Pros- clean, walking distance to middle street, friendly staff. Cons- if I’m paying $170 for one night in the OFF season (including taxes) I expect the balcony door to slide open without extreme difficulty and not to get tangled in the curtain that doesn’t open to walk through the door and the sticks of the curtain closure hit us in the face as we are trying to come in and out. Absolutely terrible design and sliding door. I also expect there to be a mini fridge and microwave, even crappy motels have those in each room. I’m glad I brought a small cooler but if did not suffice. Very disappointing.

Room was ok, on the second day had a slight pop from an electrical issue with the a/c unit. The staff moved us to another room, and gave us a free dinner. Which was nice. The staff at check in seemed to be confused about things. I had already paid for everything. She seemed to struggle with the computer. No other people where checking in. Now lets talk about the free dinner. Food was not bad. The mixed drinks from the bar where horrible. Wife and i stood at the entrance to the restaurant for a bid, no one was at the desk to seat us. Again this place was empty. The waitress must been in training. She had no clue on how to be a waitress. Brought no water, i asked for a loaded baked potatoe, she brought my stuff after must of my potatoe was eating. Brought my salad with no drinks still on the table. Thank goodness it was free. The room was pricey for what it was. The hotel needs work.

Nice stay. Clean room. Close to everything in downtown New Bern. All staff was pleasant and friendly. Just wish there was a continental breakfast. Overall enjoyed our stay.

For the money we pay I don't recommend to any one that hotel 2 days we stay no one clean our room I asked the front desk twice to make sure our room to be clean It was late when we get back , the room still dirty !!!!!!! Need new management

Hotel room was great. Restraunt was good too. Hotel staff ( housekeeping) was rude. But otherwise very nice

Over all a great hotel, location, restaurant and bar. Cons were... One working elevator so it was slow getting to our room and we were suppose to have a refrigerator in our room but it seemed to be taken out.

We took a quick weekend trip to New Bern and enjoyed it immensely! We could not have picked a better place to stay. This hotel was great and in a wonderful location. We will go back!

Great place to stay if you want to see New bern. Walking distance from everything and right on the water.

This hotel is on the water. Its deck overlooks moored sailboats and a nearby drawbridge for boat access into the large river. The hotel is excellently located for easy walking into the historic district of New Bern and the Tryon Palace. The hotel food was appropriately-reasonably priced and well within reach. Excellent wait staff. The free parking enabled us to leave the car in one place during our stay. Very clean rooms... nothing special... just nice.

From the moment we arrived everyone was extremely professional and approachable. Loved the room, spacious, beautiful, and clean. Loved the amenities, tiki bar, dj, and wonderful employees. The location cannot get any better, this place is off the marina next to park with boat launch, and in the historic downtown of New Bern. The food was also delicious and not priced through the roof. Enjoy your stay this place is a gem.

This hotel is situated in a beautiful location. That said, I find it to be a little overpriced. The facility is clean, but shows some signs of its age - particularly in the primary facility. The adjoining building was updated more recently, and is my preferred option when available.

Always a pleasant stay! Just stay away from the calamari fries, the aioli is tasty but the calamari.....

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and well kept. The restaurant was affordable and the food was good. You can walk to anywhere in town from the hotel -- a great location.

Room had a great view and was clean. Hallway carpeting was dirty. Breakfasts were way overpriced. Hotel was well situated for Mum Festival.

Great welcoming staff, older place somewhat updated with AWESOME RIVER FRONT VIEW. Dockside/pool restaurant had terrible waitresses, totally ignored us for 2 days. For price expected mini fridge & room safe, none there.

Stayed for 1 Saturday night and chose the hotel due to location was close to event and the river front location was fantastic. The other good thing about the hotel is the comfort of the room. The bed was fantastic. Other than those, there weren't any other good aspects of the hotel. Check-in was at 3, checkout is at noon. We arrived at 3:15 only to be told the room wasn't ready. We waited for 45 mins for a ready room which was irritating. They did offer 2 free drink tickets at the hotel restaurant, but the restaurant didn't open until 4, so that didn't help at all. To add to the negatives of this hotel, a maintenance worker was in our room as we returned around 6:30pm fixing the toilet paper dispenser. I appreciate the hotel fixing broken items, but that should be done while the room is vacant and not while occupied. Especially with an item as inconsequential as a toilet paper dispenser.

It appeared that the hotel was in the middle of a renovation when we stayed there. Our bathroom tiles were pretty dirty and I couldn't help but wonder if that was because a renovation was eminent. The ice machine on our floor was out of order the whole stay. The tv station selection was average. There was a big football game on tv that my son wanted to watch but the hotel did not get the channel televising the game. The view of the river from our room was amazing. Great location.

It was in a cute little historic town, with a nice view of the river. It was clean and the staff were polite; however, they seemed to be understaffed and several of the employees were not knowledgable. There was no A/C in the halls or elevator. Our room a/c wouldn't turn off. The shower was broken. Many rooms' phones weren't working. The ice machine on our floor was broken. There was no safe or fridge in the room. We had to wait a long time for towels. We usually got them after asking, in the evening. It seemed like they were undergoing some transition.
