We could not even access the property to check in. We attempted to call and message the host. We ended up having to spend over 500 on an emergency hotel room. VRBO is working on refunding our money for this horrible experience.We have never had any issues from VRBO. This situation is not a reflection of VRBO’s customer service as they have been wonderful!

DO NOT PICK THIS ONE!!! I would give this negative stars if I could. This owners canceled and withdrew as I was standing AT THE DOOR waiting to get the code to open the door, leaving me with nothing on a super busy weekend. I ended up spending 500 a night for a place because there was nothing left. VRBO should not even list the property.

convenient location and spacious

the check in required a lot of waiting for a response with access codes requiring verification from the owner - I waited quite a while to finally get in. the other reviews had me concerned but the place was basically clean. the apartment was very spacious and as the pictures.also found it weird that dishes were hidden in the dishwasher and I couldn't tell if they were clean. living room could have definitely used a cleaning and overall a vacuum - lots of dust and hair... but bathroom was clean (also no toilet paper) and kitchen as well. liked the space overall

It was more like a college apartment, slight hint of stake smoke, stains on the couch. Bonus we had no electricity , but only in that unit. We had to leave and cancel our plans. Got a partial refund from vrbo.

Great location and value, but poor cleanliness and communication

I booked this unit last-minute after a different host canceled. The location near the George R. Brown Convention Center and the covered parking were great, but that’s where the positives ended.Check-in was a hassle. The wrong app link was sent, and I waited 20 minutes outside for the host to reply. Inside, the A/C worked well and the fridge was clean, but the unit wasn’t ready for guests.There was no toilet paper or paper towels. I messaged the host—he agreed it was an issue and said someone would bring supplies. No one ever did. I had to go buy my own.The bathroom wasn’t clean, and the shower light flickered. The bed had no top sheet, the pillows were flat, and the closet was packed with junk. The couch had burn marks, and the walls and windowsills were stained or dusty. Dishes were mostly hidden in the dishwasher. The HVAC filter was filthy and the wrong size.For 75 a night, I wasn’t expecting luxury—but I did expect basic stocking, cleanliness, and follow-through. This place is barely fair. I wouldn’t stay again unless it’s cleaned up and managed better.

This rental is a scam!!!

This property rental is a scam, so don't waste your time or money like I did. Someone was clearly living here and put it on VRBO to make a quick buck. The property was dirty and looked NOTHING like the photos online. They pretended to have an access code, instead the door needed a key. My husband tried to open in, and surprisingly it was unlocked with the key laying on the countertop. The sheets were piled on top of the bed and their were used dirty towels in the bathroom and the floor was wet like someone had JUST gotten out of the shower! We took pictures and left immediately, and I am awaiting a refund. We as a family have been using VRBO for over 10 years, and this is the first time I've ever experienced something like this! Hopefully it never happens again!

Dirty and Unclean Premises - Dishonest Host

This host and VRBO were dishonest in their dealings and let both customers with a bill for a dirty and unusable accommodation. I tried to resolve matter with both VRBO and property owner with no contact or resolution. There were dirty sheets, towels, wet smelly clothes in dryer, and cockroach in the bed. Would not recommend the support at VRBO or this property to anyone needing a sanitary night stay. Unacceptable customer service.
