There was not much to fault at this hotel rooms were spotlessly clean and well maintained, only down side was the paper thin wall you could hear every cough from the room beside you which wasn't so much of an issue in November but in the high season could prove interesting! the bar and waiting staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble, however the staff were more than a little surly we found this with all not just one member of staff. The view were AMAZING perfect location for a quiet weekend break
Staff were friendly. The food was excellent and rooms can't be faulted very clean and comfortable. Just would have been nice to have a bit of back ground music in the bar/ restaurant and would have been nice to have the bar open a bit longer in the evening.
This was a delightful mini-break in the autumn season. On Jersey as a whole, I visit every summer but had never been in October so I thought I'd give it a try. It is beautifully sunny still and a delight to venture in. The hotel itself is lovely and welcoming with friendly staff from all different cultural backgrounds which makes for a very pleasant stay. The view from our room and the dining room was spectacular. Price wise I feel as though we definitely got our money's worth. It was more than we usually like to pay but it was worth it. Despite the weather not being hot like the summer it was still fairly sunny and the balcony was very sheltered and easily accessible. The decor was very suited to the location and we were never too hot or too cold. The bathroom was spectacularly furnished and you couldn't get any closer to the beach without being physically on it! Walls are a bit thin throughout the hotel but having a balcony room helps you drown out some of the footsteps from the rooms above with sounds of the sea. We kept the balcony door ajar so we got a fresh breeze at night and it was lovely. Out of all the places I've stayed the Golden Sands has been by far the best. I wish I'd stayed there longer!
Had a lovely one night stay. We had a sea view room which is definitely worth the extra money! The room was great - very clean and and furniture all well kept and contemporary. Bathroom was also very nice which looks like it had just been done to a very high standard! Bus stop almost right outiside the hotel which is very handy and is a great way of getting about the island. Day ticket for unlimited travel only £8 or just £2 for any single trip! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a get away!
I went to visit Jersey in November: nice weather and no crowds. The Golden Sands Hotel is directly on the beach with fantastic sunrise/sunset views, good restaurants nearby and easy access to all parts of the Iceland by car. The amount I paid in November for a seaview room including breakfast was simply outstandingly good value. The room was also nice and in a good condition. All staff members were professional.
I stayed 3 nights on the Golden Sands Hotel in St. Brelade. It was excellent. Staff was polite and friendly and my room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was great, one of the best I have ever experienced. Best part is that you can access the beach directly from the hotel. It was rather cold but it was great for a morning walk on the beach. What better way to start your day, after a very good and fulfilling breakfast! The only criticism I can find is that the Wi-Fi signal wasn’t very good on my room which was situated on the third floor. It worked just fine by the bar and restaurant area.
A hotel we have visited many times in the past - its location on St Brelades beach cannot be bettered. Nothing was too much trouble for either the Bar or Restaurant staff, If you are thinking of staying then all the rooms are excellent - but for a little extra try a sea view with balcony.
I really enjoyed my short stay at Golden sands. The staff were very professional, the room was clean and tidy, and the bed very comfortable. I particularly enjoyed taking breakfast in the dining room, overlooking St Brelade's bay.
Fantastic location, excellent staff, wonderful service. Long walks on the beach, close to all amenities We spent time in the hotel bar enjoying the incredible view, even when it rains it worth looking at
In Jersey for the very first time for a very old friend's 70th birthday celebrations. We stayed 4 nights to get a good feel for the island. Our friend had recommended a few hotels and St Brelades Bay looked to be really stunning location, which turned out to be the case. The hotel is in a great spot at the middle of the bay and right on the beach. After 4 nights where another friend had joined us for the last 2 nights, we all felt there were a number of areas where the hotel could up its game. The bar food which we had on a couple of occasions was heavy on bread and not great on flavour-a bit more care and a bit more quality could certainly pay dividends. The staff attempted to be friendly but veered between uncomfortably familiar and confused-breakfast plates whipped away without asking was rather disconcerting and some basic customer relations training would make a considerable difference. The soundproofing between bedrooms isn't good and if you have an upstairs neighbour who bumps around from 6.30 onwards, some careful positioning of guests if at all possible would be a helpful gesture from the management. Overall, it was a reasonably pleasant stay, but with not too much trouble it could have been considerably better. But St Brelades' Bay is a joy!
