The hotel is at a beautiful location but it lacks the typical Bavarian charm. By that I mean the balconies did not have they typical geraniums or any flowers at all.
The room was very warm (no AC) and there is no refrigerator. Therefore if you bring any of your own snacks and food that need to be refrigerated, you'll be out of luck and you can toss those food items that need refrigeration. This is probably the worst feature of this hotel. It however was clean but was dated. We also had no hand soap in the room, nor was there any good soap in the shower (there was a small foam dispenser which didn't dispense much). This is also very surprising to see these days. Not sure if this is common in southern Bavaria, but it sure isn't in northern Bavaria (as we stayed in a hotel much cheaper further north in Bavaria).
Our arrival time was after 10pm and I had emailed the hotel staff ahead of time to warn of our late arrival. They accommodated the late arrival which was great. In the morning when I had to do the check in I waited a half hour for a staff member to be at the desk. This wasted our already short time in the area. The staff was very friendly though. The breakfast restaurant had typical charm and the breakfast was very good.
I'm sorry to say that unless there will be fridges in rooms, I would not ever stay there again. That's a minimum for hotels at that price point. The lack of soap in the washroom was also disappointing.
