The Modern Sultan Hotel is in a great central spot for a great price. It is boutique, has a lot of character yet has the amenities you need. A large shower, good working AC, and very walkable. I see the Aya Sofia outside our window. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and the free breakfast is exactly enough to start the day. 24 hour coffee and tea is also available at your service, and they have a nice front porch to sit and enjoy it! I would recommend if you are looking for something different than the typical hotel; a unique experience for sure.

The rooms are large, and ornate, but lacking in maintenance. The air conditioning did not work, fittings were loose, or did not work. The staff were lazy, on their phones all the time. Breakfast poor, a cling flim covered plate of cheese, tomato, pink meat of some kind, but plenty of bread.

The staff was amazing. They treated us like part of their family. They were very helpful in finding us private transportation as I was traveling with elderly parents. One of the family rooms we had booked was being renovated, so they gave us an additional room for 2 nights for free. It is a very small place but very cozy and comfortable. This place is very close to all the places we wanted to visit.

Excellent location, very near to all the main attractions. Was 5 mins from the main square and first stop for the hop on hop off bus. Staff very friendly, room was clean and shower very hot. Clean towels each day. Heating in room which was great. Breakfast each morning and the kind lady offered to make me an omelette. Safe in room and I felt safe at all times. Great shops nearby.

The hotel stay was excellent overall. All of the staff were more than accommodating and always asking if there was anything else I needed. I ask the front desk attendant, Atta Khan, if they had bananas available for breakfast because I like to have one each day. He was apologetic for not having any but said he would get some. On the following day he handed me a banana and the kitchen attendant, Leila, made sure to give me one and made sure to give me the tea I wanted as soon as I sat down for breakfast each day. Front desk attendant, Idris, made sure to take care of the arrangements for my ride to the airport on-time and carried my luggage down the stairs fir me as did attendant Sashen on the way up. The only negative about the accommodations is that the only place to sit in my small room was on the bed. However, that left me with a very positive alternative which was to sit on the very cozy front porch where I got to visit a little with other guests. I will miss my short visits with Atta and the other staff as they were all so pleasant to deal with.
