My husband and I stayed for a night, and it was wonderful to be back (we had gotten engaged at the hotel a few years ago during a special stay there). This hotel ticks every box you'd expect from a five-star hotel: fantastic and friendly service, wonderful and comfortable accommodation, great food. Our room also had gorgeous views of Sandton. It's close to the Gautrain station, and Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square for shopping. A highlight was cocktails and snacks by the pool on the late-afternoon/evening, and a great workout at the gym the next morning while taking in the great Sandton view.
The bedrooms are very nice. The hotels are also in a very good location 5 min walk to the mall and 2 min to the metro station. The service is not bad it could be better, they say that the hotel has a pool which is pointless because you can't really swim in it. The food is also okay
First you enter the hotel and a bunch of workers are keeping busy around the counter. Then you find out that 4 of them are related to MK Tours and can not help you. Finally you reach the concierge who helps you get to the third floor where is situated the reception. After the clerk finished his phone conversation we did the check in (one night only). We saw that another couple was offered welcome drink by another receptionist but the guy who took care of us did not offer us anything. We paid cash for our stay but the clerk did not give us a receipt about the payment. Very unprofessional. The room was nice and big and nothing to complain about except some strange things left on the top of the closet. But only because I am tall I saw it ! At the breakfast nobody came to ask if we want something so I had to find out that coffee is also self service. The hotel has a very nice outside pool and terrace as well bar and very good breakfast. Situated in an excellent place close to Mandela square and the huge mall. There is also a shuttle of the city tour bus that picks you up from the hotel to take you to the green bus which is very convenient. You can leave your luggage in a store room free of charge. The wi-fi is free and very good.We received two bottles of water in the room (i don't think it was mineral water because it said on the attached paper : "complimentary water" At the check out everything was fine except that I did not receive an original invoice but a copy of invoice alltough I mentioned that I need the original. When we went to the ground floor the same 4 or 5 fellows were there talking loudly between them. That's not a good impression!
Good location in the safest area of Joburg. Very close to shopping center Bedrooms are ok. Nice hotel but restaurant is not that good. Service is very slow and food not the best. People are very friendly and hepfull.
Thank you all at Radisson Blue Gautrain for excellent service during our much3 nights stay in the beginning of January. My wife and I have enjoyed very much the clean and comfortable roomrinterior, superb breakfast and swimming pool. The hotel restaurant serves a tasty and high quality dinner and lunch for very reasonable price. The beef tenderloin steak and carpaccio were a blast. The area around the hotel is safe and well kept-just 5 minutes walk to Mandela Square and a big shopping mall. Everyone from the staff members was so kind and nice. They were very helpful and always wanted to say"yes"to accommodate your request. Special thanks to the gentle receptionist Mariana for many valuable suggestions and advises as well as for the smile ever presented on her face.
This is a perfect place for a short layover in Joburg. Directly over the road from the Gautrain station (3 stops to airport) and a 5 minute walk to Sandton City/Nelson Mandela Square. The checkout time of midday allowed us to go and enjoy a leisurely breakfast, shopping and some re-packing before heading back to the airport. Rooms are well sized, modern, immaculately clean and have all the features you need including fridge, iron and a decent hairdryer! Separate rainfall shower and bathtub were a nice touch. It's not a boutique hotel, nor does it try to be, but for our purposes it really could not be beaten. Staff are lovely (and trustworthy - my parents dropped off some luggage for me to collect several days later when I arrived and it was all there safe and sound). We were very happy indeed with the value for money and will definitely return. Just a note on the Gautrain - make sure you check the weekend times. We didn't think about it and discovered they only go every half hour, which is far less frequent than during the week.
Very well situated in Sandton near the huge shopping mall, with all services and numerous cafés and restaurants, and shops very safe. ! Very near the Gautrain station bringing and taking you in 10 min. to the airport. very useful because of always heavy traffic on the roads, nice rooms, super breakfast, very kind and helpful staff, whom I experienced after some trouble I had somewhere else. Manager very polite and helpful as well. I will come back.
Radisson Blu Gautrain Sandton is a good choice for business meetings. The staff is friendly and prepared to help you whenever you need. The rooms are clean und comfortable. The breakfast couldn't be better, I did not miss anything at all. If you like to relax you can use the pool. For training you can use the fitness room in the upper floor. I had 3 good days of business meeting, not a single complain.
We drop in yearly at the Radisson Bly for a breakfast conference. This year has met expectations with well organized and prepared coffee and eats during our morning conveyance. We will recommend these facilities to anyone. Thank you once again.
In terms of location and easiness to get by, not many hotels can beat the Radisson Blu Gautrain. I recently stayed there on a business trip, the entire trip from the airport by train to the hotel was pretty easy, the hotel is very quaint, albeit crowded and a bit dark, either than that, it was a very enjoyable stay, with the hotel providing transportation to places of attractions or restaurants within the hotel radius. I totally recommend the hotel, especially for business travelers.
