We are located on a barrier island and do not have cellular towers on the island. Beach Nourishment: Beach nourishment projects help preserve and protect Topsail Island’s shoreline. Most projects are scheduled annually between November and April and may involve large pipes on the beach, trucks moving sand, and other equipment to rebuild and maintain our dunes. Timelines and locations can shift without notice, and we are not always informed in advance. While we understand this may impact your beach experience, refunds or compensation will not be provided for disruptions related to beach nourishment. For the latest updates, we recommend checking the town websites for Topsail Beach, Surf City, or North Topsail Beach. Water Pressure Notice: Please be aware that during popular rental dates, especially in the mornings and evenings, there may be temporary reductions in water pressure. This is a common occurrence across the island as many visitors are getting ready for the day or returning from the beach. We recommend planning showers and other water-related activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
Public Parking: The Town of Surf City enforces “Pay to Park” from March 1-Oct 31 from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm in the Surf City Public Beach Access Parking Lots and other marked Public Parking Lots. The Town of North Topsail Beach will enforce “Pay to Park” from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM year-round. Onslow County operates three public parking areas/beach accesses within the Town of North Topsail Beach. To the best of our knowledge the county intends to continue operating these lots free of charge.
Leave No Trace: Topsail Island enforces a "Leave No Trace" policy in order to protect our shoreline, meaning you must remove all items, including tents and chairs, from the beach each day. Any items left behind are subject to theft, removal by the town, or possibility of being washed away by the ocean.
Turtle Nesting Season: From May to October, Topsail Island is a nesting ground for sea turtles. Be mindful of marked nests, limit oceanside deck lights, and follow local guidelines to protect them.

Fantastic and dog friendly beach rental
We had a wonderful time at 4 By the Shore! There was plenty of space for our party of seven including kids and grandmother and dogs. Special and very dog friendly things about this property include a completely fenced in small grass yard as well as a fully gated front deck. It made for a much more relaxing trip to be able to let the dogs outside unleashed. The hot tub was also amazing and had a great view of the beach.
All five true bedrooms (except the “bonus room” on the first floor) faced the ocean, three of them with sliding doors leading directly to the ocean side deck. Beds were very comfortable! There was plenty of seating at dining room and in living room. Kitchen was well stocked.
Only note about capacity. Even though it advertises capacity of 13, the first floor room with a twin over double bunk bed was more of a bonus room that you pass through as you enter the house (no door that closes for privacy) and would have been too cold in the winter for anyone to stay there. But we had plenty of space with the five real bedrooms since each one sleeps two people.

Great dog friendly home on the beach
This was one of the best dog friendly properties we've stayed at over the last 20 years at TopSail. The little yard was great to have for the dogs. Overall the house was very nice, kitchen was well stocked with supplies,, living and dining rooms very nice and the top deck furniture very comfortable. Rooms were fine. There were 5 adults in our group which worked out well. I think more than 7 or 8 people would've felt really crowded. Only possible areas for improvement would be some upgrades to the bathrooms ( they were fine and serviceable, just an area for future upgrade), and the placement of the grill in the carport limited ability to park a vehicle under that side of the carport. Overall we were very pleased with the house and had a great week. Thank you!

Many Positives, a Few Negatives
The location of the property is excellent and, overall, we enjoyed our stay. Given the nightly rate, the lack of sheets and other basics (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags) was annoying even though we knew about it ahead of time. Also, there were a lot of (probably) palmetto bugs, which was likely the result of the excessive rain during our stay. However, it still detracted from the experience. The house, itself, was good and we would stay at the house again. However, we will not rent another property managed by Access Realty. The employees/staff of Access Realty were great--responsive, friendly and helpful. But the business model doesn't work for us--we don't want to be nickled-and-dimed for every little thing. For example, the check out instructions required all the dishes to be cleaned and put away and not left in the dishwasher (even if clean!) under threat of additional fees. There were other tasks to perform as well also with the threat that noncompliance could result in additional fees. However, we paid a sizeable amount in fees which, presumably, would cover cleaning. It felt a little "have your cake and eat it too"... which we found frustrating. Next year we will look for a property with a more inclusive approach to property management.

Relaxing enjoyment of a quiet beach and lovely accommodations. Plenty of room in this spacious and clean home with modern appliances and beautiful views from most of the rooms.
Supportive staff brought us a Roku stick for movie watching during a rainy day. We will return!

So thankful for 3 by the Sea!
Our family spend Thanksgiving at 3 by the Sea this year, and everything about our stay was amazing! The house was clean, the appliances were new, the kitchen was well stocked, and the mattresses and couches were very comfortable! The hot tub is perfectly positioned and we loved our time in it (though the buttons didn't work quite right). The unique decking is incredible - we loved how we could view the ocean from inside the house as clearly as we could from the deck. Definitely recommend, and thank you for sharing your beautiful beach house with us!

Great spot on the beach
We had a great visit and loved the house! Being able to walk out the door onto the beach was nice. Ample and very comfortable seating in living room. Beautifully decorated and well stocked kitchen. There are lots of steps (three floors) which was a little challenging for the grandparents and one of the grands in the Queen bedroom said the mattress was not comfy. The king mattresses were great! We loved the property and would choose to stay there again.

WONDERFUL HUGE BEACH HOME!!!!
This home had everything you could need. The location is literally steps from the beach. The appliances were top of the line! The couch and furniture was new, and expensive. They had reclining options as well as a charger for you phone. The beds were so comfortable!!! The hot- tub was amazing. The check in process was a breeze! Worth every penny spent!!! Will stay here again...and most defiantly recommend!!!!
