I asked for a quiet Room.....I certainly got just that. My Bed was so comfortable, I wanted to take it Home with me. The location of this Hotel was so convenient for a visit to Stratford upon Avon and for a visit to Kennilworth attractions. There appeared to be plenty of Parking faciluties at the rear of the Hotel. The Staff were obliging and accommodating. Breakfast was varied...plenty of choice and professionally presented. I will use this Hotel again if I have occasion to visit that area. Finally, the cleanliness of the Hotel was evident in the Rooms that I had occasion to use.
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. I had an evening meal which was memorable for all the right reasons. My room was spotless and I had a comfortable night, followed by an excellent breakfast. The WiFi signal was full strength wherever I used it and quite fast. The car parking was free and I had no problem with my large van, although I did check in quite early. (16.30.) The booking was made for me by the company I work for, and they have asked me for feedback. I will suggest that they make this place their first choice for this area.
The Room was small tired shabby and dirty, in need of a major update. The breakfast was very poor quality. The portion sizes were pathetic. You only get 1 of everything and even that wasn't cooked enough on both of our breakfasts. Go to the premier inn for comfort, cleanliness and better quality food. The flooring creaked when you walked around, which must have annoyed those below us. The shower temperature was like warm at best. The room was issued daily with fresh towels. Avoid this place otherwise you WILL be disappointed.
Stayed for one night. Very nice welcome, polite and courteous. Room TV didn't work, so got moved to another room (106) where TV still didn't work, and was above kitchen so could smell curry, and fan came on very early in morning which woke me up. Breakfast was excellent, and table service which is unusual these days. Generally rooms are very dated. Stayed the night before in Bloom hall, same price but standard much higher. Location was very good, just a short walk from kenilworth town centre.
The room was poorly decorated. Light fixtures had missing bulbs, there were 3 tiny lights poking out from ceiling with no fixtures. Long crack along ceiling. The bed was 2 large singles pushed together. Floor boards creaked badly. We could hear the people above us moving around. Thought at one stage they were going to come through the ceiling. On a positive note, dining area was nice although could also have a fresh paint job. Staff are friendly and the breakfast was fantastic. We had full English. It was very tasty. There were pastries, cereals, yogurt and fruit to choose from too. There's also a car park at the rear. Not too far from other bars restaurants and shops.
The hotel was a lovely place to stay very clean throughout and the breakfast was superb staff very helpful could not fault the hotel at all a nice stroll into town the carnival was on which was most enjoyable
Well appointed rooms and friendly staff. Visitors lounge and bar area with large squashy sofas is very comfortable. Restaurants and bars to suit all budgets within walking distance. Convenient for all the local attractions in Warwick too.
I didn't intentionally book this hotel. I was placed here by my original hotel which was overbooked. I had a lovely room- large double with very nice ensuite but..... no hot water so had to forego a shower in the morning. The highlight was The Raffles restaurant. Not cheap but the quality is superb. Beware it can be spicy. If you want it downgraded in spice just say on ordering. The staff are extremely amenable. I would go back- no question about that.
This was the third time I've stayed at the Peacock. Its a decent reasonably priced hotel well located in Kenilworth with good off street parking. Room was comfortable but it was on the ground floor in the annex with a huge fireplace and brick wall and it had a slight musty smell when the windows weren't open. It was also a bit dark. The two double beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. Shower room adequate with plenty of hot water, but, in common with so many accommodation places, there was not enough shelf space to store toiletries or sufficient places to hang towels. We had bikes with us and they were happy for us to store them in the room as they have no secure outside storage. Breakfast was very good and we had an evening meal there one night which was also very good. All the staff were very obliging. I would stay there again should the occasion arise.
Stayed here two nights for work. On the first night the shower wasn't working, it went hot for about 10 seconds then ran cold. In the morning I explained the problem, it was an electric shower so clearly something wrong with the unit. When I arrived back the second evening I was told maintenance had tested it and could find nothing wrong. I asked what level of testing had they done, clearly nothing more than running their hand under it for 5 seconds as it still didn't warm up for any length of time. The receptionist agreed there was a fault and offered a refund of £50, as they were fully booked. However I had long work days and bit of cold so I would have preferred to be able to have a hot shower. The whole problem could have been avoided if the staff had listened and maintenance did a proper job. Breakfast also wasn't great. The first morning I ordered a ham omelette and just got plain. I didn't have a lot of time so I didn't mention it. If you want bad customer and risk of no hot water, stay here. I certainly won't again.
