Close-by is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, within a five minute walk of Blakeney Quay. It is a spacious detached bungalow and we welcombe guests to bring their pets (with an additional charge). Set in a large secure garden ideal for a small family or two couples - somewhere to relax away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The Quay, with its beautiful views over the marshes, tidal creeks and out to sea, is a great place to try your hand at crabbing and a good starting point for a walk along the coastal path. Take a boat trip from nearby Morston to see the seals on Blakeney Point. At Close-by you are within a short stroll of a well stocked supermarket, fishmongers, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, garage with petrol pumps, art galleries, card/gift shops, play park and tennis courts.

Regular events including Antique and Collectors Fayres and Craft Fairs take place in the Village Hall and the Blakeney Harbour Room is a wonderful venue for live music events along with a friendly bar and delicious Sunday breakfast and Sunday Roast.

Close-by has a large driveway with off-street parking for up to 3 cars - a real rarity in Blakeney! There are two garden areas, one at the front and one at the back, which is secure and south facing and ideal for children and pets. The padlocked garden shed (situated in the back garden) is ideal for those wishing to bring their bicycles on holiday.

As you enter the property there is a large hall.
The sitting/dining room has comfortable seating, freeview TV, WiFi, bluetooth soundbar, DVD player, Gazco electric inset fire, board games and books. The dining table seats up to 6.

French doors open out onto the secure back garden with garden shed, paved terrace, garden table, barbeque and washing line.

The kitchen is spacious and well equipped with electric cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. A walk-in cupboard houses the water cylinder, brushes and dust pans etc.

The back door leads out to a separate "Boot Room" with hooks for coats and swimming towels; plenty of space for outdoor shoes and wellies.

Bedroom 1 has a king sized bed, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe (housing ironing board, iron and indoor airer). Bedroom 2 has twin beds, chest of drawers and clothes hooks.

NEW for 2025 there is walk-in shower only plus washbasin and wc.

The heating is oil fired and mobile signal for Vodafone and O2 is now much improved.

Towels and linen are provided; travel cot, high chair and swimming towels are provided on request.

Please note that this a non-smoking property.

The Spar Supermarket in the village is very well equipped. There is also a Budgens in Holt and a large Tesco in Sheringham.

Blakeney and the surrounding areas have much to offer so why not discover it all from the space and comfort of Close-by.

A lovely bungalow in a great location. Had everything we needed for 2 adults and 2 kids under 10 and was very clean. The delicious lemon drizzle cake on arrival was a lovely surprise too as was a pint of milk and a few other thoughtful bits to welcome us. Walking distance to Blakeney quay and plenty of parking made it a great base for our 6 day stay. Juliet was also very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend this property and we'll be back.

We had a lovely stay at Close - By. The bungalow was spotless. Lovely decor. Lots of lovely finishing touches. A very warm and cosy bungalow. We had a lovely welcome pack which was really nice, it included a delicious Lemon Drizzle cake. Our little dogs loved the enclosed garden back garden.

The house was beautiful with lovely, festive decorations. It was peaceful and the location was perfect: a stone's throw from the quayside. I have been visiting Blakeney since I was little and Close-By has just become a firm favourite! The visitor's book is a joy to read and really speaks for itself; many visitors return only a couple of months later!! The lemon drizzle cake and gifts upon arrival were a gorgeous touch too. A real gem in a great location

Such a nice property in a quiet location but just 5 minutes walk to the quay. Plenty of parking, dog friendly garden and everything you needed was provided for. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Cottage located in lovely location. Very clean and everything in the cottage thought of. The enclosed garden great for the dog. Convenient for pubs,shop, walks buses, probably the best cottage we have been to for getting about.A great place to stay.

Perfect place

Stayed for a weekwith my partner, mum and 2 small dogs. The house and location were perfect. Tastefully decorated and everything you could need for a weeks stay. Welcome pack very much appreciated, especially the prosecco and cake! Nice garden for sitting out and letting the dogs run round. Sofa was a little low down and not the easiest to get up off but that could just be an age thing! Would definitely stay again.

All you could want

A beautifully presented property, with everything needed for a relaxing break. The lovely lawned garden is perfect for dogs and is accessed from the lounge. The master bed is super comfy and we slept better than we do at home! The welcome pack was fabulous and the owners are nearby if you need anything ( or in our case, if you don't read the manual to find where the keys are kept - sorry about that :) ). Great base for a short break

Spacious holiday home with lovely gardens. Modern kitchen and bathroom, very clean and well presented. The owners have a great attention to detail with regards to information/planning for guests needs. Great location and dog friendly too. We loved it and would happily return!
