The only downside was that we only stayed one day! The Gateway was just amazing. We were very generously upgraded at no cost on arrival, to a beautiful suite with great views. The room was huge - very comfortable beds, bathroom with jacuzzi and shower, and a small balcony. The staff were so accommodating, very attentive and friendly, they did their absolute best to make our stay great. Located around 1hr drive from Jaipur, I'd definitely recommend even a single night's stay in this haven to escape the business of Jaipur and unwind in the beautiful countryside. Great facilities - pool, gardens, games room etc - fun to come with a group of friends.

It is a small but magnificient property of the Taj group. Full marks to Mr.Bharat and his amazing staff for making our stay at the hotel very comfortable and great.Food is amazing and the chefs take special care in fulfilling the requirements of each guest..The butter chicken, laal maas ,bread pakoras ....and so much more all were very delicious. Location is fabulous ....very quiet and relaxing getaway amongst hills and forest.Lots of activities for kids....It used to be a hunting lodge for the kings and the royalty is till date maintained..difference is the guests are given a royal treat..We got a very good deal for a deluxe suite and had a luxurious stay. lastly I would like to thank Mr.Bharat .I was searching rooms online and accidently two rooms were booked but it was very kind of him to provide me with a free cancellation for both the rooms and then also give a wonderful deal for a suite for two nights..

Its indeed an amazing place in the middle of a jungle. We were two couples who went there and the time spent would be cherished. Food- do try there lal mass. It was the best I have ever eaten. Some problem with the mosquitoes but the hotel staff said that it is very temporary around September.

Being one of Taj Group's hotel, my expectations from this hotel were high and I was not disappointed. Hotel is located 35-40 kms away from Jaipur away from city's hustle and bustle, noise n pollution. This property was a hunting lodge built in 1933 by Jaipur Royal family bought by Taj in 1980s. Though this structure almost 80+ years old, it's maintained superbly by Taj group, it feels like built last month. Now the service.... Definitely makes you feel like royalty. As this lodge has limited number of rooms (14), you get personalised attention. Staff is very helpful & always greets you with pleasent smile. So if you need a break from pollution, noise n work.... just book your vacation here (try contacting the hotel directly)

Its a small but beautiful property managed by the Taj Group... very near to jaipur city.. the property has nice swimming pool.. the best thing is the quality of food..dont forget to take all meals included offer at this property.. perfect to visit with friends & family...

We chose this place as a bit of an indulgence during a week in India in the hottest month of the year. It was everything we hoped it would be. Truly personal service, stunning views, luxury accomodation, old-world charm and great food. I cannot think of one thing that detracted from our experience. Yes, as others have described this hotel is a good 45 minutes of slow driving out of Jaipur, and there is nothing else around. However, we allowed ourselves one morning to go into Jaipur for a walking tour, and then spent the rest of our stay relaxing under the shady trees and swimming in the pool. Mr Jagat and his staff were extremely attentive and we felt like we knew them personally by the time we left. You will have to eat in the hotel because there are no other options nearby, but the food (western and Indian style) is excellent and not overpriced considering the quality of the setting and the service level. I have stayed at other Taj properties, and although this one is more "boutique" it certainly meets the same standard.

You may wonder what you are coming to on the approach to this hotel and to be honest we would probably never have found it if we had been on our own. As it was we were with a Cox and Kings party of 10 people and driven in a coach. A colonial hunting lodge, the rooms are spacious, well appointed and immaculate. The reception rooms including bar, dining and a billiard room are panelled with comfortable seating all round. If you are sensitive about hunting, you may be put off by the collection of "trophies" in cases and on the walls but this WAS an active hunting lodge and there are still leopard, wild pig, deer and several types of monkey in the surrounding forest. Thankfully no hunting takes place now. The food was excellent and staff, who are employed from local villages, are excellent and very helpful. Views from the verandah over the plain and to the hills in the distance are breathtaking. The food is good and a cookery demonstration of Indian techniques is available for the chefs among us! About 20km outside Jaipur but not to be missed. If not on your party's itinerary ask why?

2nd visit- this time for a tad longer, and with my parents. Opted to come here for a quiet celebration of our anniversary. And again the resort and its staff didn't disappoint. Still the same quaint interiors, still the beautiful outdoor locales. This is the hotel which typifies "Where time stood still". On the 2nd day- we were possibly one of the only two families residing here- so the chef prepared meals tailored to our requirements from the Soup to dessert ! And all so wonderful. Like he was referring to an old recipe book handed down for at least a few generations, so authentic was the preparation of even the most mundane. And then there is the staff, so wonderful and so prompt. A unique brand of hospitality. Somehow, this property of the Taj combines the intimacy and hospitality of the family bed and breakfast with the charm of a heritage property so perfectly that its amazing so few people know about it. I suppose it's only natural, when you discover one of the best kept secrets, you don't want to blurt it out to the world. I hope to come again, next time with a larger cohort.

This is a great small hotel offering luxury rooms in a beautiful setting. All of the staff were friendly and super efficient, how many hotel managers would personally ensure I had a lemon and honey drink to sooth a cough? The food was not exceptional but still very good, our party of four had no complaints. The hotel is a 45 min drive from Jaipur on some poor roads but was well worth the drive to stay in such a relaxing spot.

If you are looking for a quaint , beautiful, relaxing place with an old world charm this is the place . The place is all about warmth , great food n traditional superb hospitality . There's Ram Singh ji who has been with this property for 28 long years and his way of narrating stories is lovely . Everyone is out there to make your stay simply fabulous. Wud go back again soon .
