I attended a conference here & stayed over for 2 nights. My room & food good. Disappointed in conference facilities as room has a lot of pillars which impacted the table layout. Bathroom facilities inadequate as 3 ladies toilets for a conference of 90 people. Also, lunch was in the hotel restaurant so 90 people had to use 2 small lifts to get to the restaurant which took some time. Location great for people using Gautrain.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. Not very friendly , not sure whether the receptionist purposely gave me, not child friendly bathroom. From the room you can see ppl shower. I have requested early king size bed. My husband have to speak to the manager to change our room. The restaurant staffs are friendly. Really loved the food. It was delicious. The buffet breakfast was awesome. Advantage of this hotel, very nearby train station gautrain. If you want to go city sightseeing tour, the van will pick you and dropped you in this hotel back. Not much of restaurant nearby.
Really enjoyed 3 nights in the Radisson Blue Gautrain this week. The hotel is centrally located with taxi/driver services on the door step and adjacent to the Gautrain service. The hotel is stunning and the rooms are well finished. The restaurant and bar both have excellent food options and are bright, clean and welcoming. There as a very strong sense of security and access to guest floors are card controlled via a separate elevator from the street entrance elevator. A couple of very minor grumbles.... service is a little slow in the restaurant and if kids are in the pool, they need to be closely supervised if not strong swimmers. Other than that, I would consider this a superb location and rank it among the best of hotels I have stayed in.
Room very comfortable for the three days. But staff at reception not well trained. I witnessed one staff member being so patronizing to a foreign guest this morning while I was checking out. He couldn’t speak English- and she was trying to force him to respond to her “how are you”. She repeated it to him over and over - and all he was trying to communicate was that he wanted a cellphone charger. Shocking abuse of her power. General lack of professionalism with the front desk and downstairs desk. We had terrible rudeness from a lady who we had to call to get the hourly shuttle from Nelson Mandela Square. Staff in the bar restaurant slow-and really not terrible excited to help. No aircon on in the gym. Stale sparkling water in the gym water cooler - so weird. I called the concierge to tell him that this was the case in the gym - and he told me it’s not his department and tried to put me through to someone else! - making it my job to sort it out.
In many ways a good hotel for the price. Though it is surprising that ladies of the night are allowed. Hotel taxi service ‘forgot’ to pick us up - so Uber was tried which is not necessarily safe in Joburg
We (2 adults and 2 children) have stayed at this property in October for 6 nights. The location is very close to malls (Sandton City, Benmore etc.) Gautrain station, offices etc. and really convenient with parking facility (there is a charge though). We haven't found the room (Junior Suite) that great but it had a good view of Sandton and surroundings. The room and facilities are not that family friendly, especially with a transparent shower cabin. Service at the breakfast buffet reception or table was not that great however the guys at the egg station were very friendly and helpful. For a 6 night stay with family at this hotel we didn't find anything special from service, room or overall value for money, no "wow" factor. I will return only for the convenience to this corporate focus hotel.
The rooms are clean and well appointed and typical in style of a large chain. The staff were very friendly and efficient and helpful at all times. The buffet breakfast was the best we have seen in Africa with a beautiful selection of food. Would definitely stay here again.
I've been going to Joburg for quite some time now and this place is one of the best hotels to stay in. It's just right and the staff very friendly and helpful.I highly recommend it and it's a walking distance from Nelson Mandela square.
I stayed in this hotel in business during 8 days. The first 5 days i had a nice room, however I checked out to spend the weekend outside Johannesburg and when I returned i got a room which was not so nice, so leaks in the windows which was not good for the noise. The hotel location is in a business area, with more business hotels there, but is not a touristic area. The staff is good, unfortunately the Monday breakfast delayed, the Kitchen only opened like more than 20 min after the breakfast started.
We booked the business class room. The room itself was very big and the decor was lovely. The service provided by staff was excellent. The breakfast was nice. They have a gym which overlooks Sandton. This hotel is located right opposite Sandton train station making it easy to get to the airport. The hotel offers a free shuttle service. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back again.
