We did not want to leave. We stayed six nights, a couple and teenage daughters. This was our third stay in about 5 years. As always grounds, staff and rooms all at a high standard. Staff are very friendly and helpful every where in the resort. Rooms are renovated since last visit, mainly bathroom as far as I could tell. Food very nice in all restaurants and in my opinion improved dishes and better service since last visit. Nice to have a drink in the bar each night and listen to Pam and Bobby. Thank you to Alan the big boss who takes time to talk to guests every morning at breakfast. New Years Eve party was very nice, huge effort by staff to prepare and participate, much appreciated. Spa also great. Evason is peaceful and relaxing, away from it all, we will be back!
We stayed previoulsy at the Evason in 2006 and were keen to go back, this time as a family. There are lots of things to like about the resort. The grounds are lovely and very peaceful and the hotel offers lots of activities such as cycling, archery, volleyball etc, some with a modest charge. The spa really is a standout. The quality of the treatments are great and the prices for treatments reasonable and good value for a large hotel. The food is of very good quality with a larger than usual list of options than normal for vegetarians. Breakfast in particular is a very extensive and excellent selection. The staff are as professional and friendly as you would hope and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay, especially Yos at the pool and all the team on the service desk and in the spa and kids club. Alan the general manager is very attentive and professional and makes a real effort to connect with the guests which is a nice touch. Our 3 and 6 year old boys enjoyed the variety of the kids club and the range of activities and kids pool with slide. The standard and cleanliness of the rooms are good although not quite at the level you get in a 5 star resort... our beds were very hard and pillows a bit too soft but thats only a small point and im sure if we had mentioned it to the hotel, which we didnt, they would have helped in any way they could. The main plus of this hotel is its tranquil grounds and lovely open pool area. Whilst the location will be too quiet for some we didnt mind it. A lack of beach will also be an issue for some but it wasnt for us, the pool area was great. The only surprise we had was that the hotel is starting to show its age and none of the reviews really mentioned this. To be fair the hotel is well maintained but its starting to show a few cracks and will be ready for a refurb soon. What was good is that the hotel got its oricing spot on. Whilst the finish isnt 5 star, the service, food and amenties are and we thought the hotel offered good value for money. We enjoyed our 7 nights even though our boys were sick - the on site nurse was really helpful.
My wife and I came here on our honeymoon in august and it was the best experience we could have ever dreamed of. We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool, it was both private and beautiful, and well worth the extra money we paid. The staff were lovely and always happy to help no matter what, when we went to the main pool they barley let you get half way to the bar before getting you another drink, and we got to know some of them and they were so friendly. In the evening the bar had a couple who would play music, they were incredibly talanted and such a good laugh, definitely worth going to the bar in an evening to hear them play, they even remembered our wedding song and played it every time we came in. The food was stunning throughout out stay, and they were able to cater to our taste no matter where we went, the Italian restaurant was surprisingly authentic tasting and so good, but you have to go to the Thai restaurant whilst there, so tasty. The organised trips were also very good, we went to see elephants and to see some Buddhist temples, we were taken by a wonderful lady who was fun and made the experience even better. This hotel deserves more than the five stars I can give as it made our honeymoon so much better than either of us could have ever dreamt.
Be aware that this hotel is located around 30 km from Hua Hin city center so if you're looking for shopping malls, bars and fancy restaurants, that's not the right place to go. However, if you'd like to spend some luxury time in a quiet, natural and traditional area far from the tourist crowds, this hotel will meet your expectations. Once again, the area doesn't have much to offer. There is no beach next to the hotel, but just a seafront promenade that spreads along 10 km. However, the area is quite traditional and deserves to be explored on a bicycle or motorbike to the neighboring villages, Sam roi yod beach and Sam roi yod national park. The hotel itself is a small piece of heaven. Very nice traditional Thai architecture and beautiful gardens and swimming pool. I could feel that the place was environment-friendly. The hotel is quite spread out so small carts driven by the staff are available to take guests anywhere on the hotel grounds, but a walk through the nice hotel gardens is quite enjoyable as well. The only downside is that the restaurant is pricy and doesn't have that much to offer. Given the limited choice of restaurants in the area, it wasn't that convenient. Very professional, effective and courteous staff. The check-in and check out processes were quick and my special requests for the room were taken into account and granted on arrival. I was escorted to my room by one of the staff, which was necessary since the hotel is huge and the room could be hard to find. The service is customized to make every guest feel special. The Studio room I had booked was stylish and romantic with a huge terrace overlooking palm trees, simply beautiful. Maybe the wooden floor on the terrace could be refinished because it was a bit worn but that was the only "negative" detail about that great and huge room. The price I got was OK for this kind of room. I will definitely return there for a romantic week-end when I'll need a break from the city's hustle and bustle.
Amazing that this hotel is still looking even more beautiful with graceful ageing. Lush sprawling gardens are Jewel-like and it must take an army of gardeners to upkeep! Quiet, simply luxurious rooms and villas. I upgraded to EVASON studio beachfront with a huge terrace leading down into the greenery. Fine touches in room decor and luscious quality fabrics like the fully generous - sized curtains add to a feeling of pampering. And, everything works! Maintenance is obviously a priority and every lamp and switch and gadget was functional. Management take care in the hotel's environmental and sustainability credentials- glass bottled water, no plastic bin liners and changing sheets and towels when absolutely necessary. The down side is that this piece of coast is no beauty. Murky, jellyfish infested waters anyone? But the hotel provides a free shuttle service to a decent beach nearby, I believe. Staff are a delight and enthusiastic to please- and the restaurants I visited served tasty, excellent fare. The breakfast spread has to be one of the finest on the planet! A virtual piece of culinary artistry that is almost worth the tortuously awful four hour ride from suvanabhumi airport. But for me, this resort's true value lies in its magical ambience at night ,when an after dinner stroll around the extensively landscaped grounds reveals a tropical garden, beautifully fairy - lit ,and with no one around, a private and magic quietude descends when the frogs, skinks and perfumes of the plants come out to play.
Having visited the same hotel about 15 years ago previously, not much has changed since. The rooms have been refurbished and a normal twin room was very nice and tidy. Houses 4 and 5 are situated the best when considering the rest of the area. No beach but the pool area is large. The pool chairs and towels do need renewal. Excellent breakfast. Many possibilities to do different sports. Tennis, cycling, gym, yoga and mindfulness classes, even Thai boxing available on site. Many great golf courses within a 45 minutes drive. Nice spa and overall good service. Not five stars standard, but decent four stars experience for sure. About 45 minutes drive from HuaHin downtown.
The resort is a fantastic garden of eden with its beautiful yet simple six senses spa and activities for all. My room was very well designed and spacious. The breakfast is generous and both Thai and Mediterranean restaurants are of very good quality. Facilities and pool are very enjoyable and relaxing. The overall great experience is polluted by them over charging for some services such as using bicycles (even if it is 100THB/2hours) knowing that the resort is pretty much in the middle of nowhere with the beach or other restaurants several kms away and also asking for 5,500THB for a single transfer trip in a nice car is way too much (considering the regular fees of taxis from BKK at 2,000THB). A premium is of course acceptable for an enhanced service but this is at the edge of scamming and greed...with the front office staff not so willing to be challenged on these.
I imagine it was amazing when it was first built in the 80s or 90s Beautiful scenery but a little tired in places now. Still pretty tho. The breakfast is heavily overpriced. I won't be buying breakfast again here thanks. The breakfast was a let disappointment.
We stayed in a private pool villa for 10 nights in October and we absolutely loved it ! The villas are beautifully fitted with all you could need during your stay. The bed is very firm, which suited us fine - but some may find it too firm. The bedlinen is soft and luxurious, and the room was immaculately cleaned every day. I particularly loved the scented pillow finish you could select of an evening with your turndown service - we selected the peppermint and it was lovely to help you drift off to sleep of an evening. I highly recommend booking a pool villa if you can. It was well worth it. The pool was a fantastic treat, and was very private and relaxing. There was loads of sunshine streaming into the pool and the sun-beds for sun baking, and when it got too hot you could move into the covered daybed, where a ceiling fan also kept you cool if you needed. When we booked this place, we were very worried we'd be bored with the isolation and the potential lack of food options. We had absolutely nothing to worry about ! The time flew while we were there, and we completely relaxed. The 3 restaurants on site (Coast, The Thai restaurant and the bar) all have a wide variety of food choices. The quality of the food and the meals at each was superbly cooked. The thai restaurant was my favourite though. We found the stay excellent value for money. When we were there, they had great specials on for the end of October. We ate at the resort every day, and we didn't need to wander too far at all during our stay. Only to walk along the boardwalk of an evening. The bar had a happy hour each night, and we indulged in many a cocktail. The staff were discreetly attentive to all your needs. They were polite, friendly, and always smiling. The spa is also well worth an afternoons pampering. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I stayed at Evason for 5 nights to celebrate our anniversary - and we stayed in a villa with a private pool and courtyard. It is definitely worth the little extra to have your own private playground. Even with all the things to do in the area, the attraction of just relaxing in our courtyard won out almost everytime. The staff at the resort were without a fault friendly - and I think the tone is set from the top down with the manager Alan who takes the time to seek out each guest. The grounds of the resort are just lovely - and even with all the gorgeous lily ponds, there seemed to be no real issue with the mozzies! During the week the resort was wonderful and quiet - and I don't know if it is the clever design of the place but it often felt that we were not sharing it with anyone else (or maybe just a few!). The deals on food and drink made staying in the resort for happy hour and meal - always a good choice. The resort itself was lovely and it was nice to walk along the broadwalk, or cycle using the resort's bike, but don't expect a white sandy beach. But if does have all the sights and smells of Thailand - which provide a different kind of experience. For our anniversary the resort left a bottle of bubbles and chocolates in our villa - a lovely touch. All in all a luxury stay at definitely an afford ale price!
