We have been there for 1 week trip arranged by Neckermann. The apartment was quite comfortable and consisted bedroom, bathroom, living room and balcony. Shortly speaking as an apartment it wasn't bad, but if we are talking about 4* hotel, then it wasn’t good either. For example the rooms were not daily cleaned by default, and final cleaning which we had guaranteed by Neckermann hasn’t included washing dishes or disposing of garbage. Moreover the towels are being replaced only once per week, but toilet paper is not, so we needed to buy it ourselves. To have a comfort stay I recommend to buy an ear plugs because it is very noisy !!! The beds are next to the entrance, so you can hear every sound of closing door which btw. is very loud, because you need slam the door to close them. You can also hear every step and word said on the corridor. I don't recommend a BB option, because you can buy breakfast voucher on place for 10 EUR per person and will regret it within few days. The problem is that there is no diversity at all and for the coffee you can have only a croissants. During 1 week stay the menu hasn’t changed even once. The only exception was watermelon - hurray! ...but probably only 1 fruit, because after several minutes it was already finished and waiter informed us that they don't have anything more... really?! From sweets there were only a pancakes, but they were baked by the machine, so the queues and awaiting time were very long. I would recommend to take a breakfast at hotel maximum few times, and rest eat either outside or just do it yourself in kitchen. The location is average, so for sightseeing it's the best to have an own car, especially that the best places to visit are away of several kilometers (e.g. Kamenjak, Brijuni, even Pula). The closest beach is also one of the worst around the neighborhood (dirty and full of the fishing boats). But the water in main swimming pool was even worst... you could not see your fingertips not to mention feet... Main positives: + nice rooms with bedroom, bathroom, living room and balcony included + well equipped apartment (fully functional kitchen) + free parking (underground and around the hotel) + animations for kids and adults Main negatives: - Very noisy (thin walls, not sealed door, loud on corridors) - Breakfasts - Room service - Dirty water in swimming pool - Air-conditioning controlled only centrally
Really nice place. Not fancy but you don´t expect fancy. Hotel was fairly clean and quiet. Stuff was really friendly and helpful restaurant was okay. There are lots of things that could be better like everywhere but why being picky and grumpy when you can enjoy and relax. For this price you can hardly get better...
Well what can I say .....just came back from this hotel we visited early September 2016 and all we've thought about is going back. When I read the reviews was a bit worried as we have 2 small children and wanted an easy experience. Check in was a bit of a nightmare I would recommend you take an afternoon flight as you can't pay for early check in so when got there at 11 we then had to wait around till 4 and we'd been travelling since 3 in the morning so was ready to relax. But the hotel offered us a place to store our bags and use of all facilities while we waited with no extra charge. When ready to check in the lady we dealt with couldn't do enough for us and was full of information when we asked questions. Our room was in block c sea with an amazing view of the coast . Nice clean fresh room bed was Really comfortable. Kitchen had everything going you need to make quick meals . Hotel was lovely our children loved the pool spent most the days there . The pizza in the restaurant downstairs is really good and you can take up to your room is found reasonable priced from 60 to 70 kuna a pizza and more than enough for 1 . There is a shop downstairs as well offers pastry and bread which are fresh . Ice cream parlour which is also a bar . And the entertainment for children is really good the kids loved evening dancing and games . We didn't stay out to late as all the swimming and walking children were wrecked by 8.30.the walks are a must you can walk through an eco forest of and the views are amazing . And there's many places to sunbath on the rocks as you walk through ...beach shoes are a must as lots of stones and no sand that we could see. All i can say is highly recommended and we're going again next year that's how much we loved it . Hope this helps.
As far as the hotel is ranked as a 4 starts apartments everything could be better.Well,it is quite a nice place to stay, the pool area is clean and comfortably organized. The only minuses are: 1.The layout of the apartment is really stupidly planned. You open the door and see the bed, that is called "a bedroom" ( which is annoying simply because the door is right next to your bed and you hear the noise from the corridor). Apart from it,it is ok.After the bedroom you pass the kitchen and the second bedroom, quite a big balcony, where you can enjoy your breakfast or an evening drink. 2. Housekeeping. You don't move into the perfectly clean apartment. The balcony is quite dirty ( its doors and floor),and it is not well cleaned under the cupboards in the kitchen area and in the cupboards.Hospitality is my profession,I do understand that they are saving money on housekeeping, but from the four stars apartment resort I would expect at least one in a four days space cleaning. They don't do it.Yes you clean everything by yourself at home, but your home doesn't belong to the associated resort. The towels are changed once in a four days, the bedding you change by yourself once in a week. But in general it is ok,nice beaches ( you can not expect more in Croatia),at this seaside you have two beaches for your choice.A bar,few shops, restaurant.By the way,to food in the shop is not much more expensive than in town.It is just expensive.Return ?no I would not return, but if someone will ask me where is in Croatia a nice place to stay I would recommend this resort.
Let me just start by saying that I really dislike giving a negative review but my experience at Aparthotel Del Mar made me feel obligated to give potential visitors warnings that I wish I had received before booking here. Points for improvement: -Hotel staff/Check in procedure: check in went quickly but actually only because the hotel staff literally told us no information. In fact, they required us to surrender our passports overnight because someone was using the computer. This already gave me a not nice feeling watching them take our passports and put it in a plastic folder and leave it on the desk next to them. They also did not tell us any information about the hotel (including that the check-out time is 9:30 in the morning!!). They also gave us no information on wifi, which brings me to my next point... -WiFi: wifi here is TERRIBLE and NOT FREE. We were under the impression that wifi was free but when we realized we could not connect, we had to go back to reception and we were told we would have to pay 13- euros per device in order to have wifi. If you're going to charge for wifi, at least make sure it is strong and works! We could not load anything. Furthermore, they said we could just buy one account and then switch devices to use it. THIS IS NOT TRUE. We tried this the first day and in the end we had to buy three different wifi access papers. Even more annoying, the wifi doesn't remember your device so if you leave the hotel and come back, you have to re-enter your passcode (so do not throw away the pass code!!) -Room: Room was OK but nothing fancy (but we didn't expect that). We were told we'd have a seaview room (not true - we faced a parking lot). Most annoying though was that the room lock does not work! We have a three year old so we had to pile all of our suitcases in front of the door in case she woke up at night and tried to open the front door. Tip: if you want a Do Not Disturb sign, you have to go to reception to get one. -Facilities/Restaurants: food is NOT good. You can better leave the hotel to go to the 'Konobas' around because they have much better food, much better service, and not much more expensive. The hotel has a mini-grocery store which is convenient but just be warned that it is very expensive. They also do not have any medicine there. I was waiting at reception (again) and two people in front of me asked reception for Paracetemol and the staff told them that you cannot get that here and have to walk 1,5 km to get to the drugstore. Luckily I heard this and gave some from my purse but I couldn't believe this hotel didn't have simple first aid medicine! -Beach: bring water shoes! The stones hurt very badly. Although I do no think the hotel is responsible for this but I just write this to warn potential visitors to plan accordingly. -Smokers: this hotel is FULL of smokers! If you're at the pool, expect to be breathing in smoke the whole time. -Location: Banjole is NOT Pula. If you want to go to Pula, you can take a bus (45 minutes) or you can take a taxi (15 minutes for 20 euros). I'd recommend taxi as everyone told us that the bus was a nightmare. -Check out: As I said, 9:30 check out is really inconvenient. Furthermore, we were required to strip our own beds before we left. I don't mind doing this but I have never been told by a hotel that I needed to take off all bedding before leaving. Positive points: -Weather is nice -Food in the nearby restaurants is nice -There is a beach about 1 km away, Cintinera, which was pretty -Nice to have playgrounds -Pool itself is nice and not too crowded -Room is convenient with fridge and stove Overall I wouldn't recommend this hotel. There are much nicer places to stay. It makes me sorry to say this because I really wanted to enjoy my holiday here. Luckily my family and I still managed to enjoy but that had almost nothing to do with the hotel itself.
Like the previous reviewer, I was worried after reading a lot of negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. We had a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 adults and 2 children. It is true that you walk straight into one of the bedrooms from the corridor but we did not find this to be a problem really. Both bedrooms have doors separating them from the living area, which has a sofa bed. The bedrooms are quite small but the living area was a decent size and there was plenty of storage space. There were a couple of things which didn't work in the room, the key cards, the tv and a lamp in on of the bedrooms but these were minor things. We ate in the restaurant once and the food was nice. The supermarket is not particularly well stocked but ok if you are only staying for a few days as we were. We found the staff to be reasonably helpful, if not overly friendly. We had no problems getting sun beds in the morning.
We started getting a bit nervous reading some of the bad reviews before we came as we'd booked for 15 people, but I'm pleased to say that we found this resort to be practically perfect and want to write this review to stick up for it . We had an apartment for 6 with pool view which was alot larger than many other places we've stayed and was immaculate, as was the whole resort. Staff are very friendly and speak excellent English, (as do most Croatians). Views are gorgeous, plenty of beds by the pool (yes, some have towels on by 8am, but there was always enough) kids entertainment team (ours too old) worked tirelessly and kept the pool area buzzing. We joined in the water aerobics most mornings. We didn't have a car but used a local taxi firm Medulin taxis who took us to Pula a couple of times for £4 each return. We walked to Pomer had a drink at the Marina and walked back over the footbridge to Volme about 8km. Walking the other way takes you through the pine trees to the most amazing Bunker Bar , right on the peninsula with quirky seats, goats and cliff jumping ! We went onto the next bay with inflatables in the sea and shade from the rocks, all amazing. There are about 8 restaurants in Banjole (probably more) all serving local cuisine. Our favourites were Sidro and Pap , lovely welcoming staff always eager for us to have a great meal which we did. The resort has evening entertainment making for a great atmosphere. Drinks and food are a bit more expensive here than in other places as you'd expect . There's a small supermarket on site, but walk 800m into the little village and there's a bigger supermarket , gorgeous pastry stall and fruit and veg stall .. We took turns going every morning for croissants and fresh bread. We were here for 2 weeks , got plenty of fresh towels every 4 days and new bedding after 7 days. Our ages ranged from 9 - 75 including teenagers , we all agree this is a great resort in a beautiful country. Well done Del Mar you deserve this great review.
This resort has plenty of good points - the price, the view from our apartment, the apartment itself, good restaurant and ice cream parlour, good size main pool and generally friendly staff. We spent avert relaxing fortnight here and would recommend it. A few minor quibbles, the lack of good wi fi being one, and one word of advice - if you want to get around the area (you should visit Pula, Rovinj and Brijuni National Park) you should hire a car to get around as public transport poor.
No lifeguard on duty by the pool and unpolite woman at the reception unwilling to call ambulance for my injured friend, who was dizzy, sick from stomach and was bleeding from several injuries on head from accident in pool.
It has a very good location. You can easily go to Pula, Rovinj or Medina. You can discover caves, secret beaches by boat. It has one not too large swimming pool, where your children could jump all the time. There is one public beach, with aqua toys, pedal boats etc., but if you go to the other side of hotel then you discover the essential croatian pinewood beach, which is nice and romantic. There are apartments so you have to take food from home, or u can shop in the hotel either. Also it has restaurant etc. The sea is not so good there, but u can go away, by boat, or car. There is a lot of moving by night, so drink before sleeping:).
