Our hotel room was great! Very spacious, clean and great view of the city and partial ocean view. Though the hotel is located at a busy intersection, our room was very quiet. Areas for improvement: customer service, valet service and ability to provide uninterrupted utility services (hot water) when hotel occupancy is high. Customer Service: The Front desk personnel were friendly; however, often times seem unsure of responses to our questions or we received conflicting responses. For example, my husband received varying responses for the hotel's lack of hot water on the weekend. Valet Service: For $60/night, the valet service was poor There would be 3-4 valet personnel working; however, there would be no one at the valet desk when we wanted our car retrieved. When returning our cars, there would be a line of cars waiting for a valet. The valet personnel would gradually reappear from one of the rooms (they were not retrieving cars). Utilities (hot water): We did not have hot water on Friday and Saturday night. We understand Friday and Saturday nights are busy; however, to run out of hot water and have to take a cold shower -- not acceptable. For a luxury hotel, Renaissance Residences Honolulu really need to improve on their customer service and being able to provide uninterrupted utility services.

On-site restaurant offers excellent, high quality food, but prices are a bit high. Our one-bedroom apartment was spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed. Daily housekeeping was a hit-or-miss (had to request on two of our four days there), and body lotion amenity was not replenished at all. Overall, we like the hotel for its convenience to shopping and its newness.

This hotel is very nice and clean. The bed is good and we slept nicely. Only one restaurant which is very tasty but it’s better if they have more restaurant. Also they didn’t have convenience store either. You can easy to walk to Walmart or Target / Ala Moana Shopping Center tho. Overall staff are very kind and nice, the property is very clean. We love there.

Likes: Room overlooked the beach and downtown, washer, dryer available in room with kitchenette & refrigerator, adjustable climate control. Room seems well insulated as I did not hear any noises out in the hallway or from guests in rooms nearby. Room service was available. Rooms were cleaned & re-stocked daily--a nice treat. Pool was great for keikis & exercise room was well maintained with a variety of equipment. The pool area is spacious, quiet, well maintained, & not overcrowded at any time day or evening, poolside bar open during certain hours for adult drinks. Towels & beach chairs were available for checkout & use off site. There is a strict return policy for these items. The staff were friendly, helpful, gracious. There is no wait for the elevators even though our rooms were on the 34th floor. The breakfast menu had something likeable for all in my Ohana. The property is within walking distance of other chain stores (Target, ABC), & the Ala Moana Mall (stores seem to be high-end retail), food court & Foodland (like Whole Foods) also in the mall Dislikes: There were no adjoining rooms or suites for our Ohana, but we had adjacent rooms which worked out ok. The fees for daily valet parking & the daily resort fee may come as a surprise or shock. Use up the daily resort fee, otherwise it's money left on the table. As usual, there are county, city, state and tourism taxes attached to the final bill which add up. (But it's Hawaii, and tourism is a big part of the economy).
