My husband and I stayed here for the first time, but unfortunately it will be our last. We stayed in room 124. Upon walking into the room it was musty with the bed and carpet feeling almost slightly damp. We thought this would be better with some air moving through the room, so when we left for a while and came back there was no change. Both of us kept waking up in the middle of the night and the musty smell was still very much present. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom left much to be desired. We did tell the staff about our experience and they offered us something out of their "market" on our way out. We'll plan on driving outside of Avon the next time to avoid this type of experience again.

A very nice, modern hotel that is convenient to the interstate. Rooms are clean and nicely furnished. A well done breakfast buffet with fresh fruit and hot eggs, bacon, sausage and hash browns. A friendly, professional staff

The property is fairly close to the airport and around 10 miles from downtown Indianapolis. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and the property was modern and clean. The Fairfield Inn is basically no frills and provides complimentary breakfast and Internet. Being a Marriott platinum member I typically stay in full service properties when available. I have stayed here a couple of times and would definitely stay here again. Great price for a hotel of this caliber.

Stayed here because of its location to the Indy airport (about 15 mins away) and we had an early flight. The room was clean and comfortable and we slept well. The complimentary breakfast was everything you'd need - they even had gluten free waffles. Thanks for the convenient stay!

Only stayed for one night during our rode trip. Hotel was clean and and comfortable. A Walmart is in walking distance which was nice. Free continental breakfast was provided which was decent, nothing special.

Nothing amazing, but a nice hotel. was very clean, staff very pleasant and helpful. have always had great service and nice stays with fairfield inn's. close to many good restaurants, applebees, red lobster, olive garden and Texas roadhouse. Room was clean bathrooms nice and organized. love the fact the tv had premium channels. would recommend.

We booked a 2 queen room thinking by the pictures it had a sofa bed, which would work for my family Of 6. Once we got into our room it was 2 queen beds only. My husband went to the desk to ask if there were Queen suites with a sofa bed to which thier reply was no we do not have those rooms here, only kings , except when you pull up the pictures it shows otherwise. I was hoping they would be willing to do more for us other than offer roll away beds which we would have had to pay for. The only option was to book another room which they only gave us a AAA discount on ( which we already had AAA ) so basically they did nothing. I do take our blame for not reading the fine print , but after a long drive and arriving with 6 people, finding out we had a 2 queen room I thought they would be more accommodating or even more sorry. If I knew I needed 2 rooms I would have went some where more affordable.

My wife and I have stayed here several times when visiting our daughter who lives in Indianapolis. This is the first time that we have experienced this complete lack of concern for guest comfort. Perhaps the unit is under different management. The Fairfield is showing signs of age and has been for a while, but I can accept peeling wallpaper. I can accept the jets in the hot tub not working. I can even accept the hot water quitting in several rooms on the 4th floor and having to change rooms. BUT … not replacing the cup holder sleeves and not replacing the empty Kleenex box is not acceptable. … not having pool towels available at the pool is not acceptable. …not quickly offering a change of rooms when the hot water quit working and making my wife have to suggest it is not acceptable. … not cleaning the room at all and then having the staff tell my wife that I told them not to clean it, which I did not do, is not acceptable. …not properly cleaning the room, leaving an empty toilet paper roll and empty Kleenex box in the bathroom and not wiping the bathroom countertop is not acceptable. … responding “I talked to my manager and it will be taken care of tomorrow,” when informed of the inadequate cleaning of the room is not acceptable. … not having quarters available for the laundry and not offering to do anything about it when there are two people at the front desk and a bank one-half block away is not acceptable. For the inconvenience of no hot water, for the inconvenience of having to change rooms, for the inconvenience of the room not being properly cleaned, no sincere apology or offer of any type of compensation was made. My wife and I are staying here for another 6 nights. It will be the last 6 nights we ever stay here.

Not sure how it happened but my wife and I spent several days calling / confirming that our son and college roommates could stay at the Fairfleid AT the IND airport and get the FREE shuttle very early in the morning, leaving their car at the hotel for $5 / day rather than the $9 / day at the airport. Working from the Marriott website, I was calling the phone number on the page for the Fairfield IND airport to confirm the details about the number of people, the shuttle schedule, etc.(after searching for hotels near IND airport on the Marriott website). Everything seemed good, and the staff there was GREAT!. Our son called last night as he's checking in (at Avon property as it turns out), saying the hotel says they have $35 limo rides to the airport and with 4 people, they'd need 2 limos (all 4 of them got there in 1 Honda Civic), and it's about 1/2 hour away from the airport (according to google maps and bing maps). Looking at the Marriott website, it says this property in Avon is 4.9 miles from the airport, but in reality, driving there it's 25 minutes and >> 16 << road miles Calling the Fairfleid we had been calling / wanted him to stay at (AT the airport), they say this is something they've heard before - people wind up in Avon when they wanted to be at the airport location. It's not a rare situation. This wound up costing the guys time in a longer drive to the airport / less sleep, more money to have to pay for parking at the airport and a bunch of frustration. Not sure really who's to blame - Me? - I did the booking on the Marriott website, but I know I started looking for hotels nearest the airport and I was calling the phone number for the IND Fairfield property on the property specific page. The Marriott website? Were we pre-walked and someone didn’t tell us? The airport Fairfield staff confirmed they had the 2 queen rooms we wanted. But being long time Marriott customers and shareholders, we were using miles and had to book through the Marriott website. The website saying that the Avon location is 4.9 miles from the airport is simply wrong. The Avon location? I’ve been calling them to speak to a manager and just heard from the housekeeping manager who brushed off the situation and said I could call corporate. Again, the staff at the AIRPORT Fairfield confirms this is not an all that unique situation to them – people intending to stay at their location / at the airport but wind up booked at Avon. Something in the Marritiott website could likely be tweaked to make sure when you start your search for the Fairfleld nearest the airport, they don't show a hotel that's almost 1/2 hour away. When our kids or us need a hotel near the airport, we'll be sure to book at the Fairfield AT the airport and quadruple check that the address is 5220 West Southern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46241. Because they were great through all this.

The Fairfield Inn and Suites is conveniently located one block off of US 36, righ past a Wal-Mart (heading away from Indianapolis). The foyer is welcoming and attractive. The receptionist was nice and gave us directions to our room as well as the times for breakfast in the morning. If there is a pool we weren't told about it (we didn't come to swim, so no big deal). The suite was nicely decorated and clean as any we've ever stayed in. There was a tv, couch and a chair in the Living area and another tv in the bedroom area. There was a mini fridge and a microwave if you needed either.Tile work in the bathroom was black and white and added to the ambiance of the room. The bed seemed firm and while that's not my preference, my husband enjoyed it. The window treatment needed to be a little wider as it didn't cover the entire window. The noise level was nothing except what we heard from out tv. Breakfast wasn't as elaborate as other hotels but was ample.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing/needing to stay in the Avon area.
