Property looks good on the web site. However, not that well maintained. It's situated in Lazimpat, which is kind of outer of KTM and you may require a ride to visit almost every popular place in KTM. Services offered were good but at a premium cost. Room sizes were small if you opt for deluxe or super deluxe category. Suite room was still better.
Had a terrible dinner with the family. BBQ starters were cold. Salad station was not operational. Waiters did not explain the courses available so a lot of confusion while ordering options. Live music was decent. Don’t think will I will go there again.
This hotel is pretty old in general and I think its time the management consider to refurbish it. Dined in the hotel one of the nights as it was raining heavily and the food was average at best. Service was pretty decent though.
Staying Shangri la @ Kathmandu made us happy, particularly dining department good, the guest care taker Bandana Dhami, excellent, here some words for her hospitality caring, miss Bhandana the light inside you so brightly and really made us feel better, you made whole dining at Shangri la @ Kathmandu much more bearable 🙏
My partner and I stayed for six nights at this hotel in May. The hotel is older and does not have some of the slick features that business travelers and high-end tourists seem to want. But it is a very good place for the price. The room was large but not spacious. The bathroom was functional. Not enough places to charge various devices but enough to get by. The restaurant is very nice and looks out on a wonderful garden. After a hot, sweaty day in Kathmandu, lounging in the garden is a great way to end the day. There is also a nice coffee bar in the garden area and a nice if a bit stuffy bar off of the lobby. Very helpful staff who seem to be always available. We liked it and would stay again.
I have the pleasure of staying in the Sir Edmund Hillary suite at this hotel. I have previously stayed on lower floors at the Shangri La. This room was perfect in every way, especially for the last few days after a trek. The room was very spacious and well fitted out. The bathroom was great as well. The included breakfasts each day offered a wide variety. I have always enjoyed staying at this hotel. I would strongly advise if you intend staying here to stretch the budget just a little .. it's well worth it.
This was a nice enough place to stay and would be worthy of more stars were it not for the charging excessively for a simple thing. No milk in the fridge and we asked for a small jug fir the room for tea. They charged us a high rate for some milk. Everywhere else we went in Nepal and Bhutan did it for free. A shame. Otherwise a pleasant stay.
This Has Been My Preferred Hotel In KATHMANDU For The Past 3 Years, Good Location, Good Room And Amenities, Round The Clock 24 HRS Service, I FEEL VERY HOMELY HERE. IT SHALL CONTINUE TO BE MY Preferred Hotel In KATHMANDU. Returning Back on MAY 15TH, 2019. AC / Heater in the room works perfectly.
One of the best hotels I have ever stayed, together with sister hotel in Kathmandu. Attentive service. Beautiful grounds ans swimming pool. Room was very quiet and beautifully furnished. Food was good too.
