Holiday Inn Kansas City Downtown - Aladdin

3.5 out of 5.0

Nice hotel very close to Convention Center with underground walk way to Convention to avoid bad weather. Only 2 blks walking to Power & Light District where all the restaurants are.

We stayed at the Aladdin when we attended the Big XII Basketball Tournament. This was a great location in regard to the Sprint Center as we were able to easily walk to the Light and Power District and the games. We were close to many restaurants. The KC Streetcar provided in-town transportation to a number of sites. The staff was friendly and well-versed in things to do for fun between games. The Aladdin is a "vintage" hotel. Don't expect fancy bathrooms or tall ceilings. The decor is funky and fun. The breakfast in the hotel dining room was excellent!

Was there only for bed one night. Hotel was fine although showing its age in the room. It was clean and staff courteous

Guest services wasn't very friendly, they don't greet you, seemed to always have a lot people hanging out in their tiny lobby. For $200/night the room had debris on the carpet & bathroom floor as if it wasn't thoroughly cleaned. Also the ice dish was dirty. The lack of cleaniness made the stay uncomfortable.

We were in town for a concert and this hotel provided everything we needed. We loved the complimentary champagne and the staff made us feel very welcome!

Always a pleasure to stay. Staff is always kind and you can't beat the fantastic location. Power and light is just a short walk away, full of food and entertainment!

I had a quick business trip and the hotel was very accommodating. The room was clean and quite.

The room is quit small, no complimentary breakfast, coffee and hot water on the lobby. But, the staffs is nice!

The hotel was in a great location in walking distance to the power and light district. The valet parking was only $16 per night- which was cheaper than parking in a nearby garage, and the staff was great. Rooms were nice and I love the historical building and feel of the hotel. Definitely would stay again for the price!

Loved the complementary champagne at check in!!!!!

Great place to stay because it was near the power and light!

Pleasantly surprized by this "boutique" style hotel in downtown KC. Great location in the power and light district. Lots to do. Older but well kept. Art deco style with a cool funky vibe. I will stay again when in KC.

My boyfriend and I went to visit friends in the area and my boyfriend insisted on bringing his own iron for his clothes. The next morning we left and traveled east. When we got to our next hotel we realized he left his iron on the TV Stand to cool. He called right then and was given the voice mail of the housekeeping staff and was told they would get back to him. Well, after calling numerous times and leaving voice mails with housekeeping and management and 2 weeks of this we have yet to hear back. In messages we say we can come our friends pick it up and nothing. Not that it's a huge problem but when you leave a $50 Item behind by mistake and try numerous times to get it back or to at least get a call back it makes me not very happy or want to visit again. Just be aware of all left behind items will never get back to you like other hotels. I had one hotel mail me a bear I bought for my nephew and left there. Shows you what places care about their guest.

We stayed over father's day weekend. The festival we were attending was just down the way. Always a cab waiting, prompt valet. Nice staff.

Great location! near the Power and Light District, Crossroads district for Artwalk, and Crown Center. Loved that it's on the national historic register

My fiancé and I came down for a concert at the Sprint center on a Wednesday night. The location is great and the walk from the hotel to the arena/bars and restaurants was very quick. Parking was right across the street and cost about as much as you would expect for a downtown garage. The room was very clean (as expected). As for the cons, the view out of our window was nothing but a brick wall (the building next door). Also, the beds were extremely stiff and we woke up sore. Overall, the experience was average and I will probably try another hotel next time we visit KC.

We arrived for a concert on saturday afternoon. It took only 5 minutes to get checked in. The staff was very friendly and recommended a great little restaurant around the corner. Everything was within walking distance. Rooms were very clean and updated with new decor. We will be back for sure!

Location was fantastic (walking distance to many attractions) and the decor was beautiful. I like that the room didn't have the typical hotel room look or feel. Elevators areTINY as was the lobby. Super packed during check-in time.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was small, but clean and well kept. Perfect location if you are visiting the power and light district.

We picked this hotel because we were having trouble finding hotel rooms so that our family could go to a Royals baseball game. It is located very close to the Power and Light district. Many people checked into the hotel with cases of alcohol. There were loud parties all night, fights in the hallway. When the hotel desk was notified, they did their best to quiet people down. In short, this is not a good location for family, or for a quiet getaway.
