Stayed in 215. Beautiful unit overlooking the beach. All the immunities that you would need. Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, cooler .. free parking. Comfortable king size bed.. full service kitchen.
Rented unit here for half week Good spot. Right on beach. Has nice path for morning or evening walk. Central location to explore different Areas of island. Only 12 minutes from airport. Good for people who want a nice quiet location and plan to cook meals and eat at home.
This is our 2nd time staying at the Castle Kaha Lani. Both times we booked an ocean front room and the views are breathtaking. The staff is very friendly, the condo was clean, there is security patrolling at night and the area is secluded from a lot of tourists. However, this time we were in building 8 in room 327 which is at the very end of the complex next to the park. Unfortunately, we were awakened EVERY morning of our vacation in paradise at 3:30am by the roosters. Last time we were in building 7 in the middle of the complex and had rooms on each side of us so that may have insulated us some from the sounds and there was maybe 1 rooster in front of that building. This room had at least 10 in front and beside it, because of the park being right next to the room. Closing the windows did not help. But even if you think you may go back to sleep after the first sounds, they keep it up for hours. I just had to let others know that even though it's an amazing place to stay it really does put a huge damper on your vacation to NEVER get to sleep past 3:30am. I would think that would also be true of rooms 227 and 127 which are also at the end next to the park. If you do get stuck in one of these rooms I would ask for huge discount in price because of this horrible inconvenience to your stay.
My wife and I stayed at this resort for 10 days in mid September. It is a great location for touring Kauai and a short drive to the airport. The grounds of the resort are very well kept and presents a nice surrounding. The beach in front of the resort is not assessable with fairly high waves and not good for swimming but there is a state park a short walk away with a nice beach. The rooms are not air conditioned so the Windows must be kept open to get a breeze flowing through for cooling. The afternoons were a bit warm but the evenings are cool and comfortable. The downside of keeping the window louvers open is your exposed to a lot of outside noise, which is not a problem during the daytime but at night can be very annoying. We were kept awake on a number of nights with people yelling and laughing right outside our room. If your looking for a quiet place to stay, I would pick another hotel. The room does have a number of stand up oscillating fans but we're extremely dirty. Our mattress was completely worn out and very difficult to sleep on. We called the resort manager and they replaced it with a new one. The noise from people walking around upstairs was also quite annoying.
Kaha Lani resort has an excellent location on the east side of Kauai, about 5 miles north of the airport and a couple of miles south of Kapaa township. It's a mid-range resort so not the smartest but practical for families. There is one small pool but no jacuzzi. Communal BBQs and communal laundromat (card only). No on-site restaurant. The grounds are well-maintained but the buildings look dated (to me, anyway). Some individual units have been well modernised but others would also benefit from rejuvenation. Unfortunately the condo we rented was one of the "tired" ones, but to be fair we still had a good vacation there. As always it pays to shop around and compare prices. If you can get a good deal at Kaha Lani it might appeal to you more than it did for us. BTW, when you do go to Kauai, make a point of shopping at the local markets: "A quarter the price and twice as nice!"
The location (condominium Resort)is very convenient and family oriented walking distance to park and beach Every attraction are in less than 1 1/2 hours or minutes We checked in late night I let the office know we are arriving after hours the security officer (James)handed our unit keys and paper works we didn’t have too look for him he found us he is like God very nice gentleman Office people are nice Lu and April were very helpful we have late departure flight and they allowed us to checkout late a fee applied but it was great we are four of us two of them in late 80s they loved it , from our back entrance only two or three minutes walk to beach and you can enjoy the sunrise every morning supermarkets and restaurants are few minutes drive
Older well maintained and clean condo with great ocean views. We rented a 2 bedroom 2 bath ground floor unit in building #7, Unit #122 It has a large lanai off the living area and smaller patio are off master bedroom. The kitchen was well equipped with granite counters, 2 microwaves, large oven, dishwasher and double sink. Everything we needed was there. Large screen TV and ceiling fans. This is a spot for families with young children as it's an easy walk to Lydgate park which has a protected beach and large playground. Fantastic ocean front location with large grassy lawns between condo and the ocean front walk. Not air conditioned, but the design and large louvered windows allowed plenty of air flow during our hot July stay. Easy parking, convenient to shops and restaurants, laundry takes credit cards, large plumeria and other flowering trees surround the complex. This condo and location is a real gem on the beautiful garden island.
We had two ground-floor condos (107 and 109) for a group of six. Each couple had a bedroom and a bathroom. The beach was nice to walk but not good for swimming (waves and undertows that week). The concrete path along the water was a great way to go for an easy walk (or cheap bike rental) to Kapa'a. The units were clean, and the kitchens had all the tools we needed. The grills by the pool were clean. Plenty of bedding and towels. The pool was comfortable--no hot tub though. The broken TV was being removed when we arrived, and a new one was delivered the same day. The washer/dryer was broken and didn't get repaired, but they did give us a $50 refund; there was a washer/dryer in the main office too. We saw some people, but it was a pretty quiet week. Parking was great. It was a good central location for us since our activities were all over the island. If you visit, be sure to do the zip line with Outfitters Kauai, hike the canyon and falls off of 580 and 583, kayak up the Wailua River, take a helo tour, and dive Lehua Rock off Ni'ihau with Seasport Divers. We didn't explore the north coast because the road was closed at Hanalei due to the flood.
It's a 1b1b condo with kitchen. It's clean but no AC! The cleaning fee at the end is about $140. This was told only after booking and be prepared to read through the reservation carefully. So that only a long stay like a week or so may make the price reasonable.
Location, location, location... When on an island, you want to see and hear the ocean when you're in downtime. This place has it. Comfortable, clean and the view, view, view. Staying on the east side makes it easy to go either north or south.
