver from the hotel was waiting for me all this time and at 1 am i didn't expect it. I don't eat pork and breakfast was customized for me. Girls at reception are very helpful, room was very clean and cleaned each day very good. I used free transfer to metro station, trip to downtown took about 15 min from the hotel. Very nice garden and nice place to walk around. Liked the hotel and will come back in September with my Ukrainian girlfriend.
Very friendly staff who welcomed us late and made us breakfast at 3:00 am, perfect pick up from station, close to the airport. Very good option for business trips; from the centre you will need a taxi.
Im so much excited about that hotel that even decided to write the review. Me and my partner spent 4 unforgotabble days in Kiev and this stay was perfect thanks to the hotel staff and owners. We were looking for place in the city but calm to have privacy. The hotel has 7 rooms only and big garden! Our breakfast was served in garden for time we asked and was great. Room was clean, nice, cozy, comfortable and always with fresh flowers. We got valubale information from owner there to go and what to see in the city. Dinners were served in the garden and in the room and was very good except choice of vine is very limited. And also we had cherry from the garden and that was lovely.
This family-run hotel is a refreshing alternative to bland corporate chains. Care and attention has clearly been given to the interior, with each room featuring individual décor. Our clean room had nice furniture including a comfy sofa [couch] although no desk - the adjacent room had a desk but no sofa, so it would be worth checking the type of room you'll need. Windows in our room had light-stop blinds which I find really helpful for sleeping. Bathroom was well equipped, although the hairdryer was a bit temperamental. Ditto the DVD player in the main room. There was a smart coffee machine on the dresser. Reception staff are friendly and obliging. Meals are available throughout the day and late into the evening. The menu is rather limited, but daily specials are offered depending on what the owner's family are having that day! Food is presented nicely. At the time of our stay (early February 2017) a dedicated dining room was planned for construction later in the year, so we ate at a table in the pleasant lobby area or in our room. The owners are ecologically minded and do what they can to minimise environmental impact. This is relatively unusual in Ukraine, where environmentalism is generally at a nascent stage. Recycling is possible through the hotel and there is even an outdoor power socket which can be used for charging electric vehicles in the hotel's secure parking area. (There is a car hire company in Kiev which rents out electric vehicles.) I look forward to returning in spring/summer to enjoy the garden.
We stayed at the hotel in September 2010, and just now went through our photographs from that time. We recall fondly a friendly place, to which the cab driver brought us late but no matter…hot soup and tea were brought for us by management. There is a wonderful Cossack-style restaurant within walking distance of Ostelya, so we did not go without. Yes, the hotel may be in the suburbs, but it is very convenient by public transit to the central city. Best wishes to all!
I have already written 1 review about this hotel and said I would return on my next visit to Kiev and I kept my promise. In fact I had 2 visits - a single night before Christmas and 3 more nights 3 weeks later in January. A return visit often disappoints, but not in this case and just confirms that the excellent standards discovered on my first visit were not 'lucky', but that they are consistent. The first return visit was arranged following an exchange of about 5 emails, all of which were answered promptly and helpfully. Between the visit in December and my return in January circumstances regarding room requirements and travel changed on a number of occasions and were communicated by email. Again, these were answered promptly and all my changes were noted and requests for pickups / room alterations were answered in the affirmative. Pickups were arranged by the hotel to and from the airport, railway and bus stations and the restaurants. In addition, they organised a guided tour advertised in the hotel literature. This visit also gave me the opportunity to sample food other than breakfast and they did not disappoint. If you wish to take all the worry about transport in Kiev off your shoulders, if you want a hotel that is spotlessly clean and staff who strive to be helpful and friendly and if you look for value for money, then look no further. I shall return yet again!!!
This hotel has two great things going for it. First, it's just a very nice, small place. It's very clean, the rooms (I've stayed in two) are spacious, some overlooking the lovely side yard, and the beds are very comfortable. All rooms have decent wi-fi. The second great thing is the people who work there. They are all very friendly, they all speak English, and they are all attentive to their customers' needs. For instance, when there was a problem with a taxi, Oksana the hotel manager drove me to the train station. Drawbacks? The biggest one is that it is not centrally located, and it's not an easy trip to the central city - it's on big-city streets that can be congested. Still, if you don't mind taking taxis or if you have a car (they allow parking, but I didn't have a car), it won't be a problem. Oselya is in a residential neighborhood - a nice one - and there's not much to walk to, plus there can be barking dogs at night. Highly recommended!
I stayed in this little hotel during my visit in kiew and can just recommend it. It's a family business, there rooms are very clean and the staff very friendly and always helpful. The only flaw is its remote location in a suburb, but the metro ist just 15 min away, so no problem.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on my first visit to Kiev . The staff can not do enough for you , recommending places to visit and assistance with travel . The rooms are clean and welcoming and breakfast in the garden is a lovely way to start the day . The hotel is slightly out of town , however a short taxi ride away and a lovely place to come back to after a long day . I can not recommend this hotel enough if you want to see behind the tourist side of kiev .
We’ve stayed at Oselya hotel for a couple of days, but I felt like I’ve been here a lot of times....They are top of hospitality, excellent service and comfortable location. Each room at hotel is like a new different story, decorated in each special style and interesting named. We have stayed for example in room called "Reminiscent about Italy"...Breakfast we had same special...they served it in alcove in beautiful garden. They also give free transfer to the nearest subway station. I hope to stay at this hotel when I visit Kiev again. I would recommend this hotel to every one planning to travel to Kiev! Good luck to you Oselya! See you again:)))
