Lovely quiet villas right on the beach.

In Amed, this hotel/ villas is a lovely place to relax on the north east coast of Bali. Lovely pool and atmosphere, away from busy southern Bali, very friendly staff. We are a family of 5 and had a very large 3 bedroom villa, all with seperate bathrooms. Right on the beach, uncrowded, we snorkelled every day.

Beautiful and relaxing. Great price. Amed was our favorite part of our trip to Bali. The beach is rocky but still fun for a quick snorkel. Staff was nice and the restaurant by the pool was rather romantic.

Comfortable setting with direct access to a rocky beach that was great to snorkel. My husband had multiple options to arrange for amazing diving. It was great to break away from the hotel restaurant for alternate food options.

Great Family Friendly Holiday

Amed is a quiet, slow paced area with amazing dive/snorkel beaches. We went to relax, take it easy and snorkel. We did exactly that! We stayed in the family villa, 3bed, 3bath, fully equipt kitchen and huge living area. Views of ocean, pool and fields. Staff beautiful and friendly. Felt welcomed and staff went out of their way to help/play/entertain the children. We felt we could relax and enjoy our holiday knowing we had an extra set of hands/eyes on our four children and the staff even watched our little ones while we snorkled on the beach with our older children. Food was great and staff were happy to make changes when the children asked for variations from the menu items. We even managed to enjoy eating our meals while the children were distracted feeding the koi in the ponds surrounding the resturant. The reef is as easy as walking out from the resort onto the beach. The beach is rocky but that did not stop our children enjoying themselves and we made good use of the resorts pool for the young ones who didn't want to go in the beach. The pool is deep so watching your children is a must but that stands for any pool. We travelled to near by beaches for other snorkel sites such as the Japanese wreck and coral cove. For anyone who loves snorkeling it is perfect. Diving with four children in tow is out of the question so a holiday of snorkelling with the children was perfect and we had a fantastic time! We will definatly be returning!

I feel like I've been scammed!

Absolutely nothing good to say about it! We had a room on the side of a really noisy street, and the bathroom which is open air (just walls, no ceiling) has a door to the bedroom that does not lock, and there is no safety box in the bedroom! I felt really unsafe, someone from the street could have jumped over the wall and into our bathroom and walked into the room. The hotel ground is very dark and needs serious maintenance. The room could only be locked after a "trick" that the staff showed us as she figured it out! Restaurant was dirty and not tasty, poor customer service all around, and the list goes on :(

Apa Kabar Amed, right on the beach

We loved our stay in Apa Kabar. The staff was really helpful and friendly and although we were the only guests at the time, good service was always available. All the villas and cottages except the 3-bedroom villa and one cottage, are in a row facing the sea. The Palm trees and the ones with beautiful flowers make some nice shade to the garden and pool. You can easily walk to the beach for a swim or to walk, but remember to have some shoes as it is a stoney beach. Sometimes the waves can be quite big and you can also hear them inside the cottage, as well as the frogs and gekkos etc. But in Bali you can't hide them! The food in restaurant was really really good and the price almost as low what we could find elsewhere so we ate here everyday except one. I would say Apa Kabar is one of the finest hotels in Amed, but for what it costs, they should be able to do some small investments as fixing the showers or the roof fan (makes too much noise) and cleaning properly the kitchenette in the bigger villa. The internet and credit card connection didn't work during our 4-night-stay, and we had to pay in cash. If you are travelling in a low season you might get a better offer straight from the hotel. I would recommend this hotel very much!

Kleines typisch Balinesisches Hotel am dunklen Strand. Das Personal ist super nett und die Zimmer sind ok. Zum Schnorcheln am Hausriff braucht man nicht extra herfahren - aber das Ambiente und die Umgebung sind sehr nett!
