Sunrise Suites Resort3.0 out of 5.0

Planned a birthday surprise in key west for husband while in Fla. stayed at the Sunrise Suites Resort. Our condo was very nice, clean and efficient. I felt the rules regarding the pool were not enforced. People took dogs to pool, glass containers to pool and there were kids runnng and jumping in and out of the pool. For the money that it costs to rent a condo there should be more supervision of the pool area.
Lovely condo block with swimming pool minutes from the airport. Our apt was a 2 bed, lovely large rooms and bathrooms, kitchen living space was good with a double sofa bed (comfortable) and a reasonable sized balcony With a little bit of TLC, this apartment could be smashing. Just needs a bit of love from owner/maintenance crew
What a wonderful surprise we found at this location! Better than any hotel! Every convienence you could imagine. We have deemed this a place for the family to come back to! The best part is Fido can come too! So definitely a place for the entire family! Just minutes drive from Mallory Square yet in the quiet part of Key West so you can sit back and truly relax! Enjoy your meals on the terrace . This location has both covered and open parking. Tennis Courts, pool, close to stores & restaurants. Why pay high prices for a hotel room when you can have a full 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment for less? Don't need a rock to fall out the sky here in this house! We will definitely be back to this location!!! Don't miss this opportunity yourself!
Always travel here for work. No major complaints. Upkeep is decent. Location is good, and walking distance from airport. Have had no issues in the few months I’ve spent here over the years. Parking is complicated sometimes when it’s season but that’s part of life here
We stayed in suite 210 and it needs a thorough cleaning. There was hair everywhere, I'd say the floors haven't been cleaned in a very long time. We asked for extra blankets and they brought in 2 blankets that both had big holes in them. Housekeeping came in on day 4 and removed some dirty towels (not all of them) but did not replace them with any others. The towels that were gathered from all the rooms that day sat in bags in the hallway and were still there when we left on day 7. Our group was pretty disappointed in the condo itself but the grounds were kept nicely.
We were looking in Key West for accommodations for four and to our good fortune found The sunrise suites. Located about 10 minutes drive from downtown Key West we loved that it was far enough away from the crowds yet easy to get to. I think there is even a bus available of you dont have a car or rent a scooter as there are plenty around to rent. There were 2 couples and our bright clean condo had everything we needed and was very spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a large living space kitchen and balcony with furniture. We had everything we needed and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes etc. We were on the 4th floor and it was very quiet. Also had a covered parking stall. Since we had paid in advance check in was easy as there wasnt any!! We received an email will a key code, let ourselves in, stayed 4 nights then packed up and left. Easy peasy. There is an office if you need anything but our stay was flawless. There is a laundry and a pool and I saw tennis courts. Quite a few amenities near by. Next visit I would stay longer!!
We went to Key west on a family trip and really it was accommodating. The suite (apartment) was clean and had all the necessities. The location was good and easy to access. Had fun at the pool with the kids. The best thing for me was how peaceful it was. Great for just relaxing.
We spent 3 days here with four persons. The condo will sleep 6 with a sofa bed but four with a king and queen bedding. It had lots of room with 4 persons but tight with 6. The furniture was almost new as was the compleat kitchen. We enjoyed feeding the turtles, swimming in the pool, and the quiet location. We plan to return soon.
The Seaside Sunrise Suites fit a definite need for our party, but I can see how you would be disappointed here. We were a family with three adults, two kids and an infant in town for the Swim Around Key West. Therefore, the two bedroom, two bath suite was ideal. Also, the full kitchen and laundry room were a HUGE help. Because we were so busy with the race, and had the kids with us, the run down (and they are a bit run down....refrigerator, and cabinets leaning off kilter, peeling, mildew in the bathrooms, etc.) nature of the rooms and amenities really didn't bother us. But they ARE a thing. I will run down the positives and negatives and you can decide. Positives: You are basically getting two full hotel rooms for the price of one. Full kitchen, a laundry room, and a private balcony. Nice pool area with a barbecue area. Gated, residential style area. Right next to the airport and very close to Smather's beach. Lots of parking. Reasonably priced convenience store on grounds. Negatives: Pet friendly hotel that does not monitor the guests pets. I was almost bitten a few times by very aggressive dogs in the hallway. Rooms ARE (at least ours were) run down and a bit janky, especially the bathrooms. Not located anywhere near Duval Street or Mallory Square. Property manager (who I tried to strike up a friendly and polite conversation with as he was bum rushing people out of the pool area at ten o'clock) could use a few lessons in how to actually treat paying guests. He was just short, and curt, and acting put out that we were even there. All in all, when we return, we will look for a different place, but if you need a large space and are able to look past small annoyances, then this place is just fine.
First I will start off by saying that reception desk personnel are friendly and helpful. The guys on the free shuttle to the airport and into downtown Key West were loads of fun and made you feel welcome each time you rode with them. Even remembered our names with each ride. Grounds are clean and fairly well maintained. Nice pool with clean bathrooms and good amount of seating. Hot tub is rather small. Our condo was clean but rather outdated. No eating area inside except for a bar with stools. We were able to eat on the porch if not raining. We were on fourth floor and there is no overhead covering to protect from elements. Mattresses were very soft and should be replaced. Plenty of towels and housekeeping eager to give you whatever supplies you may need. Not sure if everyone that rents gets the under the building parking but we did and it was very beneficial with the rain. Good location for walks and easy to get around if you are driving. Airport sits behind building but noise was minimal. It was actually fun watching planes take off and land.
