The King's Town Hotel is a bit hidden away at the back entrance of Kaohsiung Main Station, but it was clean, quiet and had a very comfortable bed. The problem with location is having to pass through the TRA station to reach to main street and the MRT. Despite this, the hotel represents great value.
Although the building is old, but the room was clean and comfortable. The location is quiet good, not noisy, very convenient. For the overall conditions, this hotel has a good price. I may consider it again.
We booked two rooms there in June 2015. The rooms looks pale and old, and the pavement needs to be renovated. Seems that this Hotel might be haunted though it has yet to be confirmed. My daughter said she heard someone knocking the door but no one was there when she open the door. Rooms are quite expensive and service is normal. Would not recommend this Hotel at all.
I've booked this hotel for 1 day only. (+) - Staff were nice - Can speak english (even though not so clear but okay) - Clean - Near MRT station (but you have to go across train station to reach the MRT station. But its quiet near) (-) - Room was extremely old. Not suitable for 4 stars (Agoda said that this hotel was 4 stars) - All plugs were 2 pins North American standard, so if you can't charge your gadget with those kind of plugs, you have to borrow it from room service with deposit of 100 NTD I will think twice if i have to go back to this hotel.
We stayed in this hotel in Jan2014. this is not even to make itself to fit in a hostel standard . we were give a room with all the cookies crums on the floor and a dead bug plus smoking room. we asked to change the room and we were treated like we were lying they need to go and see it and after they saw the mess, we did not even get an apology. they changed a lower floor room for us but it has the old muddy smell , we lose hope with it thanks goodness we only stay there for two nights it was a nightmare payinging a four stars hotel price for crap like this. i woul not even want to stay herw for free. breakfast was crapy. furnitures were in the early 70s . this place need to have a big renov.
Stayed here for one night as part of a group tour. Room was nice, clean and spacious. It is 5 minutes walk to the main railway station so convenient for those traveling to other cities. Lots of taxis outside of the hotel to take you to the markets
The hotel itself is nice. Not sure of the location as we haven't explored Kaohsiung much as tourists. Very close to railway station (just next to it). However, if you need to use subway (metro) then you have to cross the whole train station! We used taxis lining up at the main door. In some walking distance to eatery areas! The front staff and room cleaning ladies was extremely friendly and nice. The WiFi had good speed. TV channels were okay with some English channels. AC was a bit loud. Beds were good. The main disappointment was breakfast. Not really much choice! Very limited! Overally, very nice hotel for value.
Good location, very close to the Kaohsiung station. Staff at front desk were very friendly and cheerful. But the room itself was a bit disappointing, it could be cleaner, for example one of the pillow case was actually dirty and one of the bottled water was already opened. Plus the AC was REALLY noisy. Note: Due to the major construction work at the station (No noise issue), your best bet to get to the hotel from the underground is to go through the main overground train station and not around in the street levels.
Location is at the Kaohsiung Main Railway station but exit is far on the other side of the station. Room deco is old but the size is ok (around 25m2), wifi is fast, room is quiet and tv has English channel. Service staff is good trying best to please and plenty of eatery around the area. Breakfast spread is good (around 15 dishes) and quiet and comfortable lobby. Opposite the hotel is Kaohsiung main clothing distributor and if you love to shop for clothes, this is the perfect hotel for you.
Location is very convenient, its easy to use the train and MRT. Hotel breakfast is superb. Rooms are neat, spacious, tidy and renovated not long ago. The staff are very courteous and helpful, will try their best to help. Being on a main road means there are cars passing, but noise is not loud. Learn to walk straight through the Train Station without paying, just take a complimentary pass from the guard.
